She shook her head, objecting. “I don’t think any still picture can capture the true beauty of this night, Dylan. Let’s just take mental pictures tonight. Things we enjoy appear much more beautiful in our memories than on a paper or computer screens.”

“But, I want to remember you and our night together. Are you still insisting on not telling me anything else about yourself?”

Her eyes were furtive; she didn’t want to answer me. Instead she squeezed my hand softly and leaned her head on my shoulder. I ran my fingers through her soft hair and caressed her cheek with the back of my hand. I didn’t know what else to say. I hated that we were getting to the end of the night and she was this delicate dove, ready to fly away without leaving a trace.

“Emma, you look tired. We have been walking almost all day. I don’t think you have the energy to ride back,” I said. “Why don’t we spend the rest of the night in my hotel? It is close.” I asked hesitatingly.

“Are you trying to get me into your bed Dylan?” She asked tauntingly. God, I loved but also hated her bluntness.

I grinned, blushing unwittingly, “As much as I would love to do that, kiss every inch of your body, make you scream with pleasure. No, that’s not my plan.” I replied back. I could play her game too.

“Oh, God! Dylan! You are getting me all intrigued now.”

“I should continue then, maybe you will surrender.”

“Honestly, I don’t think so. I don’t want to be the bimbo you banged on a one-night-stand in Amsterdam.”

“You know that you are not a bimbo, and believe me if I make love to you, I don’t think one night would be enough. I would want more.”

“Dylan, we agreed. It’s just one night. We will both go our separate ways tomorrow.”

“I didn’t agree. You just didn’t give me any other option. You don’t even want to give me your number or tell me where you live or where you work.”

“It’s better this way. We will have this wonderful night to remember forever. It is perfect.”

“I can’t win this argument with you and I don’t want to spend my precious hours left arguing. All I want is to hold you in my arms for the rest of the night and kiss you.  I can’t let you go just yet. I am not ready to say goodbye.”

“Okay, fine!”

“Okay, fine for what?”

“Yes, I will come to your hotel and spend the night with you.”

I lifted her up and spun her around in my arms. “This will be the best night of my life.” I shouted happily.  She did say ‘yes’… didn’t she? Or was I daydreaming?

CHAPTER 6

DYLAN

We arrived at The Grand Amsterdam Hotel close to midnight. Built in 1578, I found the building very old-fashioned when I checked in three days ago; however, wondering how Emma would enjoy its quaint and unique atmosphere, I was thankful to Mrs. Donnelly, my kind, fifty year old personal assistant for reserving this historic hotel for me.  When we got in front of the impressive building illuminated with soft lights, Emma’s eyes grew wide, and a slight grin inched on her face. She liked historic places: it was too obvious.

I was about to open the door to the lobby when her phone rang, “I need to take this,” she said politely.

“Of course! As long as you promise to come back,” I said wondering who was calling her at this hour. “If it is Sydney, please tell her you’ll be with me all night. I am not letting you go.”

“Don’t worry. I’ll be back. It’s my aunt. She is probably just getting off work and wants to check on me.”

“Alright, I’ll be here waiting.” I let her hand go and watched her step outside.

While she was talking on the phone, I beckoned to Albert, the hotel’s kind, white haired, bespectacled concierge to come over. I explained that I wanted something special prepared for my guest. Fresh strawberries, champagne and jasmine flowers. And for the morning, I asked him to arrange a royal breakfast overlooking the garden terrace surrounded by historic walls.

“I want the best of everything Albert.  Nothing should be less than perfect!” I demanded resolutely.

“Of course, Mr. Hamilton!”  Albert nodded eagerly. “I will arrange everything personally. I can assure you that all will be setup perfect for your taste. Do you want your order for tonight right away?”

“Yes, please bring them immediately.”

“And if I may sir, I’d like to add one more item to your list.” He said.

“What is it, Albert?”

“I think crème Chantilly would go very well with the strawberries, sir.”

