Everyone started forming a circle for another fight,
and the four MC humans turned to watch. Diesel got a look at the back of their
cuts. The patch was of a burning phoenix with its wings spread and a motorcycle
in the center of that. The top rocker read “Brothers of Menace”, and the bottom
rocker stated they were of the Colorado-bred variety. The fact they were in
Steel Corner and he didn’t know about it didn’t sit well with Diesel. But
calling Jagger would only have his president’s voicemail picking up since he
was out of town with Sonya until tomorrow.

He looked over at Stinger, who was staring at the
humans that had just walked in as well. “Come on.” His bear was still pacing
inside of him, and it was like he hadn’t just fought even though his neck
burned from the claw wounds marring it. Stinger pushed off the wall, and they
made their way past the biker humans. They slowed marginally when the President
looked over his shoulder, grinned, and lifted his chin in acknowledgment, but
before Diesel or Stinger could say anything the next fight
started,
and the cheering and shouts for more blood increased.

They headed out without incident, although Diesel
wouldn’t have minded doing a little bare knuckle fighting with the human biker
that had that smug fucking smirk on his face. They stepped into the night, and
there were a few drunks stumbling around, smoking pot, and laughing loudly.
They made their way toward their Harleys by the tree line.

“You know them?” Stinger took one more drag from the
joint, kept the smoke in for a few seconds, and flicked the roach away. He
exhaled, and the sweet scent of marijuana filled the space around them.

“Nah, I’ve never heard of their MC, but I don’t like
them, and neither does my bear,” Diesel said. There were a lot of MCs in the
country, but that didn’t mean The Grizzlies knew every single one, even if The
Brothers of Menace were from Colorado.

Stinger straddled his bike and put his helmet on. “Me
either. They had my hackles rising, though.” Diesel grunted at Stinger’s word
and got on his bike. “You headed back to the clubhouse?
Big
ass party happening.”

Diesel
snapped his helmet in place and looked over at the other male.

Stinger made a low noise in his throat.
“You good to ride?”

Diesel didn’t respond, just stared at Stinger until
he nodded again, revved his engine, and pulled away from the barn. Diesel knew
the other bear was talking about his anger and the wild, fierce energy still
running inside of him. Was he good to ride? He was always good when he was on
his bike with the road rushing beneath him, but even that fierce fight didn’t
stop this strange and ludicrous need to have Maggie.

He started his engine and pulled away from the bar.
Once he was on the main road he just rode. He didn’t want to go back to the
clubhouse, not when it would be filled with females he didn’t want, ones willing
to spread their thighs at the snap of a member’s finger. But his ride ended up
taking him to a residential part of Steel Corner, one that was older, with the
houses close together and the yards postage stamp sized. Then he found himself
pulling next to the curb across from a white house with black shutters and a
small flower garden in the front.

“Shit, D, why are you here?”

And now he was fucking talking to himself.

Chapter Four

The sound of a motorcycle had Maggie setting her cup
and plate in the sink and moving toward the small kitchen window. She had made
something to eat even though it was going on midnight, and she felt much better
and less intoxicated. But when she pulled the curtain aside and stared at the
dark figure straddling the motorcycle right across from her house, her heart stopped.
Although she couldn’t see exactly who was on the bike with the shadows around
him and the light from the kitchen behind her, Maggie knew that it was Diesel
who was sitting out there. She could see that his head was lowered, and against
her better judgment she stepped away from window, went into the foyer to grab
her jacket, and opened the front door. The sound of his bike was so loud that she
quickly shut the door as to not wake her dad. Diesel was still looking down,
and she didn’t know if he realized she was walking toward him or not. When the
only thing that separated them was the small strip of road, she just stood
there and stared at him.

He slowly lifted his head and looked at her, but
there was no surprise that she was standing just a few feet from him. There was
this clear indecision on his face, and he was probably wondering why he was at
her house the same as she was. Maggie somehow found the courage to step off of
that curb and move toward him. Her heart was thundering so fast in her chest
that she felt it at the base of her throat, and her pulse filled her ears. She
stopped when she was only a foot from him, and the scent of leather and exhaust
filled her nose. The asphalt was rough beneath her bare feet, and a breeze blew
by, moving up the thin cotton of her pajama bottoms.

“What are you doing here?” She heard how breathy she
sounded, and she cleared her throat, feeling embarrassment and knowing that the
steady arousal inside of her was increasing the longer she was this near to
him. He didn’t answer right away, but she didn’t feel uncomfortable around him.

“I don’t know, Maggie.”

God, his voice was so low and deep that she felt it
in every erogenous zone in her body. The way he said her name was like he was
having sex with her, and the dirty, explicit images that claimed her were
enough to nearly have her knees buckle from the force of them. He shifted so
his upper body was more toward her, and she made a small noise when she saw the
nasty looking claw marks peeking up over the collar of his cut.

“Oh my God.
Did you get that—

He was
shaking her head before she even finished. “No, this wasn’t because of the
fight that was started with Dallas at the bar.” He didn’t elaborate, and she
didn’t delve in with the questions. They stood there another few seconds before
he spoke again. “I was just riding, and I found myself in front of your house.”

She nodded and swallowed. “I…” She stopped talking
because the words failed to come.

“Yeah, Maggie, I know. This whole situation makes no
fucking sense.”

No, it didn’t, and she didn’t know where to go from
here. One minute she was imagining speaking to Diesel in more than a
professional manner at her dad’s shop. And in the next everything had turned
into the Twilight Zone. Now she was standing in front of the man she had wanted
for years, and unless she was totally reading the vibes wrong he acted like he
wanted her, too. But she knew the kind of man Diesel was, hell, the kind of men
that were involved with the Grizzly MC. They didn’t do relationships, and going
from woman to woman seemed to be a trending hobby for them.

