In the bedroom, Corbin slid under the covers at the bottom of the bed and placed a hand on Brooke’s calf. His brothers got in on either side of side of her and positioned their bodies so that their woman was sandwiched between them. She didn’t move when they cuddled up to her, but she did sigh as if she was content. That was a good sign as far as he was concerned. When so much seemed uncertain, he wanted to hold to every hopeful sign he could find.

Chapter Ten

Brooke was surrounded by heat. She stretched and turned over onto her back, her arms and legs brushing against warm, hard bodies. She opened her eyes to see three sets of eyes staring back at her.

“Morning, baby,” Coulter whispered.

“Morning, darlin’,” Trace rasped.

“Hey, honey,” Corbin rumbled.

“Morning,” Brooke replied quietly as she stared from one man to the other and back again. “What are you doing in my bed?”

“What do you mean by that, Brooke? We’ve slept with you the last couple of nights,” Coulter said.

“You have not!” Brooked insisted.

“Yes we have, baby. You sleep like the dead,” Coulter declared.

“No, I don’t,” she replied and then felt her cheeks heat, because she knew damn well that was a lie. “Okay, so maybe I do, but that still doesn’t answer my question. What are you doing here?”

“Brooke, we really like you, a lot. Where else would we sleep?” Trace asked, his voice deeper and more gravelly from sleep.

“Your own beds, maybe,” Brooke squeaked.

“Why are you so uncomfortable, darlin’? We’ve already seen you naked and made love with you,” Trace stated.

“I don’t know. It’s just that—I don’t want to get too attached to you.”

“Baby, look at me,” Coulter demanded, and she couldn’t prevent herself from complying. She looked up into his blue eyes and got lost in the heat she saw there.

“Brooke, we more than like you. I love you, baby. I don’t want to sleep anywhere you’re not,” Coulter explained.

Brooke felt tears well in her eyes and lowered her lashes. She took a great gulp of air as a piece of her empty, lonely heart filled. She looked back up at Coulter, and those tears spilled down over her cheeks.

“Do you really mean that? You’re not just saying it because we…you know?” she asked with a hitch.

“No, baby. Come here,” Coulter said and held his hand out toward her.

Brooke took his hand and crawled to the bottom of the bed. He pulled her into his big, strong, warm body and wrapped his arms around her. She sighed and caressed her cheek against the skin of his chest. She inhaled deeply, loving his scent and the way he was so gentle with her when she knew he could be so arrogant and dominant.

“I love you, Brooke. I knew from the moment we started nursing you back to health that you were the woman for us.”

“I think…”

“Shh, baby. You don’t have to say those words back if you’re not ready. Just know that you have my heart in the palm of your hands. It’s yours to do what you want with,” Coulter stated and tilted her head. He placed a light but emotional kiss on her lips and handed her over to Trace.

Trace was sitting up in bed with his back against the headboard. He pulled her onto his lap and looked deeply into her eyes. “I love you, darlin’. Don’t question it, just accept it.”

Brooke placed the palms of her hands on Trace’s cheeks and leaned forward. Her lips met his, and she felt another empty place in her heart fill. She sighed as he released her, and Corbin reached out from behind her and lifted her as he stood.

“I love you so much, Brooke. You mean everything to me, honey,” he rasped. Brooke’s tears were now flowing freely, but she didn’t try to stop them or wipe them away. She was cradled against Corbin’s chest, and he lowered his mouth to hers as he began to walk. She didn’t care where he was taking her. She just wanted to stay surrounded by the three Thornell brothers forever.

Corbin broke the kiss and lowered her legs. He held her steady and then released her. He turned on the shower and helped her remove the clothes she had slept in. Once they were both naked, he led her into the water. She sighed and let the warm water flow over her head and body. She opened her eyes when she felt a slight breeze and saw Trace and Coulter walk around the glass partition. The three brothers washed her hair and body, which, of course, ratcheted up her simmering libido.

