“Jacob…” Vivienne touched his cheek, then ran her fingers over his lips. “It was the best birthday…ever.”

“And your night isn’t over yet.” Jacob gave her a tender kiss that promised much more. Her birthday wasn’t over, not nearly. They had all night together, and it would be one she would remember for a long time. Vivienne was sure of that.

Chapter 4

Jacob wasn’t adept at arranging social events, but with his assistant’s guidance Vivienne’s party had come off well. In the dark back seat, she had her head on his shoulder, with her hand on his thigh. She’d tempted him all evening in her tight gold dress, looking so luscious that it should be a sin. He couldn’t wait to peel it off.

The limo pulled into the garage, and Jacob let the driver retrieve all the gifts from the trunk while he took Vivienne up in the elevator. When they entered the dark penthouse, he turned on a low light. The driver deposited the gifts in the foyer, and Jacob paid him, tipping liberally.

Vivienne leaned against him, wrapping her arms around his waist. The gesture touched Jacob, and he stroked her hair. “Let’s go upstairs,” he said, leading her up to the bedroom. He helped her out of the sleek dress, and kissed her bare shoulder.

“I’ll be right back.” Jacob went to the other bathroom while Vivienne got ready. But when he returned, she was buried in the bed with a fluffy pillow stuffed under her head. Her breathing was heavy; she was sound asleep.

Jacob smiled, then turned off the light and slipped in next to her. The glimmer of outside light on the window cast a soft glow over the bed. Vivienne’s blond hair was fanned out, her face lovely in her peaceful repose. Jacob dozed for a while, and when he woke up, Vivienne stirred.

Partially awake, she nestled against him. Vivienne was naked, and her warm, sexy body aroused him. Jacob stroked her skin, then cupped her ass in his hand to pull her closer. She purred like a kitten while fisting his cock.

Jacob massaged her breasts, tweaking her nipples, then let his fingers roam. Dipping between her legs to touch her wetness, Jacob played with her wet slit. Vivienne arched against him, and he slipped his cock into her. She was so soft and hot.

When Vivienne pulsed over him, Jacob moaned softly into her hair. She made little sounds in her throat as she came, stiffening in his arms. He released into her, long and hard. In the dark bedroom, he held Vivienne close until she fell asleep again.

The next morning, Jacob let her sleep in. He had been up for a while when Colette arrived to make a Sunday breakfast. While the cook worked in the kitchen, he sat on the terrace, looking out at the view and thinking about the party.

Parties given by the wealthy were familiar to him. Jacob recalled one where a popular musical group had been paid a fortune for a private performance. Often celebrities attended, and an invitation became a sign of status. There were squabbles over who was invited and who wasn’t.

With the celebrities came the paparazzi, avoided by all but those seeking notoriety. Many parties he’d attended were written up in the entertainment pages and splashed across social media. That wasn’t Jacob’s style. He’d only attended such parties at his parents’ insistence, if the event was hosted by a friend, or if the host was a business connection.

Jacob wasn’t the type to hobnob, or depend on social status to open doors in business. Yet sometimes he’d attended such parties anyway. If the person was an associate or friend, it was a sticky matter to decline the invitation, although he had been known to do so.

In the planning stages of Vivienne’s birthday party, he had gone over all the options. His yacht could stage quite a party, and hold a decent-sized group. Meg had suggested fireworks out over the water, if he went that way. But the boat venue was so flashy.

For Vivienne, he would have done it. Yet after much consideration, Jacob decided she would prefer something more intimate, and by her reaction to the party, he’d been right. She was one of the few women he’d known who wasn’t after his money. She refused gifts unless she couldn’t get out of accepting, and was very gracious about the fringe benefits that came with dating a billionaire.

Any list of Vivienne’s good qualities would be quite long. Her unpretentious demeanor was among them, along with her kindness and caring for others. Although Jacob had acquired money, he didn’t feel it had changed him in any basic way. He’d known both lifestyles, and was well aware that wealth didn’t make the man. It did have its benefits, though.

When it came to Vivienne’s birthday gift, he had gone all out. If she knew what it cost, she might give it back, but he had no intention of telling her. The lovely trinket was insured, and it was all hers. Jacob was friends with a well-known jeweler who had retired. Since he’d admired the man’s work, he had commissioned him to create the unique bracelet for Vivienne.

