Jamie groaned and continued to suck my nipple, subjecting me to a torrent of delicious torture. I could never have imagined that my breasts and nipples could be so sensitive and be the source of such endless pleasure. The way he treated my body sent me out of my mind. Where did he learn to do all this? Where did sweet, innocent Jamie go?

Suddenly, the temperature in the bathroom rose a thousand degrees. I felt like I was on the verge of hyperventilating. My body was hot, as if I’d been running in a cornfield under Bellwood’s August sun.

I let out a little yelp when Jamie released my nipple. My breath was ragged. My skin covered with a light sheen of perspiration.

He lowered me slightly until we were eye to eye. He pressed his mouth to mine, his eyes staring straight into my soul. “Can you feel me? Hot for you?”

I honestly didn’t know what to say. I didn’t usually talk much during sex. My ex wasn’t the chirpy type either.

“Well?” Jamie pressed. “Can you see it? Can you feel me? I’ve been longing for this moment since forever. You’re my fantasy girl, Simone. Always.”

Clearly, his obsession with me wasn’t healthy. “You’re crazy.”

“Yeah, I am. I’m crazy for you.” Jamie put me on my feet. He pulled down my jeans and panties and flung them away as if afraid I was going to change my mind. He fished something from his jeans pocket before shedding the rest of his clothes. It was a packet of condoms.

“Do you always carry that in your pocket?” I absentmindedly asked.

His wicked smile reappeared. “Only since you moved in.” He tore open the foil with his teeth and sheathed it on his straining cock with one, slick movement. It was rather unnerving to see him do it so quickly and easily. The Jamie before me was certainly not the same sweet Jamie I used to know.

I wondered if he had plotted to get into my pants since I arrived. What else was he up to? Another realization struck me. Was this shower malfunction also part of his devious plan?

So, I asked him.

“Guilty,” he answered. He wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. Our naked bodies pressed against each other, his cock throbbing on my belly.

“Jamie!”

He quieted me with another hard, mind-boggling kiss. “No, you can’t change your mind. I’d go crazy if you did.” He pulled my thigh up and positioned himself at my opening. Before I could take another breath, he penetrated me.

Fuck!
I gasped again.

Jamie groaned. He thrust and thrust until he buried his whole length into me. I was so full I thought I’d explode if he tried to shove deeper. Jamie was huge, and I hadn’t done this in a long time. Suddenly, I got a random flashback to when Sam and I did it for the very first time. I was so fucking stuffed.

“Simone, are you okay?” Jamie sounded worried.

He wiped the tears off my cheek. I didn’t realize I was crying.

I nodded furiously. My laugh was shaky. “I’m fine.”

“Did I hurt you?”

Yes. A bit.
But I wasn’t going to tell him that. The pain hurt so good, so I shook my head instead.

Jamie laughed with me. “For a moment, I thought…” He stilled, and his jaw twitched. His cock pulsed inside me. Hot, throbbing, as if it possessed its own life. “Fuck…” He went speechless for a moment. “I… You feel so fucking good.”

So good it had to be sin, I thought. Since when did sex feel this amazing? I’d only had one sexual partner in my life, and in the last few years of our marriage, it had become more of a chore than a pleasure. And now being intimate with Jamie had opened my eyes to the fact there was other flavors than vanilla.

Jamie pressed his forehead on mine. Our lashes touched as we gazed into each other’s eyes. Jamie moved, slowly, giving me the chance to adjust to the size of his cock.

My pussy contracted around his rock-hard erection. I became wetter and wetter as he fucked me in shallow, sly thrusts. God. The pleasure. New heat burned inside me as my every vein seared with liquid fire. Jamie never stopped watching me the entire time. He maintained eye contact like he wanted to watch every reaction I had.

A dozen strokes, and I was already tethered at the edge of orgasm. He noticed this and pumped another dozen strokes, which made me climax.

I cried softly.

So good. It felt so damn good. It was a baby orgasm, but the pleasure shook me to my core.

“That’s fine, baby. I’ll make you come more. As many times as you possibly can.”

Say what?

Jamie pulled out his cock. He turned me around and penetrated me from behind. The way he moved me was flawless, like he was the master of this dance. A heartbeat later, I found myself drifting over the edge of another orgasm. My pussy contracted as he pulled and thrust over and over. And over. I bit my lip, not trusting myself not to scream.

