“Yeah, while he was getting himself together, kinda like you and your friend.”

She turned, appearing to mull over his last comment. “How can a woman tell if a man is on the down-low?”

Jeff coughed and spit out his drink. Faye glared across the table at her while handing Jeff her napkin. She didn't appear surprised by the question, more aggravated, or pissed. But not surprised.

“What?” Jeff asked looking at her and then him.

“She said how can you tell— ” Kurt said.

“I heard what she said man, why is she?” Jeff looked at her. “Why are you asking us about down-low? Do you know what that means?” he whispered.

Faye bowed her head.

“Yes.” Lena returned Jeff's glare. “Obviously, I’m asking because I want to know. How can I tell if a man has a male friend whom he gets benefits from? A down-low man. Do you know?” She looked at Jeff and then him. Her eyes sent a challenge that had nothing to do with the amount of alcohol she'd drunk.

“No,” Kurt said slowly, watching her. “I don't know anyone on the down-low.” He smiled, more teeth than anything else. If she’d known him better, she would’ve realized the challenge she’d just made to his manhood. It took everything to another level. “Do you think I'm on the down-low?" he murmured.

Lena shrugged and took a sip of her drink.

Faye jumped up, dragging a surprised Jeff to the dance floor.

Kurt moved closer, crowding her. He didn’t know what happened in her past to make her question his motives or sexuality. None of that mattered now. He planned to fuck her before the end of the night. Getting into a heated discussion about something he couldn't prove didn't mesh with his plans for tonight. They'd discuss it later. His lips grazed her forehead.

“You smell delicious. I want to taste you.” His eyes turned serious. “I know you're not ready for a full-fledged relationship right now with the divorce pending.” He waited a beat, hoping she’d correct him. She didn’t. That was a good thing, right? He pushed away the contradictory thought.

His finger touched her bottom lip, appreciating the shiver that went through her. “No games, no lies, no one else.”

Her eyes widened. “I'm not ready to commit to you like that,” she protested, her voice shaky as she pulled away. “I'm not going to promise not to date other men.”

He chuckled. “Can't blame a man for trying.” He'd just make sure she had no energy for anyone else. As far as he was concerned, Lena Pace was his until he was ready to move on. He'd give her the space she asked for, but he knew she wasn't the fooling around type.

“Spend time with me, okay?” He waited for her agreement.

“Just dating?” She looked at him, eyes wary.

Kurt bent forward and spoke into her ear. “I want to make love with you as well as go out to breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or take in a movie.” He didn't back down; she needed to understand he wasn't going to play that game. If they spent time together, he'd have her on her back, knees, or stomach so fast, she'd forget her name.

“You only want to have sex with me?” Her nose scrunched as she gazed at him.

“That and more.” He nodded. “Don't you want to have sex with me?” He waited to see if she'd be honest.

“Maybe,” she whispered. He moved closer and kissed her, groaning at her sweet taste. Her lips were soft and juicy. He nibbled before wrestling with her tongue again.

“Hmmmm,” she murmured. Her small noises excited him.

“How long?”

“Huh?” she asked dazed.

“How long do we stay here?” He kissed her again before she answered, spending extra time on her upper lip, teasing it with his teeth.

“A little longer. Do you work in the morning?”

He grinned. “Why? Got something wickedly wild in mind?” She looked down. He chuckled, tilted her face upward by placing a finger beneath her chin. “Nope, I'm the boss remember? I may go in later, but my morning's free.”

She laughed and tugged his hair. They sat forehead to forehead talking.

“Hi, Kurt.” The strident voice had them moving apart. Kurt glared, and Lena looked quizzically at the woman he least wanted to see. He squeezed her hand and returned his gaze to her.

“Baby, this is the ex factor I told you about the other day.” He made a face and tickled her palm. Lena smiled.

“What the hell is so funny?” Cheryl's face reddened as they ignored her.

