She was stiff as a board and very
afraid, I felt the uncertainty and confusion coming off of her in waves.

son was on guard, his sister was alert, as we three sensed the essence of the
ones coming. There was no danger in the air, no sense of real urgency, I hadn't
been summoned by the elders so I knew whatever it was would be if not trivial
then less than earth shattering, I also knew whatever it was will require me to
go home at least for a while...... 

"What
does that mean....about that.......are you already married......do you have

I know it's selfish, but the thought of you moving on with someone else after

was in tears, her heart was fucking breaking, I felt it, it was despair, total

thrones, though I sit on one of those thrones and my daughter will one day rule

it's proven that you carry the empress, her brother and I have been shielding
her existence while I've been shielding them both from the prying eyes of my
people until I could explain things to you, but it looks like time has ran
out.

the doorbell went, I shielded her with my body as I opened to the three
warriors standing there, they were two old friends Rudolph and Justin and a
younger addition to our little group, Damien.

guess they were chosen to show that this was not a summons but a request.

The
three warriors bowed before us in respect until I moved out of the way, I'd

guess the shield had slipped somehow or her presence had gained in strength
because one by one they fell to their knees, hands over their hearts and roared
with one voice," Hail empress Nicola of Seraphia."

There were questions flying back
and forth after that, lots of excitement, awe, the golden one was upstaged by
his unborn daughter.

friends relaxed their stance as we exchanged back slaps and brotherly kisses
and hugs.

"My
brothers, how goes it with you?"

"Not
as well as with you." Justin punched my arm playfully.

Each
man was giving Tamara surreptitious looks but they knew not to look too hard or
for too long less they set off a blood bath of monumental proportions.

Yes,
it's that serious, the men of my realm take it as an insult if you ogle our
women, unless of course we brought her to your attention for some purpose.

I
understood the fascination they held for her as she was the mother of what
would be their leader, which meant that she herself will be held in much high
esteem.

"So I guess we have the
answer to our question, had you not shielded so well we might not have needed
to make the trip, I'm sure by now the elders at least will be aware of her
conception." Rudolph put forth.

This
wasn't the first time for any of them to visit me here, in fact many of our
people spent time in this realm, for whatever reasons, I'm the only one in our
history to have ever been mated with an earth sister. I knew for some, it was a
weakness, they saw the mating of their golden one to a mortal as somehow
beneath him, but, the call came from whence it came and there was nothing to be
done.

"The
elders will want them home as soon as possible, there's the guard to organize
and much preparations to be made."

I
tuned out Justin for a minute as my daughter communicated to me that her mommy
was not yet ready to make such a trip, she was quick to reassure me that all
will be well when I started questioning whether or not Tamara would ever be
ready.

"Why
don't we relax in the study, I'll see about refreshments."

I
took her with me to the kitchen where we put together a tray for the men,
Tamara was extremely quiet but Nicolas kept me apprised of her vitals.

Apparently
she was in a state of mild shock with the days' revelations, while the
strengthening children in her womb were bringing about drastic changes in her.

As they grew inside her,
especially Nicola she would go through a period of weakness and since she was
of this realm, without our powers it will be hard on her, until somewhere
between the fifth or sixth month when her own abilities will strengthen as well
as her gaining new abilities.

It
didn't take long before Justin was filling us in on the conflict that had
brought them here. It appeared that the Cyclades Clan was still seeking
ascension to the throne, one of the daughters, the more aggressive of the
three, who'd been trying to get her hooks into me for aeons, has now been
questioning my bonding, just one minute in Tamara's presence would convince
anyone of my people of her austerity, but I didn't bow to the dictates of
others, ever.

I
was quite aware that Theodora Cyclades was off balanced and somewhat evil in
her doings at times and though there were still many of my people who had lived
as long as I and some much longer, there were still ways for the lesser beings
to die.

To
protect Tamara, I would destroy many.

"So
you see brother, we must be very cautious, your family must be protected at all
cost, certain provisions must be made before you travel home again. If you
will, might I suggest we return immediately and apprise the elders of the
situation here, and then return with the rest of your guard until you leave
this place?"

Rudolph
drew me from my musings with his offer.

They looked around the room with
a slight sneer of distaste, of course the golden one and their empress were too
good for an earthly mansion. Only a Seraphian would find such opulence
lacking. 

I
knew no matter that my powers were greater than my people's, the elders would
never leave the empress unguarded, even I had to fight for the freedom to be
here like this with Tamara for such a length of time. They took their
protection of me very seriously for though we did not see death like our earth
brothers did, there was still lots of darkness around.

It
would be a minor miracle if they didn't try to send a contingent of ten or
more.

We
spent some more time going back and forth, I was ever aware of my children and
what they were saying, Tamara was growing weak and I needed to get her to bed.

"The
Cyclades woman is more of a nuisance than a real concern, do not trouble
yourselves with such nonsense, as to the guard none is needed here, I am more
than capable of protecting what's mine. We will follow when it's convenient for
my life mate to travel, until then, keep the peace."

They were hardly out the door
before I was hustling her off to bed, the three of them were a tired
mess. 

I
put her to bed and pulled the covers up before kissing her brow and walking
away.

"Stay."

I
walked back to the bed and bent over her.

"I'll
be back soon, I promise, I'm just going to the garden for a bit. Sleep my love,
you need your rest, when you wake up I promise to love you okay?"