Corbin ran his soapy hands over her breasts and pinched her nipples between his index finger and thumb. She moaned when Coulter caressed her butt cheeks with his slippery hands and then ran his fingers down the crease of her ass. Trace, who was standing at her side, washed her stomach and then slid his hand over her mound. She gasped when he separated her labial lips and flicked a digit over her clit.

“Oh God. What are you doing to me?” Brooke sobbed.

“We are making you feel good, darlin’. Just relax and let us pleasure you,” he whispered against her ear.

Brooke shivered when his warm, moist breath caressed the shell of her ear. Goose bumps rose up from her skin, even through the warm water flowing over her. She gasped when Trace slipped two fingers into her pussy and began to move them in and out of her wet sheath. Corbin rinsed the soap from her chest, leaned down, and sucked one of her turgid peaks into his mouth while plucking at the other. She cried out when Coulter pushed a finger into her ass.

Her three men loved her with their hands and mouths. She closed her eyes and panted as liquid lava flowed through her body. She came so close to the edge so quickly, but she didn’t want to go over yet. She wanted them to bury their cocks into pussy, ass, and mouth until they all cried out with pleasure. Brooke reached out and took Corbin’s cock in her hand, only to snap her eyes open when he gently removed her hand from his body.

“This is for you, honey. We just want to show you how much we love you,” he said with a gentle smile.

Brooke closed her eyes again as the fire inside her built to a raging inferno. Trace pumped his fingers into her faster and deeper, massaging her clit with his thumb. Corbin moved to her other nipple and gently bit down, while Coulter thrust and wiggled his finger in her ass.

And then she was flying. Her pelvic-floor muscles clamped down on the digits buried in both her holes, and she screamed. Her internal walls clenched and released over and over again. Her belly quivered, and her legs shook.

They didn’t stop until the last pulse faded away, and she was thankful Corbin wrapped his arm around her waist when her knees buckled. She leaned her head against his chest, breathing heavily as she tried to get her equilibrium back. One of them turned the shower off and then she found herself standing on the big mat as they dried her off. Once done, they all dressed and led her out to the kitchen.

They sat around their table and ate breakfast, and then Coulter helped her from her seat and led her into the office.

“Sit down, baby, we need to talk,” Coulter stated and helped her to the sofa.

“What’s going on?” Brooke asked.

“We think that bastard was after only you.”

“Oh my God. I knew there was something funny going on,” she said in a shaky voice. “Do you know who he was?”

“Not yet, baby. Is there anything more you can tell us about your grandmother?” Coulter asked gently.

“Um, I can’t remember much. I was only five when she died,” Brooke said and closed her eyes. She breathed deeply and tried to think back. It took her a while to go through her memories of the past until she came to her grandmother.

“I remember she used to smell like lavender. She was always giving me hugs. She was so good to me. I used to call her ‘ma ma.’ She loved me like I was her daughter. We used to make cookies together. I would stand on a chair at the kitchen counter and we’d mix up the dough. One night we were watching television and she was so excited. I don’t know what about, but I remember her picking me up and twirling me about as she screeched with joy,” Brooke said and smiled as she reflected on the past. “Not long after that, maybe a couple of days, our house was full of people. There were even men holding cameras and microphones. I don’t remember anything after that.”

“You did well, baby,” Coulter stated and leaned down to kiss her on the cheek. “Why don’t you go and read for a while? We have a few things we need to work on.”

“Okay, but call me if you find anything,” Brooke replied and left.

Coulter watched the gentle sway of Brooke’s hips until she was no longer in sight. The office felt a lot colder now she was no longer present. Both Trace and Corbin opened up their laptops as soon as they got in the door and Coulter began gathering together last night’s notes. Looking at the files on the stud’s employees, he couldn’t convince himself that their missing piece was there.