“You want to go for a ride?”

Her mouth went dry, and she glanced back at the
house. Her dad’s light was still off, but he was a pretty heavy sleeper. She
turned back to look at Diesel, and although this was a crazy thing to do,
probably the craziest thing she had ever done, she nodded. “I need to change.”

He nodded, and right when she would have turned and
headed back inside he reached out and wrapped his hand around her wrist. She
looked down at where he held her, and felt the zing of electricity slam into
her. He was so attractive in a darkly devilish way. His helmet covered his
blond hair, but she could see the short strands tied at the nape of his neck.
Even with the darkness she could see how blue his eyes were. He tugged her
forward, and she didn’t resist.

“This is crazy.”

He searched her face with his eyes and nodded. “Yeah,
baby, it really fucking is. But it feels pretty damn right, too.”

Oh God
.
Hearing him call her baby had a gush of wetness leaving her, and his nostrils
flared. She had to make herself remember that this wasn’t just any kind of man,
but one that held a dangerous, wild animal inside of him. In a move so fast and
powerful she didn’t realize what was happening until it was done, he pressed
his mouth to hers and pushed his tongue inside. There was nothing left for her
to do but to accept his possession, and that was exactly what he was doing. He
was marking her as he thrust his tongue in and out of her mouth, and moved his
hand along her lower back to pull her even closer. Maggie tilted her head to
accept more of his kiss, but before it could go any deeper he was pulling away
from her.

“Go get some different clothes on, baby.”

She didn’t have to be told again. Once she was
inside and had a pair of jeans on, a new top, and some shoes, she headed to her
dad’s room. The door was cracked, and she saw him sleeping in the center of his
bed. The deep snores coming from him told her he was out, and although she was
an adult and didn’t have a curfew, she also didn’t want him to worry about her.
She’d only be gone for a little bit, she told herself. Just long enough to take
a ride with Diesel. That thought had a tingle settling between her thighs, and
she left the house and made her way toward him once more. He hadn’t moved, and
in fact watched her like how she imagined an animal might watch its prey before
it struck. His eyes lowered as he looked at her body up and down, and although
she had jeans and her jacket on, she felt completely naked in front of him. He
had taken off his helmet and handed it to her. Once she had it on her head and
strapped in place, he reached out and wrapped a hand around her upper arm. She
straddled the back, but before she could get situated he took his other hand
and wrapped it around her waist, pulling her toward him. The V of her legs fit
perfectly against his body, and she swore she heard a deep rumble leave him
over the purr of the bike when her pussy was snug against him. Maggie closed
her eyes and fought through the arousal pounding heavily inside of her like a
drum. He turned his head to the side.

“You
ever been
on the back
of a bike before?” Maggie shook her head and watched his grin spread. It was
cute, but so damn dark and sexy that the inner muscles of her pussy clenched from
that simple gesture. “Hang on, baby.”

It was still so strange yet arousing to hear him
call her that. She wrapped her arms around his lean and hard waist and pressed
her chest to his back. The smell of aged leather from his cut filled her nose,
and she briefly closed her eyes. This was surreal. In essence they were all but
strangers, but being this close to him, touching him, and riding on the back of
his bike felt so right on every level. Maggie didn’t want to question it,
didn’t want to try to analyze it. All she wanted to do was let
herself
experience this one moment and see where it took
her. Was she a fool for thinking that she could have more than one night with
Diesel? No, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t hang on for what she knew would
be one hell of a ride.

He pulled away from the curb, and the vibrations
from the bike speared right to her clit. A tingling that had already been based
in her pussy intensified, but she held in her gasp of sudden pleasure and tightened
her hold on him. Diesel took a left onto the next street, and she shifted her
hands, but he wrapped his big, strong fingers around her wrists and pressed
them tightly to his abdomen. The hard ridges of what she knew were his six-pack
clenched beneath her touch, and she breathed out roughly.

They hit the main road, but it was late and the
streets were deserted. There was a kind of freedom riding on the back of his
Harley, and after a while she relaxed against him and let the tension fade
away. Maggie even rested her cheek on the center of his back, and watched as
the buildings soon became trees as he ventured further out of town and more
into the thick wilderness of Colorado. Things looked different on the back of
his bike, with the wind blowing across her face and nothing holding her down
except her hands around his waist. She didn’t know how long they rode, but her
face felt like ice. Aside from that the rest of her body was burning up alive.
The longer she was pressed against Diesel the more she wanted him, and the
harder her resolution to do what she really wanted to do slammed into her. He
turned onto a side road, but before he took it he made a U-turn as if he
planned on heading back into town. This was her moment as they moved at a crawl
right before he got back on the main road.

“Diesel?”
Her voice was low, and she didn’t know if he could hear her, but when she felt
his entire body tense she knew he had. He braced his feet on the ground to
steady the bike and looked over his shoulder at her. Strands of his shoulder
length blond hair had come undone from his tie and hung around his masculine
face. He was not handsome, per se, but his whole persona screamed masculinity.
She felt so very feminine around him, and she knew that if she were to give
herself up to him, even if for this one moment, it would be the experience of a
lifetime. For several seconds all he did was
stare
at
her, but she didn’t miss how his pupils dilated. She wondered if he could see
the desire written across her face. He was a shifter, and no doubt could smell
how wet she was, but there was no embarrassment in that knowledge, and in fact
Maggie found it made her hotter.
