Chapter 18

The next day Jasmine, Jared, and Donte touched down in Oakland. They were only staying for the weekend and it was all business on Jared and Donte’s part. Jasmine was only there to keep Kaylen’s company when the men were handling business. Jared and Donte were familiar with Oakland by now since visiting countless times. They were in a car heading to Ice’s house.

Kaylen was in the kitchen cooking a big breakfast since she knew Jared, Donte, and Jasmine were on their way. She woke up this morning very blissful. Ice came into the kitchen and kissed her on the neck while she stirred a pot.

“Good morning baby,” he whispered in her ear.

“Morning babe,” she responded back.

Kaylen was already dressed to hit the streets. She wanted to get familiar with the city. Since the men had something to take care of today Kaylen and Jasmine were going to take one of the cars and drive around.

“So you think you’re good for today to be yourself?” Ice asked.

“Yeah I’ll be fine I have Jasmine with me and my GPS.”

“I’ma keep my phone on today if you need me alright?”

“Okay I’m pretty sure I’ll be fine.”

She placed the plates at the table. Jasmine, Jared, and Donte finally made it. They all greeted each other and went into the dining room to eat breakfast. The guys had one thing on their mind, money. The girls only wanted to shop and spend some money.

“Alright we gotta get outta here,” Ice said standing up from the table and leaning down to kiss Kaylen.

“Alright,” she said.

“I left you some money upstairs on the bed behave yourself today,” he said knowing how Kaylen was.

“I will.”

Ice, Jared, and Donte took off to go handle business. Kaylen never questioned Ice about his dealings with her brothers because she knew they were out making big moves. All she could do was pray that they stayed safe each and every day.

“Ice has a nice house,” Jasmine said as she carried the dishes in the kitchen.

“It is a nice house and the bed feels good too,” she twerked with her tongue out.

“You little hoe,” Jasmine laughed.

“So what are we gonna do while they’re gone?” Kaylen asked.

“I don’t know I was wondering the same thing.”

“Well Ice said there’s a big mall somewhere that’s not too far away. I don’t know any place like Rodeo Drive down here.”

“You know I love Rodeo Drive,” Jasmine said.

They cleaned back up the kitchen before they touched their selves up and left. Ice had showed her where he kept all of his car keys and told her to take any one of them and you know that Kaylen had fun with that. Her and Jasmine couldn’t decide which car to use because he had so many. When they finally settled on a car key they walked outside to the garage, which was like a car showroom. Ice literally had so many expensive cars to end starvation.

“Damn,” both Jasmine and Kaylen said at the same time.

She didn’t know which car key she had for which car. She beeped the alarm to the car and it was a 2015 Maybach. She couldn’t wait to ride around in his beautiful car. They both hopped in the car and drove off to the direction of what the GPS was giving them. They went to a mall that was close by Ice’s house. They wanted to shop a little and kill time. Inside of the mall had upscale stores like Gucci, Prada, Chanel, and Fendi. It was like Rodeo Drive in a mall.

“How are things going between you two love birds?” Jasmine asked Kaylen.

“We’re doing just fine I can’t have enough of him yet.”

“He can’t get enough of you either and guess what? Not every one wants to see that!” Jasmine said making Kaylen blush.

“Get off of us,” she laughed.

“He makes you happy and we could all see that. We haven’t seen you smile so much yet.”

“I know that’s crazy. He really loves me.”

“Ice does love you,” Jasmine said not knowing they were being followed throughout the mall.

Natasha and Amber were spending time together like they normally do but Amber heard two bitches with her brother’s name in their mouths. Her and Natasha were following them to hear what they were talking about. Natasha didn’t know who they were but they were definitely talking about Ice. She had to admit that they both kept themselves up because they were beautiful women. For a slight second she felt a little envious.

“Ice has a new bitch already?” Amber asked and then it clicked it in Natasha’s head that it was Kaylen in the flesh.

“Yes that’s the bitch I called but I don’t know which one is her.”

