“At five thirty,” Bree reluctantly said.  But Robert, this close to her, always made her feel heady, trapped even, but in a wonderful way.

His blue eyes stared into her brown ones, and his pain was as searing as hers.

“I care about Sylvie,” he said, as he began to unbutton Bree’s jeans.  “She’s Zack’s mother.  I will always care about Sylvie,” he added, as he unzipped her jeans.  “But I love you.”  He pulled her jeans and panties all the way down to her ankles, and then off altogether, and then he pulled her into his arms.  Her legs wrapped around him as he held her, his body pressed hard against her now bare womanhood.  Then his lips pressed lightly and then roughly onto hers as he began kissing her in circular, lovemaking-in-and-of -itself kissing that made her feel immediately drunk by the fantastic taste of him, and she wrapped her arms around him, too.

When they stopped kissing, tears appeared in her eyes.  They leaned forehead to forehead against each other as he removed his jersey from over his head and began unbuttoning her blouse.

“You shouldn’t have let her sit on your lap,” Bree admonished.

“I know, sweetheart.  I hadn’t seen her in a long time and it just happened.”

“You rubbed her hair.  You were remembering her.  Weren’t you?”

Robert stopped unbuttoning and looked at Bree.  “I don’t love her that way, Brianna.  I care deeply about her.  But I am not in love with her.  And I wouldn’t trust her as far as I can blow her away from me.”

       Bree smiled.  “She’s very beautiful.”

Robert began unbuttoning her blouse again.  “If you go for that sort of thing, yes, she is.”

Bree playfully hit him upside his head.  “You went for that sort of thing for over a decade, buddy, don’t forget that.”

“Yes, I did,” Robert said, opening her blouse and lifting up
  her
bra.  “Then a decade later I met you and realized the error of my ways.”

Bree smiled.  But as Robert stared at her now exposed breasts, her smile began to leave.
The way he stared at her, and the fact that they had not had sex in over two months, since his accident, removed all levity.
This was sensual business now.  Because Robert’s look made Bree’s body began to tremble, made her want him inside of her this very instant.

But Robert didn’t roll like that.  No way was he going to see this wonderful body and not possess every inch of it.  He kissed her
breasts,
he always had to start there, his mouth teasing her nipples.  But that wasn’t what he was craving.  He moved down her body, slowly and sensually, until he arrived at his destination.  And he ate it up, kissing all around it and then licking her with expert licks.  He loved the scent of her, the beauty of being with her, that he kissed and licked and sucked her so long, and then longer and longer, getting rougher and rougher until she was wiggling her body to break free, and not to break free, in a tug of war that made her feel more desirable than even the most desirable of supermodels could have felt.  Right here and right now Robert wanted her above any other woman, and she could feel his want.

He could feel it too, as his mouth seemed seared onto her pussy, as she splattered her wetness all over his mouth and made him so hungry for her that he thought he’d lose it if he didn’t get inside of her and get inside of her right away.

He removed his shorts, pulled her further on the bed, and got inside of her, sliding his massive rod into her with a purpose that seemed beyond
carnal
.  He loved this woman and wanted to show it.  And he did, as he entered her, as he wrapped her in his arms and gyrated all over her.

Outside, on the porch, Zack was leaned against the rail while his mother angrily paced the floor.

“Marry her?” she said.  “Is he out of his mind?  Marry her.  He’s known me for over twenty years and never once had he asked me to marry him.
Never once.
Now he was considering making her his bride?
Her
?

Some nigger witch from
Mississippi
?
  Are you fucking kidding me?”

“He loves her, Ma,” Zack said but his mother rounded on him with a look that melted his eyes.

       “You shut up!
Dropped out of school again.”

“To help Dad.”

“Your Dad doesn’t need your help.
Doesn’t need mine either.
He’s got his African queen now, his Mississippi southern belle now.  He doesn’t need either one of us.”  Then she stopped pacing, her arms folded.  “How could he, Zack?  He wants to marry
her
?  Why didn’t he do this when I was in the bloom of my years?  Why didn’t he marry some young, beautiful girl when I was still young and beautiful too?”

“You are still beautiful,” Zack said.

“But I’m not young anymore.  And I never will be.”  Then she dismissed the sentiment, became hard again.
Began pacing again.
“And a nigger to boot,” she said.  “And not a rich, sophisticated one, oh no, that would be too understandable.  But to go and dredge up some poor bitch who wouldn’t know the Sorbonne in Paris from a rib joint in Jersey?  That father of yours, I declare.  He’s always had a mind of his own and man is he using it now.
But to upstage me?
Nobody upstages me,” Sylvia said with certainty and then hesitated.  And before Zack knew anything she was moving fast for the screen door, and then moving even faster into the house.

