He pulled away panting. “Mine,” he declared.

“Yes, yes.”

Removing his fingers, he climbed over her, his cock pushing at her entrance. “Mine!”

The possessiveness was enough to almost send her over the edge.

“Yes! Mike.”

He slammed inside as she called out his name over and over. He rode her fast and hard.

She loved every second of it.

Becca gripped his shoulders, nails digging in, and growled, “You’re mine too.”

Mike plunged in hard and stilled. “That’s right, baby.” He pulled out and flipped her over.

She climbed on her hands and knees and raised her ass back at him. He gripped her hips and this time entered her slowly. She tried to push back and get him inside faster but his hold was too strong.

“No, you take what I give you,” he ordered.

He slid out before pushing back in. It was such good torture.

She squeezed her inner muscles, clamping down on his cock.

“Oh, baby,” he groaned.

She threw her head back. “Harder.”

Obviously at the end of his control, he pumped into her quickly. She met every thrust and urged him on. He reached around, rubbing her clit as he pounded inside.

She exploded, tightening around him.

“Becca!” he moaned, slammed in and came.

They collapsed on the bed together, sweaty and exhausted.

“Well, glad we got that talk out of the way,” Becca said laughing.

He smacked her ass. “Be nice.”

Mike was starving by the time he and Becca finally left the bedroom. They made it to the kitchen at the end of breakfast and saw Nikki and RJ had just entered also. Mike slapped RJ on the back as he passed then took a seat next to him. Becca grabbed the coffee pot and started to fill mugs and one of the women still cooking pointed at the dishes.

“Eat up now! You deserve a good treat,” she said.

“Yes ma’am,” RJ and Mike said at the same time.

Plates were filled and bowls passed around. Kenny and Todd came in the back door.

“See, I told you we didn’t miss breakfast,” Todd told Kenny, pushing him out of the way and grabbing his own plate.

Kenny rolled his eyes but continued to watch Todd with a fond expression in his eyes.

Todd and Kenny joined them and they all started to eat.

The women set the last of the food on the table and started to remove their aprons.

They were soon left alone in the kitchen—the small group that felt like family to Mike.

“How’re you doing?” he asked Todd.

Todd grinned. “I’m all right. They really didn’t hurt me. They were more scared of me than anything.”

“Did Kurt leave with Owen and Barry this morning?” RJ questioned.

Kenny nodded. “Left at sunrise. The council wants to talk to them about the connection with Dan Carter.”

Todd snorted. “That man is bat shit crazy. Going on about how I was the spawn of the devil. Had all the humans in there too scared to even touch me. As if I could turn them by just looking into their eyes.”

“Is he going to be arrested?” Nikki enquired.

Kenny sighed. “I spoke with the sheriff this morning. While the men he arrested last night are scared, they still claim that Dan Carter was never there and it was all their idea to kidnap Todd. The sheriff thinks they are more afraid of Carter than doing jail time.”

“That doesn’t even make sense,” Becca complained.

Kenny shrugged. “They’ll open an investigation, but without proof…” He trailed off.

“But Todd saw him,” Becca argued.

“It’s Todd’s word against eight humans and two other wolves,” Kenny maintained. “They’ll push for a better confession and try to tie him in.”

“That’s not his biggest problem anyway,” RJ stated.

Everyone turned to him.

“Words out to all the Packs. Plus the council is already investigating him on their own. He won’t get so close the next time. He lost the element of surprise,” RJ continued.

“Good,” Becca said. “No one else should have to go through all of this.”

“So what was this Barry’s connection? I can understand Owen, but Barry?” Mike asked.

Kenny and Todd shook their heads. “I’m just glad it’s over,” Todd said.

Kenny reached over and placed his hand over his partner’s.

“Oh?” Becca enquired and raised her eyebrow.

“We spoke to the Alpha last night—we’re done hiding our relationship. We have his support, the support of our friends and family, so I asked Todd to mate with me.”

The table exploded with congratulations and cheering.

Todd was grinning. “Finally getting a commitment from him,” he teased.

Becca was hugging her friend. “That is so great! But what about your position?”

Kenny shrugged. “If someone wants to challenge me for my position, I’ll have to deal with it then. Besides, I’m hoping maybe sometime soon I can pass it on and pick my replacement. Let me concentrate on my fire training.”

Kenny caught Mike’s gaze and held it. Mike understood what he meant. Todd had already put the thought in his head.

He smiled to let the man know he might just be interested.

RJ stretched his arm behind Nikki’s shoulder, drawing his attention. RJ smirked and Mike knew he had also caught what Kenny wasn’t saying.

“So, Mike, what’s next for you?” his friend asked pretending innocence.

Mike laughed. “Nice, man.” But he wasn’t upset. He twined his fingers with Becca’s. “Right now I will be staying with Becca. I have some free time now that the unit’s no longer together. And we’ll decide what we want to do…together.”

He picked up her hand and kissed her knuckles.

Nikki and RJ
aww
ed and Kenny and Todd laughed. Becca just stared at him with genuine pleasure.

Mike had no doubt that there was a future with Becca. They had all but committed themselves to each other earlier.

As long as Becca was by his side, he had great expectations on where his life was headed.

Chapter One

The parking lot was crowded as Kelly Walker pulled her car into one of the few remaining spaces. She looked around, taking in the other vehicles, and finally spotted the one she searched for. As she stepped from her car, the heat of the night hit her in the face. When normally a jacket would be needed in October, this year they had yet to hit below seventy.

Halloween night and it was over eight-five degrees outside. Although it did make finding a sexy costume easier, helping to set her plan in motion. Wearing a short, tight black skirt, knee-high, black leather boots, a skimpy, red tank top, and a headband with horns, she was bound to raise some eyebrows with the little devil costume. Hopefully, getting the attention of the one she wanted.

