Victoria’s finger was now fully lodged in Craig’s ass, and she continued to suck him off. It was too much for him to handle. He grabbed onto a handful of her braids and then grunted as he came in her mouth. Victoria felt the hot, sticky come squirting into the back of her throat. It was a feeling that she never grew tired of. Victoria wondered if actually having sex would feel as good as sucking dick. She wondered if she would ever find a guy worth of taking her virginity.

Craig was taken aback after he came. Victoria pulled herself up onto her feet, smiling as she wiped the spit off her mouth. Craig all of a sudden felt nervous and possibly a little bit shy. He shoved his dick back into his pants and sit up quickly. He didn’t know what to say. He had just let his employers’ daughter suck him off in the shadows of her multimillion dollar mansion. He had known her for too short a time he let this happen. Craig thought that perhaps he wasn’t making the best first impression on this woman. It didn’t even occur to him to judge Victoria for jumping on him so quickly. He realized that she had quite a bit to drink. Regardless, Craig didn’t want to drag this out any longer. He knew he had to get out of there fast.

“Um…I have an early work day tomorrow,” Craig muttered. Victoria was nonplussed. All she wanted to do was get into bed. What she’d done hadn’t quite registered with her, so she didn’t feel any of the awkwardness that Craig did. After all, he had considerably less alcohol than she did.

“Sure. You should probably get out of here before my parents see you,” Victoria replied. She put her pack of cigarettes in her pocket and left one bottle out on the table. Someone would clean it up.

Craig had to admit to himself that he was somewhat relieved she didn’t want any more out of him. He hastily left the property and returned home. Victoria stumbled her way back up to her bedroom where she crawled into bed fully clothed.

Chapter 3

Sunlight seemed particularly painful to Victoria on the day of the garden party. Waking up was the hardest thing in the world. Luckily, a well-versed party girl always has her supplies right on hand. Victoria reached for her nightstand and pulled out her Advil. she dry swallowed it. She was that well practiced at waking up with a hangover. It took a moment to realize why exactly she had woken up in her bed when the last thing she remembered was… blowing her gardener. As the thought entered Victoria’s mind, she was suddenly overcome with humiliation. Ew!

She couldn’t believe she had done that. Victoria was completely humiliated. She rarely jumped into hookup situations at the drop of a hat, but this had happened. All of a sudden, she had been overcome with the need to suck his cock. And she had acted on it. In the light of day, it hardly seems so fun and spontaneous. Victoria felt irresponsible because her self-esteem had hit an all-time low. She knew this wasn’t funny, wasn’t something to be proud of. It was actually pretty gross. She felt incredible self-loathing. Everyone can relate to that one person they’ve hooked up who they absolutely wish they hadn’t touched.

I’ve got to stop being such a slut. Victoria thought to herself. The worst part about it was that she kind of wished that she would run into her gardener again. Double ew! The last thing she wanted was to let him think that they had some kind of “thing” going on. Then she would never be able to get rid of him. Victoria got out of bed and took a hot shower. Between that and the Advil, her headache was starting to clear up. It was around 10 in the morning, and she wanted to get a little bit of breakfast before this garden party. Victoria paged downstairs and had one of the helpers bring her up a plate of eggs and bacon. There was nothing a good, hearty breakfast after a night of binge drinking couldn’t fix. Victoria shot off a couple texts to her besties.

Tiffany had spent the past night with a new girl she was dating. Meanwhile, Rachel had decided to drive down to New York with her side piece. The girls always kept each other updated, but Victoria felt too embarrassed to tell them what she had done with the gardener the night before. That would stay out of the group chat.

Victoria spent a long time getting ready. She put on a bright pink Lilly Pulitzer dress with white Jack Rogers sandals. She looked at herself in the mirror and decided to accessorize her outfits with a plain pink headband to match her dress. She was almost certain that her parents would approve. After spraying herself with some of her signature custom-made perfume, Victoria went downstairs.