“Didn’t she say she wasn’t fucking him? She needs her ass beat because she was lying to you the whole time!” Amber said.

“The bitch sure was lying.”

Amber didn’t like the two bitches she was staring at because they weren’t Natasha. She didn’t want Ice being with anyone because they didn’t know him like Natasha did. Amber was a little messy but she was protective over her family as well so she dragged Natasha with her to the two bitches that were running their mouths.

“Yes Ice is a good man,” Amber said walking up behind them.

“Excuse me?” Kaylen spun around fast hearing Ice’s name in someone’s mouth.

“Who are you?” Amber asked.

“No who the fuck are you?” Jasmine asked not liking Amber’s attitude.

“Ice’s sister and this is Natasha, his girlfriend.”

Kaylen rolled her eyes because they were on some messy shit. She should’ve known that she was going to catch up Natasha sooner or later since she was in Ice’s hometown. Ice didn’t tell her about Natasha and his sister being close. Natasha was a pretty girl and Kaylen wouldn’t downplay it.

“You’re a messy ass bitch. What do you want? To get Kaylen mad? Does she look mad to you? She’s not built like you bitches that gives a fuck,” Jasmine said getting in their faces.

Jasmine was always ready to fight when she felt like she had to. Even though she was soon knocking on thirty she wouldn’t stop handing out fades. She was a natural born protector. She knew Kaylen could handle her own but she wouldn’t leave her by herself.

“Bitch shut the fuck up!” Amber said putting her hand up close to Jasmine’s face and that’s where she messed up.

“Bitch I’m not fucking Ice I can beat yo’ ass! Kaylen tried to keep it cool because you’re his sister but I don’t have to do a motherfucking thing,” Jasmine argued punching Amber straight in her right eye. Her eye had to swell on impact.

Kaylen dropped her bags ass soon as the first punch was thrown. Natasha didn’t do anything yet but Kaylen punched her as well anyways. She should of piped Amber down from talking all of that slick shit anyways. The four of them fought like they were in an alley. Natasha wasn’t a match for Kaylen at all. She couldn’t even hold her own weight. Amber was hanging in there with Jasmine but she was still getting her ass beat.

“Let’s go Jas,” Kaylen said pulling Jasmine off of Amber before they got arrested.

Jasmine pulled out a fresh stack of hundreds from her Chanel quilted bag and made it rain on Amber and Natasha. Jasmine wasn’t the one to fuck with. She held her own at all times.

“Y’all are my bitches,” Jasmine said as she threw the last hundred on them.

“Bitch let’s go,” Kaylen said dragging Jasmine to the car.

Kaylen was mad but in a way she wasn’t. She just didn’t expect his sister to be doing so much when she didn’t even know her. She knew that later it was going to be a feud between her and Ice. She thought about calling Ice and letting him know first but then she thought against it.

“Them bitches don’t know me,” Jasmine said.

“Yes Jasmine we know,” Kaylen said laughing.

Ice was handling business and making moves. He had set up a meeting with a distributor that had really good products. Their meeting went well but the whole time they were there his phone was blowing up from Amber. He was taking care of business so he couldn’t deal with her until after. When their meeting was finished Ice called Amber back when they were walking to his car.

“Wassup Amber?” Ice asked when she picked up the phone.

“Zion when I catch up to your bitch and her friend I’ma beat both of they asses!” Amber screamed into the phone.

“What?” Ice asked taken aback.

Amber ran down the whole story to Ice about what happened leaving out the parts of how she provoked them. Now her right eye was swollen shut. She looked like shit. She was so mad and she was for sure going to be ready next time she saw them. Ice was shocked that he hasn’t even been gone for long and some shit already happened. He still didn’t understand the part of how they knew who each other was.

“Alright Amber I’ma get back to you in a minute I’ll handle it,” Ice said hanging up the phone.

“You good?” Jared asked.

“Man Jasmine and Kaylen were at the mall and my little sister and my ex was there and some fight happened,” Ice said pissed.

