Trust me,” I said. “You don’t want to see a croc!”

“
Your mom and I almost gotten eaten by one,” Jake chimed in.

“
You’re teasing, right?” Alex asked.

“
Luckily, an elephant stepped in and saved the day,” I said. “But don’t worry. We’re staying in the vehicle. I opted for the nice and safe safari adventure this time around.”

“
Anto is waiting for us,” Josh said.

We were happy to see Anto again. He was our safari guide the last time we visited Africa.

“
When can we leave, Daddy, when?” Alex asked.

“
Right now,” Jake answered.

“
Yay!” they all screamed in excitement.

“
But we can’t all go in zebra pajamas,” I said.

I didn’t usually wear those kind of pajamas, but the kids had gotten them for all of us as a surprise gift, especially for this trip. Nadia had taken them to the store and they used their own money. I thought it was the sweetest thing ever.

“
Sure we can!” Alex chimed in.

Jake ruffled his hair. “A lion might mistake us for a herd of wild zebras.”

“
Then let’s hury up and get dressed!” Josh said.

Smiling, I looked at Jake in his zebra striped pajamas, then I looked lovingly at my beautiful family. I had everything I could ever possibly want. My business had taken off and my designs were all across the globe. Nadia and I had worked hard and had become a success, faster than we ever thought possible. Jake touched my bulging belly and grinned. I touched his face and smiled back. We were due to have our fourth child in four months, and couldn’t be more excited.

I couldn’t stop smiling. I thought love was for everyone else, definitely not for me. Boy, had I been wrong. Giving Jake another chance had been the best decision I ever made. He was my best friend, my soul mate and the best husband I could ever ask for.

I never thought I’d be one of those women who get their ‘happily ever after’. But I guess dreams really do come true.
