Dylan twisted his fingers in a very distracting way and pressed his palm against her sensitive clit. The sounds of her panting moans filled the air around them. It surprised her just how loud she could be. Of course, there was a lot she didn’t know about her own sexuality.

She’d been missing out all these years, but now that her and Dylan were finally together, she intended to make up for lost time.

Dylan seemed to be of the same mindset. He managed to coax a lifetime’s worth of pleasure out of her in a very short amount of time.

“Dylan, please. I know it’s my first time. But I can’t wait any longer.”

“That’s why I’m taking my time,” he said. “I want to make sure everything is just right.”

Her eyes danced over his body, drinking in the hard ridges of his muscles in the dim light of the bedroom. She ran her hand down his strong cheekbones, cupping his face. She locked gazes with him.

“I can’t imagine things ever being more right than they are at this moment,” she said. “I want you right now. Give me the thing I’ve been dreaming about for so long.”

Dylan growled low and raspy. “I wish I had the time to take things more slowly. So I could taste every inch of your delicious body. But I’ve been waiting for this moment, too. And I can’t hold back any longer.”

Dylan’s sure hands wedged between her legs and guided them open. Rory spread herself eagerly, trembling with anticipation. She was thankful the room was mostly shadow so that Dylan couldn’t see how nervous she felt.

She wanted him more badly than she’d ever wanted anything, but at the same time, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of anxiety. She’d never done this before. What if she wasn’t any good? What if things were painful like she’d heard about? What if this changed things between them in some terrible, irrevocable way?

In the end, she didn’t care. She knew she needed and wanted this. That was enough, at least for tonight.

Dylan guided his thick cock between her legs. His stiff head parted her gently. He rubbed the tip of himself along her cleft with agonizing slowness. She groaned at the sensation, feeling like she would explode when he pressed his head against her swollen clit.

Then he positioned himself back at her entrance, lining himself up. He looked down into her eyes and kissed her tenderly.

Then he slid himself inside her. The sensation was unlike anything she’d ever experienced before. There was a quick sting of pain, and her entire body froze with tension. But it was quickly replaced by the delicious sensation of his length inside her.

So this was it? She was a virgin no longer. The idea sent a thrill through her. She felt like a major part of her life was now complete. After imagining this moment for so long, she couldn’t be more thrilled that it had finally happened. And that it finally happened with Dylan.

Those thoughts scattered on the wind as Dylan slowly stroked himself inside her. The feelings it awoke in her demanded her attention. She thought the throbbing ache inside her would subside, but if anything, her need became more intense.

Rory tilted her hips upwards, giving Dylan better access to her. She might not know much about sex, but she knew how good it felt when Dylan found certain spots. She did her best to guide him to those spots.

“Oh my God, Dylan. This is amazing.”

Sounds of her moans filled the air, but she was no longer embarrassed. Everything just felt too good to worry. Besides, Dylan had told her how much he liked the sounds she made. He gave her the freedom to enjoy herself without shame.

Dylan thrust inside her with a steady rhythm. He leaned down to trail kisses along her neck. Every touch of his lips was electric, sending a jolt of pleasure right to her core. He held himself up with one powerful arm and kneaded her tender breasts with his free hand.

Her entire body was on fire. Every nerve ending sizzled and popped from the sensations Dylan awoke within her. She couldn’t believe how good he could make her feel. Had she known, she would’ve tracked down Dylan years ago.

Dylan grunted and groaned, seeming to be enjoying himself every bit as much as Rory was. He plunged into her, seeming to go deeper and deeper with every stroke of his magnificent cock. His body tortured her deliciously. Pleasure consumed her body. She thought she might die if he didn’t stop, but she thought she would die if he did stop.

His lips crashed against hers. His teeth scraped over her lower lip maddeningly. There was something amazing about being connected to each other like this. Like they completed each other. The feeling was too intense. Too electric. She could feel her body about to burst. About to explode around Dylan’s length.

She moaned into his mouth, trying to hold back the feeling for some reason. She had the distant thought that she never wanted this moment to end. But then pleasure took over.

She slipped over the delicious edge. Wave after wave of pleasure pulsed through her body. Her lips broke away from Dylan’s and she moaned so loudly she worried the entire world could hear her.

Her entire body shook as she rode out her orgasm. She was vaguely aware of Dylan’s body tensing up as well. She felt his cock spasm inside her, filling her with his fertile seed.

She’d never felt closer to him than she did in that moment. Like they’d finally been united completely.

Dylan collapsed next to her and pulled her body next to his, holding her possessively in his arm. He looked into her eyes, and she saw something in his gaze she hadn’t seen in a long time. Dylan actually looked happy.

He kissed her then, slow and lingering. He pressed his forehead against hers.

“I love you, Aurora,” Dylan said.

She smiled shyly. “You’re the only who calls me that.”

He nodded. “Good. I like that. It’s like that name, your real name, is just for me.”

She blushed. “I like that, too.”

“I know I made the mistake of pushing you away in the past, but I just want you to know, I’m never letting you out of my sight again. It would take an army to keep me away from you.”

***

Dylan awoke the next morning with Aurora cuddled up against him. Her sleeping face was so beautiful and serene, he didn’t have the heart to wake her. Instead, he just enjoyed the sight of her lying next to him. He savored the feeling of her soft, warm body curled up in his arms. And he took pleasure in the fact that they had somehow been reunited after all these years.

