She pressed a hand at his nape, her other hand trailing down to grasp at his hip, aching to get closer. Their coming together had a sense of inevitability. And their denying it had only made it grow stronger. With each touch, each stroke, she grew more frenzied; their uncontrolled passion threatened to consume her.

She drew back just enough to close her hand over his thick shaft, uncertain of what to do—yet doing it. Her fist stroked up, down, pumping his flesh as she'd watched him do all those nights ago.

"Harder. Like this." He closed his fingers over hers, showing her.

His words emboldened her. She tightened her grip, milking his flesh, determined to bring him pleasure.

He made a strangled noise. "That's it."

"You like a firm touch."

"We both do."

To emphasize, he bent, took her nipple in his mouth and sucked lightly. He drew his tongue lazily around her aureole, teasing. Then he sucked harder, grasping her with his teeth and tugging. She arched beneath him.

"More," she hissed.

He raised, trailing kisses down her stomach to her navel, as he shifted to the end of the bed. He grasped her ankles, easing her legs open, before bending low, to press a kiss to the inside of her knee. Then he inched upward, edging her legs further apart.

He nibbled at the soft skin inside her thigh, watched her jump. Continuing upward, he heard her draw a sharp breath as his cheek brushed her pubic curls. He inhaled, savoring her sweet scent.

He debated kissing her there, but didn't. There would be time in the future to explore everything. When she felt more comfortable. And when he didn't feel like he'd die if he wasn't soon inside her.

He shifted, trailing his mouth across her abdomen and slowly making his way back up to her breast. He latched onto her nipple in full and sucked. Hard. Her reaction was swift. Demanding. Her fingers speared through his damp hair holding him in place. Her hips
arched, brushing against his knee. He moved closer, let her rock her pelvis back and forth against his leg as his mouth continued its play on her breasts.

At her whimper, he pulled away. Sitting up, he reached for a foil package. Opening the condom, he slid it on, pinched the end to form a reservoir.

Then he moved over her, his large frame dwarfing hers. He rested his arms on either side, to support his weight as he gave her a moment to get used to him. To his body. As he got used to hers. She was so goddamned tiny. And as delicate as a butterfly. He felt scared and excited him at the same time.

Renata felt his erection press against her as he slid his sheathed length against her center, not entering, just rubbing. He felt over-large, foreign. And she wanted him desperately.

He pressed kisses above her eyes, then moved lower to catch her mouth. His pelvis ground against hers in that maddening back and forth motion. She moaned.

"You okay?" he whispered.

Renata rocked her hips, trying to increase the pressure while loath to break the kiss. He was driving her mad, taking her to the brink, then leaving her suspended.

"I won't be okay until you're inside me. I beg you—"

Adam silenced her, thrusting the head of his penis inside her. He paused, barely possessing her as he ran his lips along the edge of her jaw. "I should be begging you. For this."

His sudden penetration made her dizzy. She'd expected it, craved it, yet still she wasn't prepared for his stark invasion.

As the sharp edge of sensation melted into pleasure, she realized he had stopped on purpose—to allow her
body to adjust. She ran her hands down his back, urging him forward seeking relief.

"Ready for more?"

"All," she demanded.

A wicked gleam lit his eyes. "My pleasure."

Grasping her hands, he eased them up, one at a time, over her head. The move brought his weight more fully against her lower body as he slid further into her, filling her.

Renata's world shifted. While part of her felt he couldn't—wouldn't—fit, another part knew he had to. She'd perish without this.

"Ease your leg up," he encouraged. "It will help."

She raised her knee. The move brought him fully into her. She felt her body resist, then melt. A raw, delicious ache followed by a slow, heated burn.

He pulled back, withdrawing. Then pushed back in. Deeper.

She groaned as each press of his body rubbed her clitoris, the back and forth motion tormenting her. Seeking release, she drew her leg up further, to his waist and pressed wholly against him. The pressure increased, the sensation sharpened.

Adam threw his head back, flexing fully into her. He'd tried to go slow and easy, but now he couldn't hold back. He had fantasized a hundred times about making love to her. But nothing came close to this. Being inside her.

He thrust deep and paused, savoring the luscious clutch of her sheath. "I can't take much more."

