One Ride for Life
After the confessions of love on the beach, Tripp took me home and showed my body just how much he loves me. He was true to his word, I felt him the next day. I wasn’t sashaying my ass around anywhere. It was a sore so good.
Tripp left the next morning to go back. I had to stay behind to tie up loose ends here in Haywood’s Landing. I spent two weeks training Jenna. Rex moved out while Tripp was on a transport. My stuff was packed and moved for me by some prospects.
I’ve settled into Tripp’s space pretty well. It’s been six months of living together and I can’t get enough of him. He’s been open to changes around the house, as long as I didn’t put flowery girly shit everywhere; his words not mine. The French country blue kitchen is now a light gray and upgraded to stainless steel appliances. Dina offered me a job, but Tripp offered me one at his office as well. I took the second offer because he’s gone quite a bit and I love the extra time together when he’s home.
Rex is still man whoring around. I’ve become close with Tessie. She has a new man, he’s a Catawba Hellion that’s been eyeing her, but thought she was tied to Rex. Well, Rex gave the free and clear. Andy, ‘Shooter’ went after the girl he wanted. Tessie is happy and, for the first time, introduced Axel, her son, to him.
Tank is still in a coma. He’s stable, his body healed, but he won’t wake up. The doctors say it’s up to him now. He’s got to find the reason to wake up. Sass visits him every day still. She’s living with Nick, and although the light is gone from my feisty friends eyes, she seems as happy as she’s gonna get without being with a biker.
Tripp and I spent last weekend riding the Dragon’s tail. It was everything my dad said it would be and then some. Being an ol’ lady is different. Those women who always looked out for me and nurtured me were an important part to my life that I overlooked until becoming one. Now, I’m looking out for the newbies that come in with one of the guys or helping with the little Hellions they have. They’ve all taken me in here quite well and I love my extended family.
I’ve got a special dinner planned tonight since Tripp has been gone for the last week. He walks in looking edible himself. I smile at him, as I walk over to the kitchen entryway. Snaking my arms around his waist, I rest my head on his chest. His arms come around me as he moves to tilt my head to him. Then he devours me in his kiss. I don’t care if it is fifty years from now, a kiss from Talon Crews will consume every part of me because he is everything that makes my heart beat. After a few minutes, we break apart.
“Something smells good, babe.” Tripp states as he drops his bag in the laundry area. “What’s the occasion?”
“I missed you.” I smile innocently at him.
“Doll, what’s going on? I know you missed me, but this is something more.”
“Well, Caroline has been having some troubles with a guy from work. I sort of asked Rex to help me out and look out for Caroline. That being the case, they haven’t officially met even after all this time. Rex has been on the road or Caroline was busy. I doubt they even remember their first meeting at the barbeque.” I say looking down.
“Why didn’t you tell me that Caroline needed something?” He asks, lifting my chin forcing me to make eye contact.
“You were gone when she called. This guy at work is being a bit aggressive. Having Rex on her arm for a few work functions may deter him.”
“Is this why Caroline stayed over a few nights while I’ve been gone?”
“Maybe.”
“Is this maybe because she’s afraid of the fucker?”
Saved by the bell, the doorbell rings and I bolt to answer it. Caroline is having some troubles and I don’t know what to do for her. Rex will though. He and Tripp protected me and I know they will protect my friend.
Caroline is helping me set the table when Rex walks in through the back door. He and Tripp do the handshake, half hug, back slap thing guys do for a greeting. He waves over to me and then he faces Caroline. The smile on his face is one of seduction and surprise.
“Rex meet Caroline, again.” I say in introduction, as Tripp moves over putting his arm around my waist.
“Nice to meet you, Lux.”
Caroline’s face distorts in annoyance. “Lux?”
“Lux, as in deluxe. You’re the deluxe model. High class and shit.” Rex says settling into a chair at the table.
Caroline’s face is pleading with me to save her. I stifle a giggle at her reaction. We eat dinner as Caroline fills us in on the details of what’s been happening. Rex is pissed in a way I’ve never seen before. After dinner, Rex and Tripp go and talk in the shop, while Caroline helps me clean up.
“Are you sure about this Doll?”
“Caroline, I’d trust Rex with my own life. He’s not going to let this Chad guy get to you or keep bothering you. He’ll handle it and you can feel safe again.”
With a few more reassurances, she is feeling better about leaning on the Hellions to help her. Rex follows Caroline home. Tripp is sitting on the recliner in the living room. As I walk by, he grabs me and pulls me to his lap. Nuzzling his face in my neck, I sigh.
“I love you, Talon.”
Rather than respond, he kisses me. He’s moving around under me. Breaking the kiss, he pulls away and looks in my eyes as if he’s searching for an answer to an unknown question.
“Doll, we gonna do this?”
“Babe, we are doing this.” I answer, not understanding.
He moves a small black velvet box in front of me. “Doll, we gonna do this?”
Tears already falling as I ask, “What is it you’re asking me to do exactly?”
“You have my babies. You have my name. You keep that pretty ass of yours on the back of my bike for the rest of our lives. You be my everything. You be my wife. One more time and then I’m not askin’ again, we gonna do this, Doll?”
“Yes, Talon, we’re gonna do this.”

Chelsea Camaron was born and raised in Coastal North Carolina. She currently resides in Southern Louisiana with her husband and two children but her heart is always Carolina day dreaming.
Chelsea always wanted to be a writer, but like most of us, let fear of the unknown grab a hold of her dream; she realized that if she was going to tell her daughter to go for her dreams, that it was time to follow her own advice.
Chelsea grew up turning wrenches alongside her father, and from that grew her love for old muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, which just so happened to inspired her ‘Love and Repair’ and ‘The Hellions Ride’ series. Her love for reading has sparked a new love for writing and she currently has a few more projects in the works.
When she is not spending her days writing you can find her playing with her kids, attending car shows, going on motorcycle rides on the back of her husband’s Harley, snuggling down with her new favorite book or watching any movie that Vin Diesel might happen to be in.
She hates being serious and is still a big kid at heart. She is a small town country girl enjoying life and, Chelsea hopes that her readers remember not to take life too seriously and to embrace your inner five year old, because five year olds know how to enjoy the simple things in life and how to always have fun.
