Jock and Lefty were at the clubhouse stocking the bar, just one of a prospect’s many duties. Lefty looked at Jock with a frown on his face. “Hey, Jock, why did Striker take our vests off of us the other day? Any idea what’s going on? I wanted to ask, but I know we’re never to question any of the brothers as to why we’re told to do something.”
Jock lifted up a keg of beer and set it under the bar to hook up the tap. “Nope. But I’m hoping it’s something good. Like, maybe we’re finally getting our colors?”
“I don’t know. I didn’t like the look on Striker’s face when he asked me for it. I hope you’re right and it’s nothing bad. Maybe we’re getting kicked out? I’ve only been prospecting for nine months. Maybe I fucked up somewhere,” Lefty said, his stomach tied in knots.
Jock stood up and looked for a pitcher to work the beer foam out of the lines. “Nothing we can do about it either way, so no sense worrying about it. We’ll find out soon enough, I guess.”
Jock and Lefty stood behind the bar watching as one brother after another walked into the clubhouse for the meeting in the chapel. Some of them snickered at the prospects as they walked by, but most of them had stoic looks on their faces. Striker was the one last to walk in carrying the duffel bag. He ordered all the girls out of the clubhouse and told Jock to lock the door before he disappeared into the chapel room.
Striker started the meeting with his usual fist pounding on the table. He looked around, making sure everyone was present. After taking care of the usual preliminaries, he said, “Okay, Roach, call them in.”
“Jock and Lefty, get your asses in here now!”
They looked at each other, took a deep breath, and walked in on shaky legs. Jock and Lefty looked around the table at all the serious faces and thought,
This is it
. Striker saw the beads of sweat on their foreheads and decided to have a little fun.
“You two men have been prospecting for some time, and I have some good news and bad news. Only one of you is getting patched in.” Striker didn’t crack a smile when he looked at them. “One of you fucked up bad.”
Jock and Lefty looked at each other, their faces going pale. Striker was enjoying it.
“Jock step forward.”
Jock bucked up and stood proudly before the guys. He figured if he was getting kicked out, he would take it like a man when all he really wanted to do was cry like a baby.
Striker opened up the duffel bag and pulled out his vest. “Here’s your colors. You’re a full-patched in member now.” Jock was so relieved, he let out a huge breath of air he didn’t even know he was holding.
“Lefty, step forward.”
Lefty felt his stomach start to churn.
Oh fuck!
He hoped he wasn’t going to puke in front of all the members. He was sick to think that he didn’t make it. Striker reached into the bag and Lefty watched, wide-eyed, as he pulled out a vest with his name and colors on it.
“Here’s your colors, bro. You’re patched in too. Congratulations to you both.” Striker clapped him on the back. “Was just havin’ some fun with ya!”
Lefty was relieved and pissed off at the same time. He felt like smacking that grin right off of Striker’s face. He wondered if that would set a new record of someone getting his colors and losing them within five minutes. That thought made him laugh and his mood lightened up.
“Meeting’s over.” Striker raised his fist in the air this time. “Time to fuckin’ celebrate!” Whoops and cheers were shouted out.
The brothers jumped up and dragged Jock and Lefty into the bar room. Drinks were flowing and Lefty and Jock were handed shot after shot of Jack Daniels. They both thought their shoulders were going to break from all the claps on their backs. After a while, Roach unlocked the door and the newly patched-in members were pulled outside. Roach punched Jock in the nose and blood dripped down onto his vest while JD picked up a pile of dirt and rubbed it over his new patches. Another member brought over a cup of beer and poured it all over Lefty’s vest while Mick rubbed dirt on that one. The brothers were enjoying dirtying the new, clean patches, all part of breaking them in. No brother wanted to walk around with patches that looked brand new.
The club girls were waiting in their cars for their turn. They rushed over when they saw the brothers pull the new members outside. Two girls dropped to their knees to unzip Jock and Lefty’s jeans and suck them off. One girl broke out into laughter. “This one’s so drunk he can’t even cum.”
The jukebox was turned up high and the sound of music boomed through the speakers that were built into the club’s new pavilion. Jaz gave ten thousand dollars of her dad’s illegal drug money to the club in thanks for them saving her life. The brothers decided they needed a huge pavilion built outside along with a new barbeque pit. They also had a bar built into it at one end with a big overhang in case it rained. Drifter built up the bonfire until it was blazing with its orange flames shooting high into the sky.
Holly, Jaz, and Renee arrived there a little while later followed by some other old ladies. They all brought a covered dish, plus bags of chips and pretzels, plus some homemade dips. They put the food on a picnic table in the pavilion and smelled the delicious aroma of a pig that had been roasting on the pit for hours.
Mick saw Renee as soon as she got out of Jaz’s car. He walked over to her and led her to an empty table. He stood her on top of it. He had to yell at the top of his lungs to be heard.