It hadn’t just been coincidence. At the same time, it hadn’t just been fate. Dylan had been home to run into Aurora for one reason and one reason only. His brother Noah had instructed him to be here. If fate had taken its course, Dylan would’ve been a thousand miles away in some dusty little shifter town while Aurora was all alone.

Although that wasn’t true either. There had been men following her. Evil men with evil intentions. Aurora was a strong woman, but Dylan knew if he hadn’t been there, she would never have been able to get away from them.

Dylan reminded himself to talk to Noah when he had a chance. Dylan needed to know just what exactly had prompted Noah to set Dylan on this path. And more importantly, Dylan had to thank his brother.

But he could do that later. For now, Dylan was content to enjoy the presence of his one true love in his arms. There was no greater feeling in the world. And now that Dylan had her back, he would die before letting anyone or anything come between them again.

It didn’t matter what Hunter had said. The fact that he’d disapproved of Dylan and Aurora getting together still bothered Dylan. In a perfect world, Hunter would’ve understood how much Dylan cared about his sister. Of course, in a perfect world, Hunter would still be alive.

Unfortunately, the world was not a perfect place. A person couldn’t have everything they wanted. Although at that moment, lying in bed next to Aurora was the closest thing to perfect Dylan could ever hope for.

Aurora drew in a quick, deep breath, signaling that she was awake. She stretched like a cat, and Dylan felt an overwhelming sense of affection swell within him. Aurora seemed to become aware of Dylan’s presence mid-stretch. Her outstretched hand curled down to feel behind her. She patted Dylan’s abs and hip, like a blind woman feeling around.

She spun around and looked up at Dylan with shining eyes. “So it wasn’t a dream?”

“If it is, were both sharing it. And I plan on never waking up.”

He leaned down to kiss her, a feeling of contentment in his chest.

“So how are you feeling this morning?” Dylan asked.

“Tired, sore, happy. It’s one of the best mornings I’ve had in a very long time.”

“I was just thinking the same thing.”

“And you?” she asked.

“Well, I woke up with the strangest feeling.”

“Oh yeah, what feeling is that?”

“I actually felt at peace.”

Aurora didn’t say anything. She just looked up at him and blinked.

“Is that dumb?” he asked. “Does that sound silly?”

Aurora shook her head, her eyes shiny with emotion. “That’s not dumb at all. You don’t know how happy that makes me. You’ve fought for so long, I think you deserve a little peace.”

“I can’t remember the last time I felt this way. Well, if I had to guess, I’m sure it was before I went off and joined the military.”

He leaned back on his pillow and stared up at the ceiling. Aurora leaned her head on his chest.

“Do you ever regret it?” she asked. “Joining the Sin Eaters?”

Dylan spoke without hesitation. “No. I regret things that happened during my service. But I don’t regret joining. It was something I had to do.”

“And why is that?”

“Did I ever tell you where my squad got its name?”

“No. You said you would explain it to me someday.”

“Well, the name wasn’t chosen just because it sounds cool. The Sin Eaters is an all-shifter squad. You see, the government knows about our kind. But they agree to keep our existence a secret and to leave us alone as long as volunteers from the shifter community agree to serve in special military units, like the Sin Eaters.”

“Okay.”

“And a sin eater is somebody who agrees to take on the bad things, the sins, in order to protect other people. So in this case, those of us who volunteer, like your brother and I, agree to do some bad things in exchange for keeping all of our kind safe.”

“My God. I had no idea.”

“Most people don’t. Just a select few know about the deal between shifters and the government.”

“I’ve always wondered how we’ve managed to keep our secret from the world. Especially in modern society.”

“Now you know. And now you see why I don’t regret joining up for a second. My sacrifice makes it possible for my family and your family and all of shifter kind in this country to continue existing without worrying about government interference.”

“So that’s what Hunter sacrificed his life for?”

“Yes.”

“Well then, he died a hero.”

“Yes he did.”

Dylan was silent for a moment, mulling over his friend’s death. It reminded him of something else. A much more pressing matter.

“But your father, on the other hand. He was murdered. He deserves justice.”

“Yes, he does. I’m going to make Bishop pay for what he did.”

Dylan nodded. “Not just you. I’m going to help. You have my word on that.”

Aurora squeezed him tightly. “Thank you, Dylan. I feel so much better knowing that you’re in my corner.”

“So all this started because Bishop wanted you for his mate?”

“Yes. He thinks if I’m his mate, he’ll have a stronger claim to be leader of the Stone Bears. He wanted it so bad he was willing to force me into becoming his mate.”

A feeling of intense jealousy flooded through Dylan. A low, threatening growl rumbled in his chest. The thought of another man laying his hands on Aurora made him want to murder somebody. The destruction of the trees outside Dylan’s home would be nothing compared to what Dylan would do to any man who tried to hurt Aurora.

“He’ll pay for that. Trust me. But let me get this straight. Is that all it takes to be leader of your clan? To marry into the alpha line?”

“That’s basically how it works for the Stone Bears. At some point, I guess my ancestors thought they were more civilized. They figured it was a less bloody way to find a new leader.”