“Trace, get back on the Internet and see if you can find anything about Brooke’s grandmother in the media from twenty years ago. There is something we are missing,” Coulter stated with frustration. He lifted his gaze to the map of Bismarck pinned to the office wall. Sites where women had been abducted were marked with pins. The name
Dr. Smith
was written on a whiteboard with a question mark beside it. “Brooke’s safety is a priority, but the longer it takes us to figure this out, the longer the black market in organs continues to operate.”

“We’ll get them all eventually, Coult. It may take us months, but we’ll get every one of those fuckers,” Trace said.

“Corbin, have you found anything on the other women?” Coulter asked as he looked over to his younger brother.

“Yeah, give me a few more minutes, I’m just following a lead,” Corbin replied distractedly.

“I think I found what we’re looking for about the grandmother,” Trace piped up half an hour later. “Shit. She won the lotto. She was on the news nationwide. She won over ten million dollars.”

Coulter stared at Trace and knew they had found the reason for the latest abduction attempt on Brooke. Trace kept typing, pulling up more information. “The money was placed in a trust. It should have gone to her when the turned eighteen. I think I can find that account…”

“If she got shuffled between homes as a child,” Coulter mused, “the fact that she had money in the bank might have slipped through the cracks.”

“Nobody told her,” Trace agreed.

“And Brooke doesn’t remember it herself. Our little woman is as rich as Croesus and doesn’t even know it.”

“Fuck.” Corbin’s voice prompted both Trace and Coulter to look up at him.

Katlynn Wyatt is a nurse,” Corbin informed them. “And her real name isn’t Wyatt, it’s Howard. She’s been living and working in a public medical clinic in Bismarck and the other women have visited that clinic. They all live in the same town.”

“Shit. Get Bryden, Linton, and Codi in here quick,” Coulter commanded.

Corbin pulled out his cell. He and Trace dug deeper into Brooke’s newly discovered finances. Trace found that the account was in Brooke’s name but had gone untouched since it was established. Corbin’s heart went out to Brooke. Nothing could remove the pain she had gone through at losing all her family, but she might have lived comfortably for the past few years if she’d known.

“What’s the deal?” Bryden asked as he and his brothers entered the office, followed by Corbin.

“How well do you know Katlynn?” Coulter asked.

“Enough,” Bryden replied with a grin.

“Sit,” Coulter said, pointing to the sofa, and waited until the Healy brothers complied.

“Okay, spill it,” Linton demanded.

“Katlynn is a nurse and works in a public clinic in Bismarck. All the other women here went to that clinic,” Coulter stated quietly and watched the three men carefully. Their faces closed off instantly, and they all got that cold, hard look in their eyes.

“You think she’s in on it,” Linton stated.

“Yeah, I do,” Coulter replied. “She was the last one taken, and if she was any kind of nurse she would have realized that Brooke was sick.”

“Shit. You don’t know that, man,” Codi bit out. “If Katlynn’s involved, why would she have been kidnapped herself?”

Coulter wanted to know that, too. He intended to ask Katlynn herself, but he didn’t think it would do any good to say so to Codi. “You’re right, I don’t, but how the hell would that John Doe have known where to find Brooke? Someone here is leaking information. Pike is one of them and I think Katlynn is the other,” Coulter explained.

“They do hang out together,” Trace commented.

All three of the Healys shot him a dirty look at the reminder. “What do they want with Brooke?” Bryden asked.

“She’s rich. Her grandmother won the lottery twenty years ago. She won ten million dollars and no one has touched that money. I can’t even imagine what it would be worth now with the interest over such a long period of time,” Coulter speculated.

The Healy brothers were silent for a moment as they digested that. Then Linton said, “How would Katlynn have known about the money?”

“Maybe it was Pike,” Codi suggested hopefully. “Maybe he corrupted her.”

“I hate to break it to you, but I think the opposite is true,” Coulter said. “Katlynn works for those bastards who are selling off women’s organs for money. They could have found out Brooke was rich the same way we just did. They told Katlynn, and now she’s after Brooke’s money herself. I’m predicting that she and Pike want her to sign the money over to them and then they will kill her.”
