“Well?” Rylan said. “What do we do with all this stuff?”
She shook off her shock. “Have our defense coordinator inventory and label the weapons, then put them back down here. The earth is fortified with something to keep the

out. Seems like the best place to keep them. Have someone box up all the books and take them to our home. I have some reading to do.”
“All right. You’re the boss, boss,” he said.
She climbed out of the stairs, relieved when she was back on the main floor.
“All right sweets, I've got to run. Thanks for letting me be here.” Tink came from the darkness, a sheen of sweat on his brow. “Take it easy.” He dropped a kiss on her head, then another one on her belly. “By, squirt. Uncle Tink loves you,” he whispered.
Rylan watched him leave. “He might be more excited than us.”
Celeste laughed. “Impossible.”
“You ready?” he asked.
“For what?” she asked.
“Her,”—he pointed at her belly—“The institute, a life full of leadership,” Rylan said.
“I’m ready.”
He kissed her sweetly, making her feel warm and loved all over again even though she was the size of a refrigerator.
“Please take me home,” she whispered.
He wrapped his arms tightly around her. “Done.”

I wouldn’t be able to write (or function, for that matter) without the support and love of my family. Thanks, guys.
To my beta readers, Heather London, Jesse Webster, Melinda Mendoza-Scott, Rex Griffin Pyle and Audrey Burns, special thanks.
I also owe a big thanks to Natasha Jaffa of SPJ editing for squeezing RIVE into her spring schedule. Natasha always makes time for me even though I suck at advance notice and I really appreciate it.
The beautiful cover art is from Claudia McKinney at Phatpuppy art and the cover typography is by Ashley at the Bookish Brunette. Thank you two for collaborating to create this amazing cover art. I’d like to thank the lovely model, Devin, for posing for both the RUA and RIVE covers.
I’d like to thank my Goodreads bookclub, Lovers of Paranormal, for letting me participate in the read to review program with my other works and cheering me on to finish the sequel. You guys are awesome.
I am always and forever thankful to readers. Thank you, for choosing this book.
