“Where are you going?”

60

Olivia jumped at Cameron’s tone as she smoothed her dress down over her hips. She turned to face him, letting her eyes drift over his naked body. Her traitorous pussy moistened, and her nipples pebbled, but she strengthened her resolve. She was totally angry with this man and needed time to think it through, to process it. Maybe it was irrational, but she was fighting an incredibly strong urge to smack him up alongside the head and kick him when he fell down, then jump on his cock and impale herself. She was both exhilarated and annoyed that he had unleashed her sexuality and given her such pleasure, albeit accompanied by some discomfort and erotic pain, which, if she was totally honest with herself, had made that pleasure even better. But most of all she was angry with herself for agreeing to spend this night with him. Because she wasn’t sure she could go back to being Olivia Foster, and tonight had been merely an interlude for Cameron. What had he called it? An experiment. A fling. Oh, he would want another day or two with her, until he could fuck her ass. She wasn’t stupid.

She knew his intent. And then there would be nothing new, nothing to conquer. He had spoken of all his casual subs, and she was damned if she would ever fit that description. Olivia Foster was nothing like casual. She felt tears prick at her eyes and impatiently forced them back.

“I’m going to try and get to my hotel room without anyone seeing me and realizing that I’ve been out all night doing God knows what,” she retorted, watching Cameron’s face darken.

“I want you to stay with me today,” he said.

“And
I
don’t want to,” she replied.

Cameron stalked toward her, his cock filling and rising toward his belly. Olivia dragged her eyes from it and put up a hand.

“Red light.”

Cameron froze, and Olivia was transported back to the childhood game. What was next? Mother May I? Tag? Cameron Says? She fought a hysterical laugh and shook her head. She was simply overtired and overwhelmed.

“I’m done, Cameron. It was intense, and thanks.” She picked up her purse, minus the mascara, and let herself out the door. She heard a muffled curse and something hit the door with a crack, and she ran to the elevator and pounded on the button.

However, Cameron respected that safe word, and she got to her room without incident. Her clothes went into a laundry bag, and she fell into the big bed without turning out the little bedside lamp.

Exhaustion swallowed her up like a frog licks a fly into its belly, and she knew nothing more.

Chapter Six

Olivia awoke to pounding on her hotel room door. She blearily looked at the bedside clock and saw that it was just after ten. She was tired, and sore. Surely she didn’t have to get up so they could clean the room! She pulled the pillow over her head, but the pounding continued. Then she heard her name being called. It was Cameron. So much for holding him at bay with a safe word. She felt her anger swell and inspire her. She jumped out of bed, slightly disconcerted to find herself naked, and grabbed her robe from the chair. Its fine material swathed her and minimized the chafe on her nipples. Even so, she winced because it reminded her of the incredible sensations she had experienced the night before for the first time ever. She marched to the door with greater purpose and opened it on the chain.

Cameron’s angry face was framed in the narrow opening, and she involuntarily stepped back for an instant before again being swamped with annoyance.

“What do you want?” she nearly shouted.

“Let me in, Olivia. I’ve waited six hours for you to rest. We need to talk.”

“I’m not ready to talk to you, Cameron. I’ll let you know when I am,” she retorted, and tried to close the door. Cameron simply leaned on it and she found to her frustration that she couldn’t budge it.

“Back off,” she snapped.

“I’m not going anywhere until we talk, honey,” he insisted. “Let me in.”

“No. Or is that a word you aren’t familiar with?” Olivia itched to smack him.

Cameron smiled at her, and the look was nearly feral. Olivia’s breath hitched and her sex awoke, preparing for him. Damn it. The previous night’s education had opened up doors to things she hadn’t known existed. But she wasn’t going to consider it an initiation.

Cameron wasn’t a club, or at least not one she was inclined to belong to.

“I don’t think you understand, Olivia,” he advised her, “I won’t hear that word from you. It’s not part of our vocabulary.”

“I used that safe word,” Olivia retorted. “Now go away.”

“And I told you I would stop and then we would discuss it. So let me in and that’s what we’ll do.”

Olivia walked away and headed into the bathroom. She turned on the fan and then the water in the sink to mask his voice. He could shout through the crack in the door if he chose and hopefully hotel staff and guests would see him. They could deal with him. He could explain. She slammed the bathroom door and began to wash up. Her nipples and privates were really tender and she whimpered a little, glad that no one could hear her. She had applied light makeup and was in the process of brushing out her hair when the door swung open and Cameron stood in the doorway.

