Chapter 18:

2 months later…

Rayna

“Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Ahleyaaaaaa. Happy birthday to youuuuu
,

everybody sang as Ahleya looked around at everyone with those big beautiful eyes.

“Blow your candles out, mama” I heard a deep voice say. I looked up, surprised that he was here.

“Why you looking like that? You think I was just going to miss my daughter’s birthday party because of our issues?” I stood there speechless. I hadn’t seen Ace since everything had unfolded that night, and I must admit that he was looking sexy as ever.

“Ken,” I heard Ahleya yell, and I saw Slick holding Kenyah, picking up Ahleya in his other arm so she could see Kenyah.

“Gimme my baby,” Ace said, grabbing Ahleya.

“Dadadadada,” she said, giving him kisses all over his face.

“That girl loves the hell out of her daddy,” Gena said, smiling at Ahleya and Ace.

“Kenyah gets just as excited when she sees Slick, so cut it out. Us mothers are the less fun ones, I guess,” I said laughing.

“Nah, that ain’t it. We just know how to tell them no. Their dad’s always give them whatever,” Gena replied.

“Yea, well they used to do us the same way,” I sighed.

“Rayna, you have got to stop beating yourself up about that shit. What’s done is done. You don’t know who the baby belongs to, so leave that stressing for another day when you actually find out. Even then, you must remember that God makes no mistakes.” I shook my head and gave her a fake smile. “Quit playing with me, bitch,” she laughed.

“Help me cut this cake and pass it out. Make yaself useful,” I told her, cutting through the layers of the cake.

Ace

“Damn, Rayna looks good man,” I said to Slick, taking a sip out of my glass.

“Look at you. I don’t know why you trying to be so damn hard. That could still be your baby that she’s carrying, and you don’t even call and check on the girl. I’m not perfect, and I fucked up just about the whole time Gena was pregnant, but I regret the hell out of all that shit because I left a permanent scar in her heart that just won’t fuckin heal. Now she’s just about as ruthless as I used to be. I know you don’t want Rayna to turn into that kind of person,” Slick said, breaking everything down to me. “Did I tell you I got the results back from that fuck ass DNA test China had me do?” he asked me.

“Nah, you ain’t tell me,” I said, taking a bite out of my burger.

“That bitch say I’m the daddy, but the shit ain’t adding up.” I raised my eyebrow surprised.

“What don’t add up?” I asked.

“Just the dates, and I’m not talking about a couple weeks. She had to be at least a couple months pregnant before I even fucked her, now she saying it’s mine. Some shit ain’t right, man.”

“Where you got the test done at?” I asked him curiously.

“That clinic downtown where that bitch I used to fuck with works at,” he said. I thought about it for a minute before bursting out laughing. “What’s funny, nigga?” Slick asked with a straight face.

“Nothing man, listen to what you just said. Looks like you got double crossed. A bitter bitch will do anything to make your life hell, especially for some money. You’re done for.”

“Damn, I ain’t never think about that shit. I’m just gonna have the baby retested when he’s born. Damn, they caught me slipping,” he said, thinking about what I had just said.

“Yeah, I need you to get back on yo shit ‘cause you been sounding like a real green ass nigga lately,” I said, scratching my forehead.

“Aye, shut the fuck up nigga and make sure you do better with yo damn situation, talking about me.” I waved him off and walked over to where Ahleya was sitting with Rayna eating some mac and cheese.

“Hey daddy’s girl,” I said, picking her up; she laid her head on my chest, signaling that she was getting sleepy. “She’s tired, the party's over, so how about you wrap everything up so we can take everything back to Gena’s house, and I can put her down for a nap? You know how she gets when she's really tired.” Rayna nodded her head in agreement, getting up and wrapping everything up, and thanking everyone for coming. I grabbed a few gift bags in one hand and held Ahleya in the other arm, taking everything to Rayna’s Range Rover. When everything was packed up, I strapped Ahleya in her car seat and headed to Gena’s house.

“She got a lot of nice stuff” Gena said, watching Rayna put Ahleya’s clothes up.

“It is a lot, and you see her daddy isn’t trying to help,” Rayna tried to whisper, but I heard her. Slick elbowed me.

“What nigga,” I said, looking at him.

“If you don’t go help that damn girl.” I looked down at Ahleya, trying to find an excuse.