The diamond watch bracelet, purchased in Barcelona, looked so good on Vivienne’s wrist that Jacob decided she should have another bracelet. This one was three strands of natural pearls, with round-cut diamonds set in between. The sparkle of the diamonds nestled between the iridescent pearls created quite an effect. When Jacob saw it on Vivienne’s wrist, he was pleased with his choice. There was no other bracelet in the world exactly like it; he’d had it designed just for her.

Jacob looked out at the brilliant city below, gleaming in the summer light, while enjoying the aromas from the kitchen. Vivienne still slept, so he poured another cup of coffee and put his feet up on the ottoman. Leaning his head against the headrest, Jacob reflected on recent developments in his relationship.

Falling in love was a subject with which he had little experience. Jacob understood love, as he loved his family without question, and close friends, as well. But that was a different type of love. The sort of giddiness that ensured when love struck was beyond him. Other potent emotions and sensations he knew well. But they were ones that originated in the heat of play.

Jacob was at a bit of a loss about what Vivienne would expect of him. Plus, he had his doubts about a one-sided romantic affair. Fortunately, they both craved the playroom activities, which provided a mutual ground. But the whole thing tipped out of balance when he considered Vivienne’s heart. He tried to envision a way to deal with that type of emotion within the framework of control and submission.

Jacob was certain of one thing: now, more than before, his domination of her was vital. He needed to show a sign of strength to reassure Vivienne that he was in charge. Since she might flounder with unsettling emotions, he would take control and provide an anchor in the storm. The security that came from complying with his sexual demands, the safety in submission, would be hers. He would make sure of that.

Vivienne walked out onto the terrace looking showered and fresh. The summer shorts she wore showed off her long legs, and the stretchy top hugged her curves. “Good morning,” she said, then leaned over for a kiss. Her perfume wafted around him, and her hair brushed his cheek.

“You let me sleep so late,” Vivienne said, then went over to pour a cup of coffee. “I’ll be a spoiled brat if you keep this up.”

“I know how to keep you in line.” Jacob’s cock tightened under his shorts, as he imagined just how he would do that.

“I’m still floating on a cloud.” Vivienne gave him a sexy smile. “My party was unbelievable…and you were…”

She stopped mid-sentence, but he got the idea. Heat filled his veins, making him anxious to have her again. “You were very sexy in your sleep.”

“I wasn’t sleeping
then
.” Vivienne looked up when the cook came out. “Good to see you, Colette.”

“Good to see you too, Vivie.” Turning to Jacob, she said, “Would you like me to serve breakfast at the table, or bring it out here, sir?”

Jacob deferred to Vivienne, who opted to eat at the table. “You’ve gone to all this trouble. I’d rather eat at a proper table.”

Breakfast was a gourmet delight. When they were seated, Colette brought in the plates of hot food. With a glance at Vivienne, she said, “I wanted to make something a little fancy, but caviar for breakfast doesn’t work.” The cook smiled. “This elegant dish is truffled egg toast.”

Vivienne looked at the perfect egg atop the other ingredients.

“It’s an egg with parmesan and truffle oil on a crispy buttered baguette. I hope you enjoy it.” The cook smiled at her, and went back to the kitchen.

The heady aroma of butter and truffles with toasted bread filled the room. “When you break into the warm yolk, it oozes down over the buttered toast and mixes with the truffle oil,” Jacob said.

Vivienne cut into her egg, letting it flow over the toast, then cut off a piece. Jacob watched her expression as she savored a bite. “Mmm, it is delicious,” she said, then giggled. “It makes you feel like everything is right with the world.”

Jacob certainly hoped that was true. He dug into his own breakfast, thoroughly enjoying it. Next to the egg dish was grilled asparagus and a chunk of melon. While eating, Vivienne talked about the party and how much fun she had. Between bites, she commented on all the thoughtful gifts, and how special it was that her dad had attended.

“Too bad he had to fly right back,” Vivienne said. “But at least he was there. It made it all the more special.”