“What are you doing here? How did you get in?” she nearly screamed at him, reaching for her robe to cover herself as she did so.

Cameron grabbed her wrists and pulled her to him, tossing the robe back into the bedroom. It was forgotten, and the hairbrush clattered to the floor when his mouth descended upon hers. Olivia fought to keep her wits about her and might have succeeded except Cameron deepened the kiss, forcing his tongue inside her mouth to duel with hers. It felt like her very soul was being taken, and she found herself relaxing into him, allowing him to take her weight. She didn’t resist when he picked her up and cradled her against his chest, never taking his mouth from hers. He carried her into the bedroom and gently laid her on the bed, only then releasing her lips. She felt weak and overwhelmed. Her eyes filled with tears, and she fought

against them. It wasn’t fair that he would do this to her, steal her will and make her want things she shouldn’t.

“It’s okay, honey,” Cameron murmured. “It’s okay. I’ve got you.” He stretched out beside her and stroked her from breast to thigh, and his eyes darkened with desire until he saw her nipples.

“Oh, Olivia, here…”

Cameron jumped up and reached for a sack on the dresser. He extricated a tube, twisted the top off, and poked it open with the pointed end. Olivia watched as he squeezed a little of the clear gel out and applied it to first one nipple, then the other. She hissed at the cold and then relaxed as the soreness diminished.

“I should have had this for you last night, honey. I didn’t think I would push you as far as I did. Except you were ready for it.” Cameron’s face flushed, probably at the memory of her readiness.

A gentleman wouldn’t remind her of that, damn him. She was used to gentlemen. Andrew had been a gentleman. Cameron had turned her world upside down, and it wasn’t comfortable. Olivia’s temper flared again. He was so darn presumptuous. It was like he really knew what she needed. Except he did. She had totally embraced the sex, the domination. He had known and had given it to her, and now wanted to give her more. But she wasn’t going to let him entice her, ensnare her with pleasure. Because he would break her heart, for now she totally knew what it was she was would lose when he left her again. If she could make him go away, she might find it elsewhere and keep her heart intact. She made to push herself up.

“Spread your legs.”

Cameron’s deep voice nearly made her comply. God, she was so weak.

“No,” she managed to say.

“Olivia, I want to look at your clit. It must be sore, honey, and I’ll put some gel on it.”

“Leave the gel and I’ll do it myself,” she replied. “Just leave period, Cameron. How did you get in here anyway?”

65

Cameron lowered his bulk over her and pinned her with his weight. “You’ll have to get a new security chain, honey. You really didn’t think that would keep me out?”

Olivia cut her eyes to the doorframe and gasped at the sight of raw, splintered wood where the brass screws had once held the chain secure.

“Good grief, Cameron! How am I supposed to explain that?” She raged.

“Get off of me.”

“Let me take care of your clit,” came his determined response.

Olivia fumed and then nodded. She had never thought of herself as a violent person, ever, but he was bringing something out in her that she had never felt before. She wanted him to control her even as she resisted. Her body totally responded to his approach. Yet she wanted to punch him, bite him, and kick him and have
him
respond.

Never had she felt so alive. She was clearly insane.

Cameron moved to sit beside her hip, and Olivia inched her legs apart.

“Wider, honey, like you did for me last night,” he urged.

Blood rushed to her face, and Olivia both cringed and thrilled to the memory and the fact that she was once again naked, on a bed, with Cameron. She spread wide and he shifted to bend her knees up, placing her feet flat on the bed. He gently spread her folds near the top of her sex and his eyes narrowed a bit.

“It will be okay in a little while, Olivia,” he assured her. “I won’t apologize for tormenting you, but I need to take care of you afterward better than I did.”

He kept saying that, saying that he wanted to care for her. Olivia had been the caregiver during all of her adult life. This felt strange yet welcome, but she wasn’t sure she wanted to trust it. He probably did this with all his women, all his
casual
subs. When Cameron carefully smoothed a large dollop of the topical anesthetic over her clitoris, Olivia fought the arousal that accompanied the soothing sensation. Oh

God, she couldn’t, simply couldn’t do this again for so many reasons.

