M
ercer sat in the Dragon’s Alley, drinking his beer and eating a lousy hamburger.

Dragon’s Alley was a particularly terrible biker bar by Mercer’s standards, and Mercer was familiar with terrible biker bars.

He finished his beer and ordered a second.

He leaned back against the bar, watching the crowd dance to lousy country music.

He was debating trying to pick up a girl so he wouldn’t have to pay for a hotel room, but he really didn’t feel like talking to anyone.

It had been a rough few days and he need some quiet time to think about his next step.

Just as he was about to leave, a girl in a tight, backless shirt came up to him.

“Hey, you’re, like, super serious, aren’t you?”

He didn’t really know what the question meant, but she was drunk and clearly didn’t care about the answer.

“I’m OK,” he said.

“You should learn to relax.

Come on, let’s do Jell-O shots.”

Mercer had never done a Jell-O shot in his life and wasn’t about to start now.

“I don’t think so.

I’m actually taking off.”

She grabbed his arm.

“No, don’t go.

We’re just getting to know each other.”

She rubbed her hand up and down his arm; Mercer made up his mind.

“Let’s get to know each other in a quieter place.”

She said they should go back to her house.

She was very happy to ride on the back of his bike.

She didn’t want to wear a helmet, but Mercer insisted.

She held on tight even though he wasn’t going very fast.

He felt her large breasts against his back.

Her hands were tight on his stomach until one went down to his crotch and rubbed his penis through his jeans.

He stiffened in his pants and sped around the corner to get her back to her bed as fast as possible.

She pointed out her house and he found a place to park half a block away.

He followed her inside, his eyes fixated on her round ass in her tight jeans.

She was bigger than average, and carried in her chest and rear.

Mercer anticipated a fun night.

Inside, the house was dark and she didn’t bother turning on any lights.

Mercer liked it better that way.

It meant they were getting right to business.

He was glad there was no small talk.

Too many times he went home with girls and they wanted a drink and a talk before heading to the bedroom.

It got on his nerves.

They both knew where it was heading, so why did they need the pretense of wanting to get to know each other?

They weren’t going to see each other again anyway.

This girl was different, though.

She wanted it right away.

In the bedroom, he pushed her down on the bed.

She landed on her stomach and he pinned her down.

“Yeah, baby.

Fucking take me,” she said.

Despite her tight pants, he got them down in one yank.

In the darkness he could see she was wearing light panties.

He smacked her big ass hard and she let out a delighted squeal.

He smacked her again, then trailed his hand down and touched her between her legs.

Her panties were wet to the touch.

He ran his finger between her folds and she pressed herself against him.

He pulled her pants off the rest of the way, then yanked her panties off.

Her round ass was pale and shone bright in the dark room.

He flipped her over and sat her up.

He put her hands on his belt and she knew what he wanted.

She undid his pants and pulled them down.

His cock sprang forward.

She grabbed it and stroked it.

“Wow.

You’re really packing, huh?”

Mercer didn’t respond.

Girls told him he had a big penis, but he never really thought about it.

He had never compared it to anyone else’s, so he couldn’t say, but he certainly never had any complaints.

“Put it in your mouth,” he said.

She slid it in and gave him head, turning him on even more with the wet sounds her mouth made.

He discovered that her shirt tied in the back, so he released the straps and pulled it off.

She reached back and unhooked her bra.

Naked, her big breasts bounced as she gave him head.

She took him out her mouth to catch her breath, so he turned her back over.

She was on all fours, her legs spread.

He entered her from behind, pushing his big cock deep inside her.

He grabbed her hips and fucked her hard.

She shouted out and he reached around her and worked her clit, all the while pumping her.

She came quickly. He felt her pussy quiver around him and he started to come.

Somewhere in the back of his head, he remembered he wasn’t wearing a condom, so he pulled out and sprayed her ass with his hot load.

She collapsed on the bed.

She mumbled something but Mercer didn’t catch it between her drunkenness and sleepiness.

He told her to repeat it, and could barely make out that she didn’t want him to stay.

Fuck that, he thought, she got what she wanted out of him. The least she could do was offer a bed for the night.

Mercer laid down next to her and fell asleep.

***

Mercer awoke from a deep sleep by his phone ringing.

He had dreamt he was being chased. When he woke, he was convinced the ringing phone was the sound of some weapon being used against him.

He thrust his hands out in front of him to ward off the attackers, but no one was there.

He realized the sound was coming from the phone.

He saw it was Doc, a friend of his from the motorcycle gang.

The last friend he had in the gang, in fact.

“Hey Doc.

What’s happening?”

“Hey kid.

Where are you?

Wait, don’t answer that.

I don’t want to know, but wherever you are, it isn’t far enough away.”

“Jesus, Doc.

I left town.

I’m never coming back.

You told me that Tank said if I stayed gone that would be the end of it.

What am I supposed to do?”

“I don’t know.

Maybe go to China and hide in a rice bowl.

All I know is, you leaving didn’t calm anything down.

Tank has decided you’re MC Enemy Number One and he isn’t going to stop until your head’s sitting between his bike’s handlebars.”

Mercer fell back into bed, but kept the phone next to his ear.