"Then don't." She raised and took his flat nipple into her mouth, kissing, sucking.

Adam hissed control lost. Pumping his hips, he moved in and out of her, his strokes long and sure, gathering momentum. He watched as the first wave of her orgasm hit. Her eyes widened, her breath coming in rapid-fire pants. She cried out, a wild, satisfying keening.

It was over. Adam felt his testicles tighten. He stiffened as his own climax peaked and released hot sperm exploding. He roared, plunging furiously into her as the fire washed over him, taking him crashing over the edge.

While she slept, Adam got up. As much as he wanted to stay in bed, he needed to contact his brother and make arrangements to get Renata out.

With the room's heavy drapes, it was difficult to tell that it was barely ten in the morning. He wondered briefly what Lyle was doing. Peeking out the window, he eyed the pay phone. It was close to the office but he had to risk it.

Shrugging into clothes, he whispered to Renata that he'd be right back. The bright sunlight nearly blinded him as he slipped outside.

Zach answered on the first ring.

"This isn't a good time." On the off chance the phone was bugged, Adam had to be careful what he said. "Where are you?"

"Colorado. Just across the Utah border, within a few miles of Flaming Gorge."

"Stay put. I've been delayed, but I'll get there."

"Problems?"

Adam gave him a condensed version of the car accident. "I'll see about getting new wheels—"

The blinds at the office parted. Someone watched. The door opened and a man hurried toward him, a hastily thrown-on shirt left unbuttoned.

"Gotta go. I'll call back soon." Adam hung up just as the man reached him.

"If you need a phone, use the one inside the office," the man said. "Best you keep out of sight."

Adam nodded toward Lyle's room. "Has he been up yet?"

The man shook his head. "My niece, Wanda, left about an hour ago and said Lyle was pretty much passed out. She'll be back after work. She said you'd driven all night so I didn't figure I'd see either of you till later this afternoon."

"Actually, I'm supposed to run an important errand for them. Any idea when another car will arrive?"

"I was told to expect you here at least two nights, possibly three, so I wouldn't expect anything till tomorrow. Maybe the next day." The man scratched his chest. "Want me to see if I can scare up something temporary?"

"I'd be obliged."

Adam hurried back to the room. Two more nights? It shouldn't surprise him, given his dealings with the McEdwins thus far. Who knew how much longer Willy would keep up this cat and mouse game? Two days could stretch into another week.

But at least Renata would be gone. In fact, if the man didn't get Adam transportation by this afternoon, he'd see if he could borrow Wanda's car.

Back in the room, he undressed. Renata was awake.

"Anything new?" she asked.

"Not yet." He told her about his call to Zach.

"Eager to get rid of me?" She tried to joke.

"Yeah." He climbed in bed, drew her close. "Go back to sleep."

She snuggled into him. Her hand dipped low, her fingers stroking the swollen ridge of his penis. A soft sound escaped her throat as she grasped him fully. "I don't think I can. Sleep that is."

"Me neither." He grabbed for a condom. Maybe this time, they'd take it slowly.

Slowly never happened. The morning passed in a blur fueled by sleep deprivation. Not the tortuous type of denial, but rather the sweet, delicious muddle born of waking every hour to make love, fast and furious.

Renata felt suspended in another sphere, her sense of time and place discombobulated. With the heavy curtains drawn tight, the room remained dark, shadowy. Yet it was the middle of the day. Which added to her disorientation.

The dramatic change of circumstances with Adam hadn't helped. She'd gone from captive to lover, in the flick of a bed sheet.

What was odd was that she felt no guilt. She'd spent the entire morning in bed—was sore from too much sex.
Not enough.
Where was the regret? The recriminations?

God, what had come over her?

She opened her eyes, not ready to face her thoughts, and found Adam looming over her, his beautiful brow lined with concern.

She closed her eyes, not ready to face him either.

"Look at me, Renata." He ran his finger across her cheek. "I wish our first time had been under different circumstances. But it wasn't. Which doesn't make it any less special. And if—"

A noise caught his attention. A low squeak followed by a scrape. He tucked her behind him and grabbed his gun just seconds before the door burst open. Two men entered.