He pushed a finger up inside of her and found that special spot as he whispered another finger over her clit. Olivia suddenly climaxed and gave herself up to the pleasure. She vaguely considered through the haze of gratification that, unless she could keep her distance, Cameron was going to keep her from processing this thing between them. And when he tired of her, she would be devastated. Somehow she needed to push him away, but lost as she was in the gentle, empty clenching of her sex as she came down, the wherefores of that task eluded her.

“Olivia.” Cameron was talking to her again. “Never refuse a reasonable request from me again. You won’t like the consequences.” Olivia closed her eyes. She couldn’t let him do this to her. He wasn’t kidding when he said he said he was dominant. He wore his dominance like a mantle. She gathered the last of her strength and resolve and rolled quickly away to the other side of the bed and heaved herself to her feet, her heart feeling heavier than her body.

“Please leave, Cameron,” she begged. “Please.”

“I can’t, honey,” he replied. “If I do, before we talk, you will shut me out and convince yourself that we are a bad idea. We haven’t even started.”

Olivia felt her knees go weak, and she let herself fall to them, then canted to one side and slipped down to the carpet, curling inward, finally folding her arms around herself. He was going to take everything and leave her with nothing. She let the tears flow and shut out the anxious sound Cameron made. He plucked her up and cuddled her against him as he sat down in the single upholstered chair. He rocked her and muttered nonsensical sounds against her hair. She simply wept and sobbed and did her best to hold some part of her from him.

Cameron rocked his woman and comforted her as best as he could. She was trying really hard to withhold. That he knew. What he didn’t understand was why. She was angry with him. He had put that together after thinking about it during their hours apart, and he thought he understood why. But it didn’t explain why she was so scared. Last night had probably been overwhelming for her but had been immensely freeing and insightful, too, for both of them. He could not have mistaken her response to him, and he could give her everything she needed sexually. But he wanted to give her more. He wanted to become her best friend, her confidante. He wanted everything for himself that he hoped to give her. They had forever to pursue this. She would be sharing with him in the next while, no matter how she resisted. He had been wrong once about her best interest, and he wasn’t about to compound his error. When Olivia’s sobs quieted and her tears ceased to soak his shirt, Cameron mopped her face and held the tissues for her to blow her nose and spoke to her, quietly, but firmly.

“Olivia, honey, you need to tell me what’s going on. I can’t fix it unless you do.”

He waited for her to respond, but she said nothing. Cameron was at a loss. Should he give her time or push her? Every instinct was screaming for him to insist that she tell him.

“I can take the choice away, Livy, if that would help. If that’s what you need.”

Olivia jerked upright in his arms, her beautiful face still stained with tears, her nose red and her eyes puffy.

“What do you mean by that?” Her voice, although thick with emotion, was cold. “I don’t owe you anything. I don’t have to tell you anything.”

Cameron sighed. His girl had fallen back into that reserved, safe style of relating to him. Withholding.

“You do, sweetheart. You are mine, Olivia, and everything about you is my business.”

He was unprepared for her immediate reaction. She slipped through his arms to the floor and rolled away, coming to her feet in one fluid motion of naked grace. The bathroom door closed and locked behind her before he could get up from the chair. Cameron smiled and stretched. He spent several moments thinking warm thoughts of their future. Olivia was full of contradictions and he was going to spend the rest of their lives exploring them. She couldn’t stay in the bathroom forever, and when she came out, she would discover that her things were packed and residing in his suite. He’d leave her the robe to wear when she made the journey there herself. Except a large man was stepping into the room and speaking into a radio in his hand.

“The intruder is still here. I’ll wait for backup.” Cameron snapped out of his daydream. The little wench had called security, and he was in shit. He opened his mouth to explain and then realized that the broken chain on the door spoke volumes, and the fact that the room’s occupant was apparently hiding in the bathroom didn’t make things look too good for him either. He was going to paddle her ass for this and have her on her knees immediately thereafter. He chose to say nothing and waited patiently.

He then obeyed the arriving patrolman’s dictum that he stand up and take the position. The search didn’t bother him, but the handcuffs were another matter. He liked handcuffs, albeit the fur-lined kind, and it was never him who wore them. He hoped the process at the police station didn’t take too long. Olivia would make things up to him regardless.