“Excellent idea Albert.” I smiled. “Please add that too.”

“Sorry, but one last thing, sir.  It might be too late to get fresh jasmines. If I cannot find them, is there any other flower that you’d like instead?”

“It has to be jasmine, Albert. Just find it …”

“I understand sir. Have a great night.”

Just a few seconds after Albert left, Emma came back, holding her cell phone in her hand. Her face was ambiguous. “After I hung up with my aunt, Sydney called. She wants to talk to you for some reason.” She said with a nervous expression.

I held the phone, perplexed. I didn’t know what to say and had no idea why her crazy cousin wanted to talk to me in the middle of the night. I only hoped that it wasn’t because of Max. If he did something to make Sydney mad, I was going to make him suffer big time tomorrow.

“Hi Sydney,” I said. My voice cracked a little bit.

“Hi Dylan,” she replied giggling. I was relieved to hear her bubbly voice.

“What’s up?”

“I don’t know how you convinced my uptight cousin to spend the night with you. It is very unlike her, to say the least. Please keep doing whatever you are doing. She sounds so happy and relaxed. Just make sure that she has an unforgettable night, alright. You know what I mean.”

“Yes, Sydney. I understand. Thank you for your kind warning.” I uttered in an impish tone. Feeling overwhelmed under Emma’s repressive expression, I ended the call immediately and handed it back to Emma.

“What did she want?” She asked curiously.

“She just warned me about your snoring. I need to pinch your nose if you do.” I replied with a broad smile.

“Jesus, Dylan. You are as impossible as her.”

Without letting her interrogate me any further, “Let’s go,” I said. I took her hand and led her towards the elevator. The anticipation of spending the night with her and Sydney’s implicit comment were making me nervous. I wrapped my arms around her waist as the elevator slowly ascended to the top floor. Alone with her in the elevator, I desperately wanted to kiss her but I didn’t want to rush into anything. We had all night and I was determined to make every minute of it memorable for her.

We entered the imperial suite at the top floor and Emma uttered joyfully. “Oh, my God Dylan! What a beautiful room. You have a gorgeous view of the canal. Sydney and I are sharing a dinky little room with a view of some old building’s roof. This is awesome.”

I didn’t care much about the room or the view. The only thing that mattered to me at that instant was that she was there with me.

“Oh, look at that,” she added, peeking at the stationary paper on top of the desk. “The suite is named after Willem Van Oranje, an ancestor of the
Dutch monarchy
. It is a classic,” she continued happily, checking out the rooms and its decoration. She was telling me all about the Netherland’s coat of arms when we heard the knock on the door. She squinted and bit the corner of her lower lip curiously.  I opened the door, and the wonderful smell of fresh jasmines surrounded the air immediately.

“As you have requested, sir!” Albert arranged the food and the flowers on the table. He opened the chilled Dom Perignon, and then poured it into two tall crystal glasses for us. When he was done, he asked in the most respectful manner. “Is there anything else I could do for you, sir?”

“No, Albert. Thanks for all your help.”

Emma’s lips curved into a gorgeous smile that almost reached her eyes. “You are unbelievable,” she shook her head and mumbled, inhaling the jasmine branches full of little fragrant flowers.

“Do you always impress girls with irresistible indulgences like these?” She asked after she dipped a strawberry into the crème Chantilly and took a bite.

“No, I definitely do not. This is a first for me,” I said. If only she knew how she was inspiring me to do things that I had never done before.

I raised my glass, uttered “à la tienne” and then took a sip, watching her intently enjoying the cold champagne. I couldn’t keep my eyes off her.

“To you…as well,” she replied.