It wasn’t until then he realized the girl was snoring softly next to him.

Did he even know her name?

He couldn’t remember her ever telling him.

He didn’t think she’d learned his, either.

It didn’t matter. It was better that way.

He got out of bed, grabbed his jeans, and pulled them on with one hand while hanging onto the phone with the other.

“Tank might be looking for me, but he’ll never find me.

I’ve got a good head start and they don’t know what direction I even went.”

Doc’s voice got angry through the phone.

“Don’t get fucking cocky, kid.

That’s how you get dead.

Always keep an eye over your shoulder.

Tank might not know where you are right now, but he knows you went east.”

“How the fuck does he know that?”

Mercer looked out the window, as if expecting to see Tank and his flunkies rolling down the street towards the house. He only saw a big guy parking an F-350 across the street.

“No fucking clue, but judging from your response, he’s right.

That’s what I’m telling you, kid.

This guy wants you, and he’s not stopping.”

“Thanks, Doc.

Keep in touch.”

Mercer hung up the phone and pulled on his boots.

He caught a glimpse of himself in the mirror.

Long hair all over the place, shirtless, and thin from not getting enough to eat over the past few days.

He wanted some breakfast, but it would have to wait.

Right now he was heading towards his bike and he wasn’t going to stop until he was on other side of the state line.

He pulled his t-shirt on and carried his leather jacket to the door, making sure his keys were still hooked to his belt.

He walked out the door and was searching for cigarettes in his jacket pocket when he heard a pissed-off voice.

“What the fuck’re you doing?

Who the fuck are you?”

It was the big guy who’d been parking the truck a minute ago.

He was walking quickly towards Mercer.

He wanted a fight, that much was obvious.

Mercer just didn’t know what he wanted to fight about.

“None of your fucking business is who I am. What’s your problem?”

He stopped and looked at Mercer like he was crazy.

Mercer tried to look relaxed but was tensing up.

The big man was at least six inches taller than him and a hundred pounds heavier.

He had a big beard and was wearing a dirty trucker hat.

“The problem is you’re walking out of my house at 9 in the goddamn morning.

Where the fuck’s my wife?”

The early morning fog was clearing through Mercer’s head.

He had dealt with jealous husbands before, but none this big.

Besides, he didn’t want trouble right then.

He wanted to get on his bike and get the hell out of there.

He couldn’t see how Tank knew where he was, but that phone call from Doc had spooked him.

“Listen, man, I don’t anything about anyone’s wife.

Some girl picked me up at a bar last night and brought me here.

If you got a beef with someone, it’s her.”

The fire rose in the man’s eyes.

Mercer had obviously said the wrong thing.

The man jumped at Mercer.

He was expecting something, but he didn’t realize such a big man could be so quick.

Mercer dodged out of the way. The big man only managed to grab his leather jacket, so he let it go.

He spun quickly as the man went past, punching his big stomach.

The big guy let out a howl, but instead of going down, he grabbed Mercer and managed to get a good hit on his shoulder.

Mercer spun with the blow and got back up quickly.

He kicked the man in the shin, then grabbed his arm and twisted.

The man went down on his knees.

Mercer could have kept going.

In that moment, he could have broken the man’s arm, ruptured his spleen, or done any number of things, but he didn’t want to.

He just wanted to leave.

He dropped the man to the ground and picked up his jacket.

He continued to fish his cigarettes out of his jacket and lit one when he finally found them.

He only had time to take a couple of drags before he got to his bike.

He pulled his jacket on and rotated his shoulder.

The big man had no leverage so the blow didn’t hurt too bad, but he had a lot of weight to put behind the punch. Mercer knew his shoulder would be sore later.

He figured that was a problem for later.

There were enough problems right now.

Mercer tossed his cigarette and fired up the bike.

He took off down the street and passed the house he’d just left.

The big guy was already off the ground and going into his house.

Mercer wondered what was going to happen to the woman inside, but didn’t really care.

She shouldn’t have picked him up if she was married, or she should have told him why she didn’t want him to stay over.

That was her problem.

It didn’t matter to Mercer if she was married.

He’d been with lots of married women.

He actually preferred married women.

It was just easier.

They got what they wanted out of him, he got what he wanted out of them, and they didn’t want him to call or take them to breakfast.

They wanted him to leave and he wanted to leave.

It worked out perfectly.

He realized he had been driving for the last few minutes without really paying attention to where he was going.

He meant to keep driving east, but was surprised when he discovered he was back at the crossroads he’d passed the previous night.

He stopped the bike along the side of the road and and dismounted.  He hadn’t noticed the night before but the four way stop was in the absolute middle of nowhere.  There was nothing but flat land on all sides of him.  He felt for a moment like he was on the only person left in the world.  A flock of birds caught his eye over head, drawing his attention south.  He stood there for a minute.  He should go north.  If Tank knew he was heading east then he should change his direction and go north.  If he went north he could be in Chicago in just about four hours.  He’d never been.  It was a giant city, big enough to get lost in.  All he’d have to do is go into the first biker bar he could find, ask about the local clubs, and maybe try to join up.  He could fake a name and revise his history.  He could disappear.