“Nah, I’ll put her and Kenyah in the bed,” Slick said, picking both of the girls up and heading toward the room to lay them down. I walked into the room where Rayna and Gena were putting away all of the clothes Ahleya had gotten from various family members. Gena saw me come in and eased out of the room. Rayna had her back turned.

“Gena, these niggas ain’t shit,” she said chuckling, obviously continuing the conversation they were having before I walked into the room. “Gena,” she said before turning around, realizing that I was in the room instead of Gena. Her eyes went straight to the floor, and she tried to walk past me. I put my hand on her waist, pulling her back into the room. For the first time, I look down and noticed her little pudge. I put my forehead on hers.

“I know I fucked up real bad, but I needed you, Anthony,” she said, starting to break down in my arms. I felt a lump get stuck in my throat.

“Stop,” I said softly, trying to get her to calm down but it wasn’t working. I sat her down next to me on the bed “I’m here now, Rayna. I know shit is fucked up right now, but I’m going to accept my part in this whole situation as well. I’ve been in denial, but I got you. The baby that you’re carrying could very well be mine, and I need to step up. I’m also sorry I put my hands around your neck. I wasn’t raised like that.” I felt bad that she was doing all of this stressing while carrying a child, a child that may very well be mine.

“Anthony, you know Rico has been helping me through this pregnancy.” I felt my jaw tighten.

“I figured he would, Rayna. I can’t blame him, but I really don’t want you around him anymore.” She looked up at me like I was crazy.

“Ace, I have to share this pregnancy with the both of you, we don’t know what the outcome will be so I have to be fair; plus, he has been here helping me through this hard time. If it wasn’t for him Ace, I’m sure I would have lost this baby.” It hurt my heart to hear that come out of her mouth, because I’m the only person she should talk about that way.

“I really don’t give a fuck about none of that, Rayna. Please don’t let me catch you with him.” She took a step away from me.

“I think I should stay at Gena’s until the baby is born. You can’t just think you can come back into my life after two months of not being around and tell me what I can and cannot do. That man has lost his whole family. Other than his kids, I’m all he has and two months ago, he was all I had so I’m sorry Anthony, but I can’t do that.” My heart hit my feet, and I felt rage building up inside of me.

“We’ll finish this discussion later,” I said, walking out of her room and into the living room.

“Where’s Ahleya?” I asked Gena.

“In Kenyah’s room playing with her and Slick.” I walked in seeing Slick making faces at both girls, making them laugh at the top of their lungs.

“Nigga you soft,” I said, picking Ahleya up.

“I know you ain’t talking. I got all this shit from you.” I laughed and dapped him up. I took Ahleya to the car and strapped her in before driving off in the direction of my house.

Gena

“Kendrick, get out,” I said, covering up my body as I stepped out of the shower.

“Girl, if you don’t shut the fuck up, like I ain’t been all up in that.”

“It has been way too long for you to feel like you can still walk in the bathroom while I’m getting out of the shower, nigga. Where is my baby, and where is Rayna nem?” I asked, putting my hair into a loose bun.

“Well, Ace and Ahleya just left, Rayna just left with her other man, and Kenyah is sleep,” he said, resting his elbows on his thighs. I looked him over and he was handsome as ever. I see why he impregnated me so damn quickly. He had his hair perfectly faded, wearing his grey sweat pants and a white T-shirt, with white 11’s on.

“You like what you see, huh,” he said, looking up and flashing those pearly whites, making my juices make an appearance in between my legs. He was sitting on my bathroom counter, so I started to walk past him before things escalated. I almost made it past him when I felt him snatch my towel from around my body.

“Kendrick!” He hopped off the counter, walking me into the wall and pinning my hands over my head. “Stop playing with me, Ragena,” he said into my ear, causing the hairs to stand up on the back of my neck. I looked into his eyes and he licked my neck, making me shiver.

“Mmm,” is all I could let out at that very moment. He walked me back over to the counter and bent me over, grabbing one leg and placing it by the sink. He bent down and buried his face deep into my juices. I let out the loudest moan; I couldn’t even suppress it, then he started to flick his tongue across my clit, taking small sucks on it in between and causing me to shake against my will.

