after my shower.”

“Be quick about it. Dinner’s almost done.” Brad turned to the

refrigerator and fished for whatever else he needed to finish

cooking. “And you know, if those pricks keep giving you shit at

work, you can report them. It’s caled a hostile work environment.

There are laws in place—”

“I’m not ratting anyone out,” Gavin said dismissively as he

walked out of the kitchen, not surprised Brad went back to that

topic. Worrying about the bulies at Gavin’s work was Brad’s

favorite pastime. “Let it go. The only one who cares what those

pricks say is you. I could honestly care less.”

“I want you to be happy.”

“I’m happy! I’m pleased as fucking punch! Now wil you lay

off?”

Sometimes having a boyfriend was sort of like dealing with an

overprotective mother hen, which Gavin had more than enough of

with six sisters and a mother who thought of gay marriage as a

potential bargaining chip he could hand to God in the hopes of

saving his soul.

And they al wondered why he didn’t go to church anymore.

Gavin took care of his utility belt, but the rest of his clothes

ended up in a pile on the floor. He was tired and hungry and craving

some quality bedroom time with his boyfriend. He got into the

shower, determined to get it over with as quickly as possible, but

the hot water felt better than he’d anticipated. Once his hair and

body were soaped and clean, he got lost in the feel of the shower

beating against his back, wiling the wet heat to wash away the last

stresses of the day.

“I missed you too.”

Gavin lifted his head, frowning at Brad through the frosted

glass. “What?”

“I missed you too,” Brad repeated. “I got distracted and

didn’t say it earlier. But I wanted you to know.”

Gavin closed his eyes, suppressing a laugh, knowing this was

Brad’s grudging attempt at relationship politics. More often than

not, Gavin found his fledgling efforts at love and commitment both

entertaining and endearing, but he was careful not to express too

much amusement because Brad got genuinely pissed off about it.

“Wel, thanks.” Gavin turned off the water and opened the

shower door to find Brad leaning against the bathroom sink drinking

a beer. “What happened to dinner?”

“It’s ready, just simmering.” Brad’s gaze ran over Gavin as

he worked on drying himself off. His eyebrows rose in appreciation,

his voice husky as he said, “It’d be good on the stove for a little

while if you wanted to—”

“I believe that’s a fire hazard,” Gavin said in mock shock.

“I’m appaled.”

Brad laughed, the mirth reaching his eyes as he continued to

watch Gavin towel off. He set his beer on the sink behind him,

looking predatory. “You’re fucking sexy. It distracts me. You make

me dangerous.”

Gavin wrapped the towel around his waist and leaned in for a

kiss. Brad met him halfway, cupping his chin and capturing his lips.

It was meant to be chaste, but it turned hard and ravenous in a way

that was common between them. Brad puled Gavin into his arms.

The two of them were chest to chest, their moans mingling as they

fought for dominance. Surprisingly Gavin won the battle by tangling

his fingers in Brad’s short hair. He angled his head and pushed his

tongue into Brad’s hot, welcoming mouth.

Brad tugged at Gavin’s towel, tossed it aside, and then

grabbed his ass, forcing Gavin’s hard cock to grind against his jean-

clad one. “I wanna fuck you.”

So much for dominance, but Gavin didn’t mind so much. He

just puled away breathlessly, his fingers stil tight in Brad’s hair.

“What about dinner?”

“Fuck dinner.” Brad’s hold on Gavin’s ass was possessive.

“Let it burn.”

“I do make you dangerous,” Gavin said teasingly. “Very

sexy. I suppose I’m wiling to wait for dinner if you are.”

Brad’s thumb traced Gavin’s swolen lips, his gaze running

over his face with both lust and adoration. “I love you.”

Happy and content, Gavin knew he was exactly where he

wanted to be. Thinking about the two days off together and a

lifetime stretching out in front of them, he couldn’t help but grin. “I

love you too.”