The moment Victoria’s father saw her coming down the stairs, his face screwed up in a scowl. Victoria was already used to that. He would go sometimes 5 to 7 days without seeing her, and every time he couldn’t muster up a single kind word to say to her. Before even saying hello or asking how she was, her father moved into controlling parent mode.

“You had better go upstairs and change into something more appropriate. Every inch of your legs are exposed! Where are your stockings?” Harvey Brooker asked.

Victoria was furious, but she maintained a calm demeanor. She couldn’t believe that she was 25 fucking years old and still had put up with this shit.

“I’ll go change, Daddy,” she said.

“Good,” Harvey Brooker responded. Hearing the commotion, June entered the family room. She looked disdainfully at Victoria.

“Victoria, dear. What did I tell you about eating too much yesterday? You’re looking a little thick, dear,” June said.

Victoria couldn’t believe her parents were being such assholes. She did
not
have time for this. She barely even wanted to go to the stupid party. She was about to turn around and leave so she could change her outfit when her father stopped her.

“Victoria…we are not saying these things to be cruel to you. We want the best for you. We want you to have a nice life where you don’t work too hard. We want to give you everything. All we ask is that you dress appropriately and behave like a good daughter. Soon, you’ll meet a nice man and you can marry him,” Harvey said, flashing his daughter a big smile. Victoria wondered what on earth he thought her reaction would be.

“I think I’ll go change, Daddy,” Victoria replied. She turned away and left the room. She knew if she stayed there for a moment longer she would be at risk of snapping.

What is wrong with my parents?
Victoria thought to herself as she entered her bedroom to change her clothing. She had put together this entire look and instead of encouraging her, they had simply torn her down.
It’s no wonder I’m not independent
, she thought to herself. How on earth could she be expected to have any self-esteem when they treated her like this? Victoria pulled on her stockings and then changed into a navy blue J.Crew dress that hit below her knees. For a bit of sass, she left on her pink headband.

***

The garden party was in full swing. Victoria didn’t have all the details, but apparently her parents were doing a good job raising money to send to Africa to fight Ebola. Victoria thought the whole thing was foolish. Why were her parents complicit in thinking of Africa as just some vast homogenous continent? What part of Africa was this stupid Ebola money going to, anyway? Did they even know? Whether or not they knew, they had raised well over $2 million already. It was packed. People had flown in on private jets from New York City, from Montréal, and from Arlington, Virginia. Apparently it was a big deal. Victoria understood where she got her socialite tendencies from.

Victoria mingled and tried to stay closer to the hors d’oeuvres than her parents. Of course she would occasionally have to fake smile and make conversation with one of her daddy’s wealthy cronies. They were all so fascinated with her. The complimented her beauty and her grace. Victoria wondered what any of them would think if they knew what she had been doing the night before.
Not so graceful now, I bet,
Victoria thought to herself. Not only was Victoria essentially trapped at this party, she kept running into old white women who knew her from her childhood. “Dear Vicki!” they would all scream. Victoria hated that silly childish nickname. She wanted to get out of there fast.

But Victoria wasn’t quite brave enough to bail on her parents’ party, so she stuck around for a while longer. Everyone was so fake. Couples that were on the brink of divorce were pretending to be happily in love. Couples who had gone bankrupt in 2009 were dressed to the nines. Everyone there was just fake, fake, fake. Victoria had spent her whole life immersed in this culture, and she absolutely hated it. But then again, in the eyes of her parents, she seemed to hate everything.

Victoria was trying to drown out all the noise when all of a sudden, she tuned into a conversation that was happening right behind her. Two older white people were whispering about her family. She heard the name Harvey Brooker so she knew that she wasn’t mistaken. Victoria tried to listen in more closely but as soon as she did, she regretted it.

“Harvey Brooker…Heh. He may have money but he’s just a dumb old nigger,” the man said.