“Fuuuck,” I said, riding the wave that had just come over me. He held my leg in place, and I started to relax until I felt his rod push against my insides, feeling him give me deep long strokes, causing my eyes to roll to the back of my head. My legs started to get weak.

“Hell no, you better not even think about it. You better stand the fuck up. You know how long it’s been since I’ve been in my pussy? Stand up,” he demanded.

“I-I C-can’t,” I moaned, knowing that it would be impossible for me to keep my balance for much longer. He picked me up and took me to my bed.

“Damn, you are so sexy. I missed your body,” he said while kissing my neck and sliding himself back inside me at the same time.

“Fuck Kendrick!” I yelled as he started to rearrange my insides.

“What’s my name?” he asked while pulling my hair.

“K-Kendrickkkkkk,” I moaned.

*SLAP*

“Wrong answer,” he said after slapping my ass. He started to pump faster and harder. “What is my fucking name,” he said looking me in my eyes.

“Dadddyyyyyy!” I yelled while reaching my peak once again. I loved the idea of being dominated, and he was doing just that.

“Ohh shit, I’m about to nut,” he said before grunting and filling me with his warm liquid.

“Damn,” we both said at the same time, causing us to erupt into laughter.

“I miss this,” I admitted.

“Me too, Gena. I wanna work shit out because Kenyah deserves the both of us and I love you to death, but for some reason you’re so stuck on this Kay nigga. WHY?” he asked, sounding annoyed.

“Can we just enjoy this moment, baby?” I said groggily.

“Awww, daddy done put you to bed, huh?” he asked grinning.

“Shut upppp,” I said laughing.

“So do you want me to leave?” he asked me. I thought about it for a second.

“I think you should stay,” I said before snuggling up as close to him as I could. He wrapped his arms around me and I drifted off to sleep, knowing what I’d have to do to keep my family together.

Chapter 19:

Rayna

“He told me that he didn’t want me talking to you at all,” I said, laying on Rico’s chest in his new home.

“Well I’m guessing you’ll just have to decide what you want then, Rayna.”

“I don’t want to commit to you and then it ends up being his baby,” I said sadly.

“Look at me,” he said, tilting my chin so I was looking him in the eyes. “I know exactly what I got myself into. Do you think you’d be here right now if that shit mattered to me?” he said, rubbing the small belly I had formed. I thought about it for a second.

“I guess you’re right,” I said, squeezing him tighter. My phone beeped, notifying me that I had a text message. I opened the message from an unknown number stating:

“Hello Miss Rayna. I’d like to have a few words with you. We can meet and have lunch. I’m sure you can figure out who this is without me telling you. Have a good day.”

“Ric, do you know this number?” I said, showing him the phone.

“What the fuck,” I heard him say under his breath.

“What?” I questioned.

“That’s Layla’s number,” he replied. I thought about it for a minute, and decided to text her back telling her that I would meet her.

“What are you doing?” he questioned.

“I’m going to talk to her,” I simply replied.

“Why, you’re already stressed out. That would be too much. You don’t owe her an explanation. I do, and I did that,” he stressed.

“I know Ric, but I would feel a lot better if I just did it. I feel horrible for what I did to her, even though I had no idea that you were married when this all started,” I explained.

“Okay, but I’m coming too. I won’t interfere. You guys won’t even see me, but I’ll be there,” he said, closing his eyes.

“Okay, I guess.”

“Come here,” he said, pulling me onto his chest. He started rubbing his fingers through my hair, causing my eyes to flutter. “I don’t know what it is about you Rayna, but I feel like I wouldn’t be able to live without you.”

Hearing him say that made my heart skip a beat. I looked up at him, shedding a tear in the process. He wiped my tear away with his thumb, pulling my chin closer and giving me a kiss.

“Don’t worry about anything. As long as I’m around, you’ll be good.” I squeezed him tight because those words meant so much.

”Thank you, Ric. I can’t believe how good of a person you are. When I first met you, you seemed so stuck up.” He looked at me sideways

“No. I was just here to do my job, and only that. This wasn’t in the plan. I’m not a stuck up person at all.”

“Well I know that now Ric, I have to go pee,” I said, getting out of the bed and walking to the bathroom. Even though I was only three months, I had a little pudge that was very noticeable if I wore certain types of shirts, but thankfully I wasn’t wobbling or anything yet. Hopefully I never would.