A large man wearing black jeans and a black sleeveless shirt opened the front door. By his seductive smile and wink of approval, Kelly felt pretty good going into the bar. The music and smoke hit her all at once, and she struggled not to cough as the smoke soaked into her pores. The lights were low, but she could see well enough.

Walking from the door, she made a slow sweep of the room. She smiled as heads turned towards her, but she made it completely around the room without stopping. She knew exactly where he sat and that he was accompanied by four of his men. She was working out the best way to approach him, when a hand grabbed her upper arm and pulled her back against a hard chest.

Kelly stilled as an arm wrapped around her waist, and she felt breath against her neck.

“I told you never to come here.” The voice next to her ear was low, husky.

Kelly relaxed in the embrace, immediately recognising the voice of the undercover agent, Alex Gray, who was working her sister’s case.

“Well, I must have forgotten,” she said in her sexiest southern drawl.

She was rewarded with a growl before being dragged in a storage room and slammed against the door.

“This isn’t a game,” he told her as he crushed her harder into the door.

Kelly found herself distracted by the strength of the body that covered hers. He held her arms over her head and leaned against her so she could feel every inch of his muscular body against her softer flesh. Her body flushed and she felt her arousal as she shifted against him. She had never responded like this to a man before meeting Alex. But since she had, all she could ever think about was tearing off his clothes.

Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, she pushed against him. “Okay, let me go, Alex.”

She looked up in his eyes. He smiled but didn’t release her. “What are you doing here Kelly?”

Sighing, Kelly slumped against the door. “It’s been a year. A year today. I just wanted to see him.”

Alex nodded his head, and she saw sympathy in his expression. “I’m sorry but you can’t be here.” He released her and stepped back.

The loss of his body heat had Kelly wrapping her arms around herself. “I’m not leaving. I want to talk to him.”

“No.” Alex shook his head and crossed his arms over his chest.

Kelly took a step towards him, resting her hands on her hips. “You’re not my boss. I can talk to who I want to.”

He just smiled smugly at her.

“What are you going to do, Alex? Arrest me?” she taunted. “Don’t you think that would ruin your cover?”

The smile never left his face. “I don’t have to arrest you. All I have to do is have you thrown out of the bar, put in a cab and sent home.”

She knew he would do it. “Please, Alex. I just wanted to talk to him.”

“No.”

Frustrated, Kelly struck out a hand but he caught it.

“Careful there,” he warned and yanked her to him. Kelly tilted her head back to look him in the face. His grey eyes cut into hers as his lips thinned.

“I won’t let you blow my cover. I won’t let you ruin a two-year investigation. He’s killed more than just your sister. I have been after him longer than you’ve been involved. And most of all, I won’t let you get yourself hurt or killed.”

Kelly’s gaze followed as his lips moved and she licked her own, wondering what he would taste like. She looked into his eyes and saw the struggle there. He was fighting the attraction, just like she was. But she was tired of fighting it.

Kelly lifted onto her toes and pressed her mouth against his. He stiffened but didn’t move. She traced his lips with her tongue and bit down on the lower.

Alex finally opened to her with a groan. As she kissed him again, his hands found their way to her hair, and the soft kiss she started turned into a desperately brutal kiss of passion. He lifted her off her feet, and she wrapped her legs around his narrow waist. The jean material of his pants rubbed roughly against the damp silk material of her panties.

He moaned into her mouth, and she tightened her legs around him, needing to relieve the pressure between her thighs.

A knock on the door made them jump. Alex let her down his body slowly before moving and turning away. “Yeah?”

“Hey, Alex, we’re starting to get busy. Need you at the bar.” A male voice came through the door.

“Be right there,” Alex said before turning back to Kelly. He picked up her headband that had fallen to the floor and handed it to her. “One drink, Kelly. You will not talk to him and then you will be on your way.”

Kelly nodded, her face still flushed and her skin still heated. Alex opened the door and, with his hand wrapped around her wrist, pulled her towards the bar.

Alex couldn’t believe she had shown up at the bar. He knew she was getting restless, and the anniversary of her sister’s murder didn’t help, but he had specifically told her to stay away from here.

Setting a Crown and Coke in front of her, he watched her blush before taking a drink. Things had gone a little too far in the storage room, but damn she’d tasted good. Smelt good and felt even better. He’d fought it for so long and to finally have her in his arms had felt like heaven. But he couldn’t do it. She didn’t belong in his world.

Alex looked over to the man in the back of the bar. Craig Lambert—local drug dealer, murderer, and vampire. Kelly would never believe him if he told her what Craig really was. Hell, he could probably show her, and she still wouldn’t believe. No, she didn’t belong in this world, and he needed to get her out of here.

He exchanged a look with his partner, Marcus, who nodded. He would help keep an eye on Kelly if Alex needed him to. Marcus was also aware of the attraction between the two of them. Every time they had spoken with Kelly about the case, Marcus would make sure to comment on just how pretty Kelly was, receiving the desired reaction from Alex.

The two men had been friends for a very long time. Alex wasn’t able to hide his feelings for Kelly from him, and Marcus loved the fact that he tried.

When Kelly stood, he sighed in relief that she was leaving.

“I’ll call you tomorrow, Kelly, I promise,” he told her as he covered her hand with his on the cold, worn wood of the bar.

Her eyes met his and he could see the pain.

“It’s almost over,” Alex assured her.

Her gaze darted to the back of the room before meeting his again. “Okay, Alex.”

She pulled her hand away, turned and left the bar. Alex watched her the entire time, his body reacting. He adjusted the bulge in his jeans. His attention was then drawn to the empty table in the back. Where had they gone?
