At Starbucks’ 2008 global leadership conference, a four-day event held at the height of the US economic crisis, nearly ten thousand Starbucks partners convened in New Orleans, a city still reeling from the effects of Hurricane Katrina, to contribute thousands of hours of community service as well as to hear, directly from Starbucks’ leaders, about changes the company needed to make and the responsibility each partner had to help secure our successful future.