“I told you, didn't I?” Kurt leaned forward and kissed Lena’s cheek. He could tell she was becoming uncomfortable. “Go away, Cheryl. Find your husband and leave me alone.” His tone and demeanor changed when he glanced at his ex-wife. Jeff and Faye walked up behind the woman. Cheryl moved further back as they retook their seats.

“Fuck you, Kurt,” Cheryl snarled. Her mottled red face glued to his actions with Lena.

“You wish,” Jeff snickered as she stormed away.

“Your ex?” Faye asked, watching the woman disappear into the crowd.

“Unfortunately.” He glanced at Lena. She smiled wanly at him. “What?”

“I think your ex is worse than mine.”

“Why do you say that?” She was probably right, but he wanted to hear how she processed things. He appreciated the way she allowed him to handle Cheryl without coming unglued.

“Because Elijah will eventually let all this go. When he sees I'm not interested, he'll stop trying to get me back. But that heifer,” she pointed in the direction Cheryl went, “she still sees you as hers. Like a pet or something.”

Faye nodded. Jeff looked at him with an I-told-you-so expression.

“Hmmm.” He didn't want to talk about his or her ex. “Dance with me.” He stood and held his hand to her. She accepted and walked to the floor. Through the deafening noise, he heard Jeff tell Faye. “He's sprung for sure. My boy never dances.”

Chapter 4

Lena squeezed her thighs together to quench the hungry throbbing. The alcohol had worn off long ago, but the big man kept her edgy. Her body hummed with anticipation. It'd been years since she'd made out in public. Kurt kissed her on the dance floor, at the table, and while walking to the exit. His hands stroked everywhere; her arms, thighs, and between her legs. She was on fire and could barely stand.

Despite his agreement to accept her dating other men, he stayed near her all night at the club, staking a claim. Instead of being upset, she was flattered. He was the medicine her bruised heart needed, solid reinforcement of her desirability as a woman. She hadn't realized how much of a hit her
female
ego had taken from her husband’s infidelity.

Light jazz played from the back of the car. Her fingers were threaded through his, every once in a while he'd squeeze. They pulled into his driveway and got out.

The moment the heavy door closed behind them, he pulled her into his arms and latched onto her mouth. Her senses spiraled as she let go, releasing her need to find fulfillment. Lifting her from the floor with passionate kisses, he took her breath and returned it to her. Shuddering in response, she held onto his shoulders, her haven in the midst of her tumultuous storm. Tender lips licked their way down her sensitive throat, sucking between her neck and shoulder. Her legs buckled. His arms tightened around her waist keeping her safe.

“Ooooo,” she moaned as he squeezed her ass and rubbed her pelvis against his hardness. She gasped at the hard length beneath his pants. Long and wide, tingles shot between her legs in anticipation of receiving such a treat. Her head landed against his hard chest as her body emerged from hibernation. Heat unfurled in her lower regions, moisture flowed and pooled against her thigh. Needs she hadn't allowed herself to feel in years demanded fulfillment. She hoped he was ready for her.

“Give yourself to me.” His voice ignited sparks of delicious shivers in her belly. Her thong was no match for her wet arousal.

“Yes,” she whispered before he took her lips again. Kurt bent, picked her up, and walked further into the house. Her head rested against his chest. The steadfast cadence of his heart beat in harmony with hers. Hands tight around her waist, he maneuvered them to another part of the house. She barely noticed the rooms they breezed through. Desperate need pulsed through her. It had been so long since she'd felt this incredible heat. She shivered in expectation of tasting him.

He shoved open a door. There was little time to appreciate the warm neutral tones in the masculine room. A massive four-poster bed dominated the room. Large palms caressed her shoulders, easing away her tension.

“Nice.” She slid down his front and moved toward the bed, kicking off one shoe and then the other. Decadent thick carpet caressed the soles of her feet. Mellow jazz saturated the room, stoking her fire higher. Lena smiled. She loved jazz.