My heart hammered in my throat. The air around me thinned.

I couldn’t breathe.

I was so close, and I was going crazy.

Jamie quickened his thrust. Voracious thrusts. Primal. Rough. Incessant.

I exploded in an instant. The intense pleasure threw me into oblivion. My pussy milked his cock in waves of galvanic spasm.

It was beyond orgasm.

It was rapture.

Jamie groaned as he ejaculated. He held me hard against him, and I could feel his erratic heartbeat as his cock spasmed.

I pressed my face against the tiles of the bathroom wall. Jamie crowded me and spooned his face in the crook of my neck. He whispered something, something about love.

I regretted it as soon as he said it.

God, what the hell had I just done?

Chapter Four

Jamie spent the night in my bed. Morning came and I felt a twinge of regret. Okay, a lot of regret. When all my senses returned, I tried to have a word with him.

“Jamie,” I began.

He took one look at me and said, “Hell no!”

“I haven’t said anything.”

“I know what you’re going to say. You have buyer remorse.”

“I think we’ve better—”

Jamie silenced me with a hard kiss. “I’ve got to go early on the site. Love ya.”

“Jamie!”

He only waved and hurried out from my room.

“Oh, that’s really mature, Jamie.” He didn’t want to have this conversation because he didn’t want to break up with me. Or I think that was why he was avoiding me. As if the sex last night had automatically made me his girlfriend. Did it? I should have seen this before, but this was very confusing. How long was he planning to avoid me so we couldn’t discuss what had happened between us?

I couldn’t face Nate and Luke with a straight face when I served them breakfast. I was so flushed, Luke thought I had a fever.

He pressed his hand on my forehead, feeling me. “You’re kind of warm.”

“I’m not. I’m fine.”

“Doesn’t look like it.”

I cast him an annoyed look. “I’m fine.”

Luke looked bewildered. “If you say so.”

“I’m sorry. I have a lot of things on my mind.”

“Wanna talk about it?”

Talk about it? How?
Yeah, you see, Luke, I fucked Jamie last night and I’m having buyer remorse, just like he said. Can you see, I feel guilty as hell?

I shook my head. “Thanks. It’s nothing.”

Luke pinched my cheek. “If you need somebody to talk, I’m here for you. You know that, right?” He then kissed me straight on the lips and left for work.

I was thunderstruck in his wake.

What the hell was that? Seriously, what the hell was that?

That wasn’t a friendly kiss. That was a sex kiss.

Yes, it was!

Out of nowhere, the image of him riding me, doing everything that Jamie and I did last night, popped in my mind.

No, no, no.
I pulled my hair and shook my head furiously.

I couldn’t entertain that kind of thought.

Then, the image of Nate and I doing the nasty flashed in my mind.

I’m crazy…

Yep, I’m going crazy. Jamie has made me addicted to sex. He gave me a little cookie, and now I want the entire jar
.

I excused myself and went to my room to take a long, cold shower.

As I dried and combed my hair, I could see clearly that I was in big trouble.

I was my own worst enemy.

Jamie avoided me for the next two days. I cornered him last night to have that “talk,” but he refused to discuss it. He said he’d wait until I’d calmed down. He said I was confused about my feelings. He told me he loved me and was crazy for me and that he didn’t want to end this physical relationship just yet.

The next day came and went, and I still couldn’t decide what I was going to do about all this. To top it off, the AC in my room suddenly broke. A late summer night in Bellwood without air-conditioning was rather hellish.

I couldn’t sleep. I took another shower and migrated into the living room to cool myself. Only Nate was in the house. Luke hadn’t come home, and the devil Jamie was at a friend’s house, having a stag party.

“What’s wrong?” Nate asked.

“The AC in my room is broken.”

“Oh, yeah?” He promptly got up from the sofa. “Let me take a look.”

“You know how to fix an AC unit?”

Nate pushed his glasses higher on the bridge of his nose. “The heating and cooling in this house are all computerized. I designed the systems myself.”

I perked up. I didn’t need to sleep in an oven after all. “That’s great.”

Nate grabbed his laptop and went to my apartment. I followed him silently. He opened the AC cover and fiddled with its computer board. He also busied himself with his laptop, typing some commands. A half-hour later, the cool air kicked on in my room.

“Yeah!” I was happy. “Thanks, Nate. You’re a lifesaver!”