“You all don’t know her, but this is Renee, my old lady.” The brothers all hooted and cheered for Mick. Next thing Renee knew, she was lifted down onto the ground and led over to where the food and drinks were. After Mick helped her load her plate with food, he led her to another table where Jaz and Holly were sitting. Renee drank a few beers and liked feeling the buzz that came over her. For once in her life, she decided she was going to let loose and have some fun for a change. She felt safe and secure by Mick’s side. She knew Mick wouldn’t let any harm come to her.
She turned her head and caught sight of a silhouette near the bonfire. Some guy was standing in front of the flames and a girl was kneeling down. Her head was moving back and forth and Renee knew she was sucking him off. She didn’t want to watch, but then… she
did
want to. Mixed with the booze, it turned her on.
She started nibbling on Mick’s neck, her hands caressing up and down his wide chest, losing all her inhibitions. Renee was panting in his ear, “I’m so hot right now, honey.”
When she started gyrating her body against him, Mick couldn’t wait. He swooped her up and carried her over to his bike. He unzipped his jeans and in one swift jerk, he pulled down her pants and fancy black lace panties. He bent her over the seat and buried himself to the hilt in her slick hot pussy.
Renee’s orgasm was so earth shattering she screamed out her release. “Oh my God, Mick. Do you think anyone heard?” Then she laughed as she helped Mick adjust her clothing. “On second thought, who the hell cares if they did? That was fantastic!” she yelled out loud, the booze making her reckless.
“Nah, baby, no worries.” Mick had to laugh. Renee didn’t know that was just an ordinary sound at these parties.
By the time he led her back over near the fire, Renee needed to pee. He walked with her into the clubhouse and stopped dead. “Uh, maybe you’d be better off using the outhouse.” He pushed her back out the door before she got a look at the girl lying naked on a table in the far corner of the room. One guy held her by her hair and was fucking her mouth while the other one had his dick plunged into her pussy.
Later that night, it started to rain. Then, the sky opened up and a heavy downpour flooded a dirt part of the field. Girls ran out from under the pavilion into the rain and started having fun, sliding around in the mud. One drunk girl ripped her top off and was flinging it around, then let it fly. Other girls joined in the fun and soon they were topless and dancing to the loud music with rivers of rain running down their bodies.
Holly jumped up from the table. “Come on girls, let’s have some fun!” Holly had just walked out into the rain when she was grabbed from behind and carried back under the pavilion.
“Sit your ass down here and behave,” Striker bellowed at her. “Nobody sees your tits but me.” Striker kissed her long and deep. Holly pouted, but she stayed put.
JD and Mick walked over with more drinks for the girls. Jaz threw her arms around JD’s neck and her legs wrapped around his waist. They started making out, hot and heavy. He picked her up and carried her inside.
Mick sat down and pulled Renee into his strong embrace, nibbling on her neck and running his hands over her body. Renee felt dizzy and swayed. Then she puked.

The next thing Renee knew, she was waking up in her bed, stark naked amid tangled sheets, with bright sunlight shining in through the window. She lifted her head then plopped it back down and flung her arm over her eyes. Her head was pounding.
“Good morning,” Mick called out as he entered the bedroom wearing his lounging pants hanging low on his hips. “I see you’re finally awake,” he grinned.
Renee groaned. She couldn’t believe how happy and chipper Mick was this morning. “Close the curtains,” she cried out.
“Can’t handle your booze, huh?”
“No fair, Mick. I don’t usually drink.”
“I know, baby.” He winked. “But I like you when you drink.”
Renee blushed, thinking of how horny she got. “I’m sorry, honey, if I ruined your night.”
“Never be sorry with me, babe. Besides, you didn’t ruin anything. You being there meant the world to me.” He leaned over Renee and kissed her gently. “Here, I made you my special hangover drink. It’ll help you feel better real soon.”
Renee didn’t like the color of the liquid, and then she lifted it to her nose. “It doesn’t smell too bad. What is it?”
“Ginger root tea. The best concoction for hangovers, trust me. I’ve drank it enough times to know,” he joked. “I made it myself from fresh ginger root, which I always keep on hand.”
Renee drank most of it down, then went back to sleep.

When she woke up later, she glanced at her alarm clock. She couldn’t believe she’d slept until late afternoon.
At least my head doesn’t feel like it’s being squeezed through a vise anymore,
she mused to herself. She jumped out of bed in a panic and got dressed. She was worried about Michael and wanted to get over to her dad’s. She was already hours late to pick him up.
She walked downstairs to see Mick lying on the parlor floor with Michael crawling all over him, giggling away. Her heart did a somersault full of love and happiness as it always did, seeing Mick and Michael together.
“Look who’s here! It’s mommy.” Mick pointed to Renee. Michael raised out his chubby arms to Renee. She hurried over to lift him up and give him a big hug. Michael started giggling louder.
“When did you pick up Michael?”
Mick smiled his sexy dimple-showing smile that she loved so much. “Right after you fell back to sleep this morning. We had a fun day together, and he’s got to be ready for a nap by now. I know I’m ready for one after keeping up with him all day,” he muttered.