After Colette cleared the plates, she returned to see if they needed anything else. “Not me,” Vivienne said. “That was so good.”

“Will you require my services for lunch or dinner?” Colette said to Jacob.

“I think we’ll go out, so feel free to leave for today once you clean up. I’ll see you tomorrow.” The cook nodded and returned to the kitchen.

Jacob drank in the sight of Vivienne across from him. She was so feminine and utterly beautiful. He thought of her naked and kneeling, and the image stirred his arousal. He had something in mind, and wasn’t in a mood to wait.

Looking into Vivienne’s green eyes, he said, “I have something I want to do with you, baby. Go up to the playroom now and wait for me.”

The lust that filled her eyes made Jacob’s pants tighten, and he couldn’t wait to strip them off. Vivienne stood up, holding his gaze. As she walked by, she slowed as if she might reach for him. But she didn’t. Jacob’s blood heated in his veins, and he couldn’t wait to play out the scene he had planned.

After allowing a few minutes for each of them to get ready, Jacob went to the playroom. The recessed lights were on, providing low illumination. He put a bucket filled with ice on a table next to some towels. Then he got several colorful candles out of the cupboard and placed them around the room, ignoring Vivienne for the moment. The broad candles were in brightly colored glass bases, and when he lit them, a rainbow of colors filled the room. The wax was scented, adding to the effect.

After undressing, Jacob went over to Vivienne, rather liking to see her kneel at his feet. He held out his hand. “Stand up, baby.” When she rose, he said, “Look at me.”

In Vivienne’s eyes, Jacob witnessed desire mixed with a tinge of anxiety. That was fair, as she didn’t know what he wanted of her. “We are going to try wax play, a moderately advanced form of play.” She looked at him, recognition showing in her expression. “We’ve discussed it before, but this will be the first time you’ll experience it.”

Vivienne’s eyes widened, but she didn’t speak, as he hadn’t given her permission. “I will guide you,” Jacob said. “For this scene, you may talk. I will need for you to let me know how you tolerate the hot wax.”

Vivienne looked so sexy, standing there waiting. Jacob was excited to embark upon this new level of play, and the idea of the melting wax on her delicate skin was arousing. Wax play had to be handled with care, as the inexperienced could easily burn a submissive’s skin.

“You’ve indicated this type of play was a soft limit for you,” Jacob said. “But pain is a powerful aphrodisiac, and I’d like you to feel what this is like. Are you willing to do that?”

“Yes, sir.”

“I have covered the table to protect it from the wax,” Jacob said, knowing to use a non-flammable material, and not one that would melt to the skin under heat like polyester. “Wrap your hair up, so it will stay out of the way.”

Vivienne opened a drawer and found a clip. She wound her long blond hair up on her head and secured it there. Then she looked at him for direction.

“Lie on your back on the table,” Jacob said.

When she was in position, Jacob stood over her. “The wax creates a slight burning sensation to your skin. Since you haven’t done this before, I’ll ease into it.” He had lit special jar candles made from wax that melted at a low temperature, without colors, oils, or scents that would make them too hot.

Vivienne’s nipples were stiff, her lips slightly parted, and her bare skin was lovely. With the candles in the room flickering colored light over her, it created a sensual scene. Jacob put his palm on her vulva, her waxed skin soft under his touch. “I’m going to restrain you,” he said. “It will be much easier for you to relax without worrying about your hands and feet.”

Using the cuffs, Jacob secured her arms along her sides and her ankles to the end of the table. As a safety, the cuffs were quick-release, so in the event of injury or an out-of-control flame, he could rapidly free Vivienne.

“This temperature play will create new sensations for you, but it isn’t about burning the skin.” Jacob could tell that she understood. “You will be nervous about the heat, which is natural. And you’ll feel the sting of pain, a millisecond of scalding heat, but the wax won’t be hot enough to injure your skin. As much as it may feel like it, there will be no lasting burn.”

First, Jacob massaged water-based lotion into Vivienne’s smooth skin. Oil wouldn’t do, as that would be more likely to cook the skin under heat. But the lotion would make wax removal easier later, and he wanted this to go well for her, hoping she’d like it. He took his time, loving the feel of her luscious body under his palms.
