Moved beyond words, Quinn held his newborn son in his arms. He had never believed in miracles, until he met Seleena, and now he couldn’t help wondering what he had ever done to be so richly blessed. He had been gifted with a child, healthy and whole. He had a wonderful wife who loved him unconditionally in spite of his faults and his past. He could ask for nothing more.
As Seleena had only moments before, Quinn counted each tiny finger and toe before pressing a kiss to his son’s cheek. It was downy soft, as was his thick black hair.
Quinn looked at his woman, now sleeping peacefully. She had never looked more beautiful, and he had never loved her more.
After dropping a soft kiss on her brow, he tiptoed out of their bedroom. In the living room, he lowered himself into the rocking chair, his gaze lingering on the face of his son.
With a low purr, Freyja curled up at Quinn’s feet, all her former animosity apparently forgotten.
Quinn closed his eyes, content to rock the baby as his thoughts wandered over the changes the last few months had wrought.
Seleena had enlarged her bedroom - now their room - and redecorated it in shades of pale blue and dark green.
With the aid of her magic, she had added a nursery to their home, then furnished it with every possible thing a new baby might need.
Nardik had wed Amerris as soon as her mourning period was over. When Quinn had last seen the wizard, he seemed content.
Annis appeared to be blissfully happy. She and Rajj were expecting a baby in a few months. Wyrick proclaimed it would be a girl.
Marri and Gryff were expecting their second child.
Brynn Tor was at peace under Marri’s reign.
And life was good.
Amanda Ashley is one of those rare birds—a California native. She’s lived in Southern California her whole life and loves it. She married her high school sweetheart and they have three sons, all handsome enough to be cover models!
Amanda never intended to be a published author. It just happened. She has always loved to read, though.
The Black Stallion
books,
Nancy Drew
, Mary Stewart. And then she discovered romance novels. One night when her husband was at work, her kids were in bed and there was nothing on TV, she sat down and started writing a book of her own. And she’s been writing ever since.
Amanda and her alter ego, Madeline Baker, have written over seventy books, many of which have appeared on various bestseller lists, including the
New York Times
list, the Waldenbooks Bestseller list, and the
USA Today
list. Not bad for someone who started writing just for the fun of it.