Renee turned to head upstairs with Michael in her arms. “If I remember correctly, you still owe me a shower, and I still have a negligee to model for you, unless you’re too tired,” she teased.
Mick jumped up from the floor and ran up the stairs after Renee. “Never that tired, baby.”
Renee was excited, but a little nervous at the same time. It was Mick’s birthday and she had a special surprise for him. Mick never pushed her to do anything she was uncomfortable with as far as his lifestyle went, so she wanted to do something meaningful for him.
Mick walked in the door looking so sexy, Renee still couldn’t believe that he was all hers.
“Hey, babe. Your dad said not to worry about Michael if he’s not home until this evening. He and Jenny are taking him to the farmer’s market over in Green Grove and then for ice cream at that new place that opened up.” He walked over to Renee and wrapped his muscular arms around her and kissed her lips. “We have the whole day just for us. What would you like to do today?”
“I’d like to go for a ride on your bike, and I’ve been thinking.” She looked up at Mick, wanting to see the expression on his face when she told him her news. “I want to get a tattoo.”
Mick’s eyes widened and then he smiled. He whispered in her ear, “I love that idea. You sure, my reckless love?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, babe. I know just the place for you to get one. A friend of mine has a tattoo shop and you’ll have your nice bike ride to get there, too.”
She hurried to tie her hair back and ran upstairs to throw on a pair of jeans and find her black boots. Mick was waiting when she came back down. They walked outside hand-in-hand. Mick gave Renee her helmet, then got on his Harley and helped her to get on.
Renee was thrilled. She loved being on the back of his bike, riding with the wind on her face. The vibrations of the bike felt exhilarating. She held onto Mick tightly as he sped onto the interstate away from town.
Walking into the tattoo shop, Mick asked Renee if she knew what she wanted. “I want a red rose on my hip.” She looked at him shyly. “And I want your name on it.”
Adam greeted Mick with a handshake “Back for another tat, my friend?”
“My wife wants to get a tat, and I want to be the one doing it. That okay with you?”
“Sure thing, man.”
Renee walked into the back room and Mick helped her to get on the table and lie down.
“You ready, babe?”
Renee bit her lip, closed her eyes and nodded. Mick took his time and kept checking to see how Renee was holding up.
“You okay, babe?”
Renee would nod that she was fine. When he was done, Renee had a pretty red rose on her hip with a twisty leafed stem that ran down below it. “Mick” was tattooed on the largest leaf under the rose. Renee finally opened her eyes and looked down.
“I just love it! Happy Birthday, honey.” She smiled at Mick.
Mick kissed Renee tenderly, “Thank you, babe. It’s the best present you could have given me.”
They stopped off at a little diner and had a late lunch before heading home. Meatloaf and mashed potatoes was the special of the day. Mick was picking up his forkful of mashed potatoes when he stopped and looked at Renee. She was just about to taste the meatloaf. They both burst out laughing at the same time, remembering Jaz’s supper that one night. Mick plopped his forkful of potatoes into his mouth and smiled. “Delicious.”
Heading home, when they got near Fulton, Mick pulled into a field and stopped. He helped Renee off his bike, grabbed a blanket from his saddle bag, and took her hand. They walked a little further into the field where it was more private and suddenly Mick stopped. Renee looked at him quizzically.
“This is the field where it all started. Do you remember?”
“Of course I remember. I was picking blueberries and you stopped to help me, thinking I was hurt.” She couldn’t help laughing as she thought back. “You were mad when you found out it was just spilled blueberries. You thought a snake had bitten me or something.”
“Yeah, then it rained and we headed to that little shack. My life changed forever that day, babe. Changed for the best. I love you, Renee, more than I ever thought was possible.”
Renee was getting all teary-eyed. “I love you too, honey.” Renee fingered the gold chain and pendant she wore around her neck.
Mick wrapped his arms around Renee and pulled her close. “I thought we could try for another name to add onto that pendant. Here, in our special place.”
Renee threw her arms around his neck and whispered in his ear. “I’d love that, and I hope it will be another boy so we can name him Mick, after you.”
Mick laughed. “Babe, I already have a son named after me. My real name is Michael. What I’d love to have is a little girl with your auburn hair, freckles, and your gorgeous big, blue eyes.”
Renee couldn’t believe how lucky she was to have Mick in her life. Sometimes, dark memories would creep into her mind about her time spent with Peter. She would shudder just thinking about how her life could have ended up. He was the exact opposite of Mick.
Mick didn’t care to dress in anything but jeans and t-shirts and he didn’t shower her with flowers and candy, but his love was pure and genuine and so tender and sweet. Deep down, Renee knew he would cherish her and Michael, always. She still dreamt at night, but those horrible nightmares had turned into peaceful, sweet dreams.
Standing with Mick’s strong arms wrapped around her, Renee’s heart was overflowing with love. She had her loving man, her precious son, and her dream house with the white picket fence, and she knew…
She had found her happily-ever-after.