With her back to him, she raised her hand and pulled down the corner of her dress slowly, knowing he watched. His breath hitched loudly in the room. Catching the beat, she pulled the other side of the clingy material down, giving him her bare back. With both hands, she shimmied the dress down and over her hips, allowing it to pool on the floor at her feet. Her hips continued to sway. Clothed in her thong, she peeked over her shoulder. He remained rooted in the same spot, his eyes roved over her body until they met. The dark blue flashed before his lids dropped. Jaw clenched, in a panther-like move, he met and towered over her. Common sense told her to run, get out of his way. Her dark nipples pebbled in response to the hunger reflected in his eyes. Goose-bumps flared across her heated flesh. One arm snaked around her waist, pulling her back against his hard erection.

She flinched at its length and tried to move. He pulled her closer, bent his head and spoke next to her ear.

“I love pussy, not cock, and your kitty is calling my name.” His breath teased her lobes before he nibbled and suckled one. His fingers traced her stomach on the path downward. Her body trembled in response to his desire. So raw. It sparked dormant places inside.

“Hmmm.” His mouth did ridiculous things to her libido. She gave in and became malleable in his hands.

“Answer me. I want to hear you agree. I wanna feed your cat. This pussy is mine for tonight.” His voice rumbled. Raw need threaded through his words. The deep timbre penetrated her flesh and seared her core.

“Yes,” she breathed as his hands cupped her heat. One finger stroked the flimsy cloth that barely covered her goods.

“You're soaked.” He stated the obvious and dipped a finger beneath the scrap of material into her dripping canal. Her head dropped backward to his chest. Mewling sounds escaped her mouth as her thighs trembled at the exquisite torture.

“Ummm,” he moaned lapping her juices from his finger. “Tasty. I want more.”

“Take it,” she hissed, too far gone to argue.

He groaned at her words. She turned in his arms, grabbed his face, and latched onto his mouth. Lips shouldn't feel this good. The thought fled as his tongue surged into her mouth. Heat exploded through her system. The man was potent. She couldn't think past the rising tide of emotions he evoked. Strong hands cupped her ass. Her thighs and core humped against his hardness. Tingly feelings shot from her core and swamped her.

“Shit.” His head flopped back. The tendons in his neck stretched taut. Her teeth grazed his nipple, while his hand lifted her thigh. He pulled her heat closer to his mammoth cock. Feeling more confident, she stroked his shaft through his pants. It jumped in her hand.

Pushing back, she unbuttoned and unzipped his jeans. Focused on her task, she felt rather than saw him pull off his shirt. After completing her task, she tugged the rough material downward.

“Hey.” His hands went to the waistband. “I'll do it.” He grinned at her while stepping out of his pants and boxers.

Lena stared at the masculine perfection in front of her. Her fingers tweaked his dusky nipple, enjoying his flinch. Mesmerized by the turgid point, her tongue licked and teased the end before taking it into her mouth. A low keening sound added to the melody in the room. His body trembled beneath her palm. Her hand stroked his erection, reveling in her power as a woman. Like the Phoenix, her pride rose from the ashes of shame and defeat. Holding this strong, virile man in her hand and feeding his pleasure, dissolving the sense of failure that had latched onto her these past few months.

“So good.” His hips flexed with her strokes.

“You like that?” She whispered, dropping lower. It'd been five years since her lips tasted a man. Before her marriage, she had loved giving enjoyment to her man this way. His thighs quivered as her breath hovered over his cock. Gently, her fingertips scraped his sacks before cupping them. “Nice.”

He groaned, but didn't move. With the precision of a surgeon, the tip of her tongue dove into his slit and wiggled a few times before her mouth captured his mushroomed tip. His body jerked.

“Oh shit.” He pushed forward, his hands reached for her head.

“Don't touch me,” she snapped, stopping his motion. “I need to work this.” Her mouth and hand moved in tandem taking more of him each time.

“Stop,” he panted. “I want to cum inside you.” Pulling back, he tried to get her to release him. She wasn't ready to let her tasty treat go and sucked harder to keep him. “Arrgh.” He bent forward and picked her up. His body shuddered as her lips released him with a loud pop.