The sight of cream dipped strawberries between her soft plumb lips, and the pleasing noises she let out as she sipped the cold champagne were too much. I was utterly lost in temptation by just watching her. My eyes implored her lips, her elegant neck and the valley between her breasts; I couldn’t hold myself back anymore. I quickly closed the distance between us, took the glass out of her hand and set it on the table under her curious eyes. Then swiftly, I grabbed her waist and pulled her into an abrupt kiss. I intended to kiss her tenderly but when I saw the passion flickering in her eyes; it wasn’t possible to rein in my emotions anymore. My kiss became more heated reflecting the fire in me and her lips were the only cure, the only way to put out that fire. No, I didn’t forget what I told her earlier. I wanted to be the gentleman but I had to relinquish my promise soon.  I loved holding her in my arms and caressing her gently, but now that she was in my arms, I wanted to taste her delicate skin with my lips starting from her neck, trailing down to her breasts. I wanted more. More of Emma.

As if she heard my inner thoughts, she wrapped her arms around my neck.  She parted her lips slightly, enough to allow me in.  We were timid at first, but when my tongue touched hers, there was suddenly an explosion of passion and desire in both of us. Her chest rose and fell in cadence, her breathing deepened and she pulled me closer, her hands caressing my arms. Our bodies were now pressed firmly against each other.  I took a sharp breath when Emma’s hands slipped lower. Her fingers were trailing under the hem of my shirt. I wanted her to peel the shirt off me, and graze her hands over my body. Everywhere her slim fingers touched burned with desire. Her touch was magical, sending shivers down my spine.  My God… she had no idea what she was doing to me.

I moved an inch away breaking the kiss for a second to take a deep breath. Kissing Emma was mind-blowing. I nestled my face under her ear, teasing her earlobes with my tongue as I cupped her cheekbones softly and then brushed her bare shoulders with the tip of my fingers.  She trembled and moaned in my mouth, “Oh, Dylan!” Hearing her whispering my name in her smooth velvety voice was such a turn on. My name never sounded this sexy before.

My hands trailed down and rested on the small of her back. She threw her head backwards giving me access to her neck. I inhaled her intoxicating smell, placed soft kisses on her neck all the way down to that maddening valley between her breasts. My eyes closed, I savored the sweet aroma of her lips again, my hands grazed over her legs, climbing up slowly, inch by inch towards her hips, almost touching the thin fabric of her panties. I was burning up with desire with every passing second. She was the only thing that could quench my raging thirst.

Engulfed in delirious desire, I thought about lifting her up, laying her over the bed naked and adoring every inch of her body with my lips. I wanted to give her pleasure like she never had before. ‘Only if she would let me…’ I wondered inwardly. For the first time in my life, I was worrying about giving pleasure to a girl, instead of rushing to the end to get what I wanted and be done with it.  Emma was too special, and I wanted to be special for her. There was a gleam in her eyes that I couldn’t decipher. Did she want me to continue? Did she have second thoughts about what we started?  I hesitated to take the next step but feeling her soft hands rambling over my chest, gave me the courage I needed. She wanted me as much as I wanted her.

I slowly untied her sundress at her neck. The silky dress gracefully crawled down to her feet. I was speechless at the sight of her impeccable beauty. In her strapless black lacy bra and matching panties, she looked like a goddess - curvy and voluptuous. Her rosy nipples partially hidden underneath the black lace budded from her milky white skin.   Her eyes were closed and her lips were sealed tight as I caressed her delicate skin with my knuckles, skimming over her round, perfect breasts. I wanted to remove that barrier between my sweet fantasy and my mouth immediately.

I pulled up her silky hair, and lifted her arms above her head. I started kissing the soft skin around her arm pit and her breast, slowly trailing kisses down to her stomach. My hands found the clasp of her bra. I brushed my fingers over thin lace slowly. Her chest rose, and her breathing quickened.  I suddenly stopped, making her open her eyes. Our gazes met instantly.

“Emma. This is your last chance to say ‘no’. Do you want this?” I asked.

She nodded once, but it was not enough. I wanted to hear her saying it. “Say it!” I whispered into her ear.

“I want you to make love to me, Dylan.” She whispered back.