Victoria felt her stomach turn. She couldn’t be here any longer. She fled as fast as she could to the other side of the house.
I’ll just wait out back for a while
, she thought to herself. This was absolutely terrible. Victoria had certainly faced her fair share of racism, being a dark-skinned woman in an all-white world, but hearing someone insult her family and call them a racial slur at their very own party was more than what Victoria could handle. Luckily, she had a trusty pack of cigarettes in her pocket. She couldn’t believe that people still thought that way. She couldn’t believe that some people could still be filled with that much hate. Her parents had worked their asses off to get this much money but there were still people who would see them as…Victoria couldn’t even
think
of the word.  Even when singing along to rap music it left a bad taste in her mouth, and this time was no different.

She sat on the stairs of her back porch and pulled out a single cigarette. As she fondled the cancer stick in her hand, she thought about what Craig told her the night before. She didn’t give a damn if he thought smoking was unladylike, but maybe he had a point…The cigarettes would kill her. All of a sudden, Victoria found herself unable to light the Marlboro she was holding in her hand. She took the cigarette and the rest of the pack out of her pocket and chucked them as far away from her she could throw.

The cigarette landed a couple feet away from Craig, who was walking in her direction. He looked down to the ground and then back up at Victoria. As she noticed him, she felt her body seizing up. Really? Did she have to run into him now? Not only had she given him a blowjob the night before that she completely regretted, but he was just another white person. Craig was probably just as racist as the stupid, fake people at her parents’ party. She did not want to see him right now.

Before Craig could open his mouth again, Victoria stopped him.

“If you think I’m going to blow you again, you’re mistaken,” Victoria said, pouting. She couldn’t figure out why Craig always seemed amused by her anger, but he was yet again.

“I didn’t think that at all,” Craig replied. Did he always have to have a slick answer for everything?

“Good. It was a one-time thing and I don’t want you getting any ideas, or worse, telling my parents,” Victoria said. Her tone of voice told Craig that there was something more going on here. Sure, she probably wanted to put her foot down, but Victoria also carried a certain sadness about her that he couldn’t help but notice.

“I won’t tell anyone a damned thing,” Craig assured her.

“Good,” Victoria said definitively.

“Tell me why you’re upset,” Craig demanded. He didn’t want to phrase it as a question and give Victoria any wiggle room to avoid answering.

Victoria looked at Craig and considered whether or not she should tell him what had just happened and how she was feeling in general about her parents. If he didn’t expect anything from her, what could be the harm in opening up? It wasn’t like he knew anyone in her circle, so there was really no harm in telling him a damn thing. Plus, Victoria thought he was kind of cute. Talking to a cute guy was certainly a better deal than hanging out with a bunch of racist rich people. Craig was at least 6 feet tall. He had a broad, toned upper body with even more toned legs. He was wearing one of those ripped up white tank tops and denim. He looked like a contemporary James Dean. His hair was the color of dark chocolate, and his skin was a deep tan from spending so much time working out in the sun. He was covered in a constant thin layer of sweat, which would have been gross if it didn’t highlight his rippling muscles.

Victoria couldn’t help but feel that opening up to him wasn’t a bad idea. And it wasn’t just because of his looks. There was something about Craig that she felt drawn to. Was it the fact that talking to him was an act of rebellion in and of itself? Perhaps. But Victoria thought that it was the soft and caring look in his eyes. He was strong and masculine in his physique, but he still had a gentle personality and a soft aura about him.

“It’s kind of a long story. It’s a bunch of different things, I suppose,” Victoria said, looking down.

Craig wasn’t going to let her get away that easily. “Want to elaborate?” he probed. Victoria caved in.

“Well…As you know, my parents are throwing this huge garden party. I was wandering around looking for some of that giant shrimp when I overheard a couple of the guests talking. Not a big deal, you might think, except one of them was talking about my father. I listened in a little more closely and then I heard them calling my father a nigger,” Victoria said.

Craig certainly hadn’t expected that. He remained quiet in hopes that Victoria would open up a little bit more.

“You probably never think about this stuff because…You know…But for me, I think about it all the time. No matter what we do, no matter how much money my parents have, we’ll always be niggers to these people,” Victoria finished. She felt tears welling up in her eyes.

Craig didn’t know what else to do, so he pulled her close and gave her a hug.