“No problem.” He put the AC cover back on and washed his hands in the sink. As he wiped his hands with some paper towels, he fired a question at me that I couldn’t dodge. “Did you sleep with Jamie?”

Crap!
Nate was more observant than I thought.

I couldn’t answer him.

“Simone,” he pressed.

“Are you going to fire me?” I asked quietly.

“What? No. That’s crazy. I wouldn’t kick you on the street because of that.”

I felt relieved instantly. “I’m sorry. It won’t happen again.”

Nate studied my face. He didn’t look happy. “It isn’t that. It’s just not fair.”

Eh?

“I’m crazy about you too. I don’t know if you play dumb. I thought I’d given you strong signals.”

What, what?

I struggled with my words.

Nate yanked me into him and kissed me so suddenly. It wasn’t a friendly kiss. It was kiss on the mouth with tongue and all.

The effect of the kiss stunned me, and a shockwave of pleasure seared through my whole being. The revelation rendered me speechless. What the hell just happened? Nate stole a kiss from me and my body responded wantonly. Since when did I get easily turned on? Since when did I get—

Nate held my head with both hands and kissed me as if it was the only thing he wanted to do on his last day on Earth. My knees weakened, and my blood boiled in my veins. All my bones turned to gel. I could only stand like a stone while my mind and body waged war against one another.

I should have pushed him away and established our boundaries like I was supposed to. However, my body responded to his sexual initiation with unexpected greed.

No. This is not right…

With great willpower, I forced myself to break away from his kisses. “Nate, you shouldn’t…”

His gaze cut into me sharply, and the intensity of his eyes made me shiver. They smoldered as if Nate was an incarnation of the God of Fire himself.

“What’s wrong?” he asked. His voice was hoarse. “There’s nothing wrong with what goes on between a man and a woman who are attracted to each other. I love you. I know on some level you like me too.”

He—what? Nate loved me?

“Or do you like Jamie better? I can understand why. He’s younger. Better looking and—”

“It’s not that,” I interjected. All the Cody brothers were handsome and each had his own irresistible appeal. Jamie was a candy-apple-eye kind of guy, while Luke was the silent, mysterious, and dangerous type, and Nate was one of those cool, reserved, and smart types. Damn it! I liked them all.

Nate studied my expression and waited.

I thought of an excuse. “It just… you’re my employer…”
Aarg!
Lame.

Nate went silent for long seconds. “I can’t accept that.” He grabbed me and casually swept me off my feet. He carried me to bed and fell on top of me.

“Nate!”

“You should give me the same chance you gave Jamie. It’s only fair, Simone.”

“What happened between me and Jamie was a mistake!” A surge of guilt crept into my throat after I blurted that one out. Was it really mistake? It felt so right, even I knew it was wrong. Damn! Why was I trying to justify sleeping with Jamie?

Nate traced the side of my jaw with the tip of his finger. “Mistake? Did Jamie force you?”

“No,” I said. Scandalized.

“Did he trick you?”

“No.”

“Was it consensual?”

“Why are you interrogating me? You sound just like Luke.”

“Don’t try to change the subject. Why do you think sleeping with Jamie was a mistake? You both consented, and you’re both adults. Or do you still love your husband?”

“No. And that’s ‘ex-husband.’ Soon to be.” My tone heated. I cringed afterward.

Nate smiled. “That makes you available. As a single man, I don’t see anything wrong with a guy like me courting a woman like you. Since you’re not Jamie’s girl and all.”

Really? His style of courting was French kissing and pinning a woman to a bed. Had the rules of dating changed since I got hitched to Sam?

He must have read my expression, and his smiled broadened. The smoldering heat in his eyes returned. “I want you no matter what it takes.”

His declaration touched me deeply. “You like me that much?”

Nate didn’t answer. He kept stroking my cheek with his thumb. Anguish, yearning, and lust painted his handsome face.

Something inside me wanted to soothe him.

“You left us when we needed you the most. I guess your absence left a hole in our hearts. I used to think it was selfish of you. Sam didn’t need you as much as we did. He didn’t love you as much as we did. After you were gone, we were obsessed with finding your replacement, but no one came close to you. It made us more obsessed with you.” Nate paused and traced the contours of my lips. “Imagine my surprise when you suddenly showed up on our doorstep. It’s fate, don’t you think? You belong to us.”
