When he turned to walk toward the entrance of the shop, Stephen leapt out and kicked him right in the throat, sending Werner to his knees.

"This is not possible! I would have felt you! I would have smelled you!" Werner hissed.

"Oh, this is possible. I have practiced this for years."

Werner flinched as Stephen raised his blade into the air and sliced through his neck like butter. The vampire's head bounced off the floor like a basketball. Stephen wanted the head away from him so he kicked it to the other side of the shop.

After putting the blade away, Stephen rushed back to Vivian's side. He knew that she was just barely clinging to life and had to figure out if there was anything he could do. At first, he thought it was hopeless but decided that there was one thing he could try. He took his blade back out of its sheath and made a small cut on his jugular vein. Instantly, blood began to spill out.

Stephen reached out and grabbed Vivian by the back of her head and brought her in close to his body. He leaned down and placed the cut directly over her lips. Vivian remained motionless for nearly a half hour but he would not give up. Finally, he felt her tongue lick at his neck. At first, the lick was very light but got stronger by the minute. From out of nowhere, he felt the pain of her fangs being buried into his neck. He yelled out in pain as he felt his blood being sucked out.

Vivian drank and drank as she began to awaken. Once she had come to and cleared the cobwebs out of her brain, she realized that she knew the taste of this blood. When she opened her eyes, she saw Stephen.

Everything was beginning to get dark for Stephen. He attempted to push Vivian away and back his neck away but it was impossible. She was regaining strength while he lost his. It took everything he had to call out to her and tell her to stop.

Vivian instantly removed herself from his neck and pressed her hand against the wound. He didn't know how she was doing it but she was able to will his blood to stop flowing from the wound. Once the bleeding completely subsided, she removed her hand and used it to wipe the blood from the corners of her mouth.

"You have saved me Mr. Rozar."

Stephen looked up and nodded his head very weakly.

"Please, allow me to return the favor." Vivian said.

She reached out for his knife and placed the blade against her wrists.

It took everything he had to stand up, reach out and take the blade out of her hands. "Please don't. I can't feed from you."

A look of sadness took over Vivian's face as she nodded her head up and down. "I understand why you think that but I want the two of us to be together for all times.

Stephen smiled at her and caressed her arm.

"There is nothing I would like more, Vivian, but both of us know that it is not possible. It would never work. There would just be more of these situations. Things like this would continue until both of us were dead."

Stephen reached into his pocket and took out a small pendant that was given to him. It was meant to ward off evil vampires. If a bad vampire came in contact with it, it would burn them severely. He was certain that this would not be a problem for Vivian. She was one of the good ones. He took the pendant and placed it into her hand.

"This will help keep you safe."

She smiled a giant smile as she looked down at the pendant. She knew exactly what it was and knew that it could only be held by those whose hearts were pure.

Stephen took his gun out of its holster, removed the empty magazine and replaced it with a full clip. He then reached over to Vivian and held her in a deep embrace. Finally, he cradled her head in his hands and gave her a deep kiss.

Once he was done, he turned and began to leave. Vivian shouted out, "I love you Stephen!"

Stephen stopped dead in his tracks, turned around and replied, "I love you too." He then walked out of the shop and disappeared into the night.