She first tried the kitchen for some reason, and then, realizing the witch did mention packing, headed for the master bedroom of a home she knew so well.  When she made her way down the long hall to the bedroom at the end of it, she was disappointed to see that the door was closed.  But she heard the noise before she even made it all the way up to the door.

They were fucking, pure and simple.  Sylvia knew it when she heard it.  There was the bed shaking and the moaning.  She remembered how wonderful Robert used to feel inside of her, how even after they had broken up she would travel many miles back to Chicago just for him to fuck her again.  And she did this repeatedly and did it for years after.  No man, not to this day, had ever made her feel the way that big, thick iron rod of Robert’s made her feel.  And she was ready to sling open that bedroom door and put an end to Brianna achieving that feeling.

But then she heard an oddity.  Robert started moaning too.  In all of her previous years with him, he never used to make a sound.  He, in fact, seemed to take some twisted pleasure, some twisted sense of power in hearing her make all of the noise.  But now he was moaning and groaning as if this woman was in control, not him, as if she had the power.  And this little oddity stopped Sylvia in her tracks.  Was it true, she
wondered.
Had Robert Colgate, Mr. Confirmed Bachelor, actually and truly fallen head over heels?
Robert
?  Her heart fell through her shoe.

The meeting wasn’t held at Colgate and Associates, but at Alan DeFrame’s new home, Lawrence and Lowe law firm, in the Chicago suburbs.  Bree and Lee Clayton were escorted to the conference room where they found themselves waiting for far longer than the respectable few minutes.
Which didn’t surprise Bree in the least.
She was yet to meet a man
more tackier
than Alan DeFrame.

Besides her mind was back in Wyoming.
  She stood at the window
  in
the conference room, overlooking a dreary Chicago morning, and remembered how passionately Robert made love to her before she left.  And afterwards, while he was still lingering inside of her, while he was still lying on top of her, he looked at her with such a loving expression that it still gave her goose bumps.

“You’re my lady, Brianna,” he had said.  “There’s no other woman anywhere on the face of this earth that I want, or need, more than you.  You’re my lady.
You.
And don’t you ever forget that, you understand me?”

Bree could do nothing but lay there and nod, her heart filled with love for him, her eyes fighting back tears as he continued to stare deep into them.  And, remarkable, given his weakened state, his manhood began to expand once more, and his gyrating slowly, but surely, began again.

“But Robert,” Bree said with a smile, “you’ll overexert yourself if we do it again.”

Robert smiled too, kissed her on the forehead.  “Oh, my sweet thing,” he said, his movements increasing, “
there’s
no way making love to you could ever be an overexertion.  Just relax,” he said as he
laid
further down on her, holding her tightly against him, his penis moving in and out with such a sensual slide that it started making her drowsy.  “Relax and let me enjoy every solitary inch of you again.”

“Bree,” Lee Clayton said, apparently for the second time, and Bree quickly turned from her daydreams at the large window.  Alan and Deidra Dentry were sitting at the conference table.  “They’re ready,” Lee proclaimed.

Bree hurried to the table and sat, once again, beside Lee.  She opened a large file she had in front of her.

“First of all,” Alan said, pushing his glasses on his face, looking as smug as Bree remembered him, “
we
are not interested in any settlement offer.”  Bree glanced at Deidra.  She was smiling, enjoying her newfound fame as the accuser of a powerhouse like Robert Colgate.  “We feel we have the kind of evidence, the kind of case that must have its day in court.”

“Oh, really now,” Bree said.  “And what evidence is that?  All we’ve heard so far is her word against Mr. Colgate’s.”

“And that’s all I’ll need, believe that,” Deidra said.  “No jury of my peers is going to disbelieve anything I say.”

“It’s actually a jury of Mr. Colgate’s peers that will be trying to case, but that’s neither here or there.  That simply goes to your incompetence as an attorney, not to this matter before us.”

“You bitch!” Deidra fumed.  “How dare you call me
incompetent!

       Alan
pat
Deidra on the hand.  It did work to calm her back down.

“Here’s the deal,” Bree said, uninterested in spending any more time with those two than was necessary.  “You either drop this lawsuit or we will go public.”

Deidra frowned.  “Go public?  It’s already public, you idiot!”

“What are you referencing, Bree?” Alan asked her.

“If you, Deidra, decide to continue this charade of yours--”

“It’s not a charade!  He did harass me!”

“Yeah, right,” Bree said, “you give it up to Alan, you give it up to Bret Drysdale,
you
give it up to anybody and everybody who asked you for some.  But for Mr. Colgate, for the head man himself, he has to harass you to get a piece?  You must take us for fools!”

“Keep talking,” Deidra said, angry, “and I’ll suit you for slander as quick as you can say ‘I’s sorry.’”