As soon as Jared heard Jasmine and Kaylen’s name he called their phones but neither of them answered. They knew they’re ass was in hot water. They sat on the couch in the living room watching television until they came home. They decided to not say anything until Ice mentioned it.

They’re stomachs turned when they heard the door opened. They knew they were about to get in trouble but both of their prides were in the way. Kaylen felt like she didn’t do shit it was his sister who started it.

“What the fuck happened?” Ice asked walking into the living room.

“What are you talking about?” Kaylen said playing stupid.

“Don’t play stupid Kaylen,” Jared said.

“Man we didn’t even do anything. Look at us we’re fine,” Jasmine smiled.

Jared snatched Jasmine up from the couch and took her outside to talk to her. He thought he told her countless times to stop fighting. He didn’t need his wife out in the streets fighting with bitches that couldn’t even compare to her.

“We gotta talk,” Jared said pointing at Kaylen showing how serious he was.

“It wasn’t even our fault Ice I swear it wasn’t,” Kaylen pleaded.

She ran down the whole story to Ice and Donte. She didn’t leave anything out because she didn’t have a reason to lie. It truly wasn’t their fault this time. They were cool and calm until Amber started to get loud so she got what she deserved.

“You and my sister can’t be fighting Kaylen!” Ice yelled.

“First of all I didn’t beat her ass Jasmine did. I tried to stay cool because she was your sister but that didn’t mean she wanted to be cool with us. Sister or not I wasn’t going to let anyone disrespect me and get away with it.”

Ice was pissed about the fight but he did know how Amber got down. Amber had a loud mouth and she never held anything back even if it was to save her life. He already came to the conclusion that it was Amber’s fault that she got her ass beat. He told her so many times to stop that messy shit and she was going to learn one day.

Chapter 19

Ice was left with his family taking sides. His mom already heard about what happened with Amber and she already wasn’t too fond of Kaylen. Ice thought it was unfair that they all judged Kaylen straight out of the gate because they wanted her to be Natasha. Kaylen didn’t really give a fuck if you asked her. She wasn’t worried about it because at the end of the day they never gave her a chance.

“I’m his woman and they can’t change that,” Kaylen said to Jasmine.

“Yes you’re his woman but she’s his mom and you know how that goes.”

“He’s a grown ass man and if he can’t defend me to his mama and sister then he doesn’t need to be with me. None of them know me at all and they already have a lot of shit to say.”

“I swear when Lil’ Jay and Justin have girlfriends I’ma stay out of their business. That shit is too messy.”

Kaylen shrugged it off because she didn’t care. Ice was at his mom’s house trying to straighten everything out. If anyone other than Ice knows Amber it should be their mom to know that she’s always starting shit. Amber sat on the kitchen countertop embarrassed by her blackened eye.

“Look at her Zion!” his mother yelled referring to her eye.

“Amber tell mama what you were doing to get that black eye,” Ice said. Amber flipped him the middle finger.

“Zion I don’t care! I don’t want you bringing that kind of filth to my house,” she said.

“It’s real messed up that I can’t even be with who I wanna be with because y’all taking sides with Natasha. I’m your son not her! Y’all ain’t even gotta worry about Kaylen I’ma for sure keep her away,” Ice stormed out of the house.

He didn’t like how his mom was taking sides. He wished she could get to know Kaylen like how he knows her then maybe she’ll love her too. It was like Natasha still had a hold over him no matter how long it has been. Ice was done with his situation with his family. He was going to stay away and let them be since they couldn’t accept Kaylen. He wasn’t going to let her go over a fight with his sister.

Ice went home to talk with Kaylen. He knew she was feeling a little bad about it even though she wouldn’t admit to it. He did all he could do to fix it. When he pulled up in front of the house he walked into the kitchen smelling the aroma of yams.

“What y’all cooking?” he asked watching Jasmine and Kaylen cook.

“You’ll see when you eat it,” Kaylen said.

“Aye come here let me talk to you for a minute,” Ice said pulling her upstairs to talk.

When they got into the bedroom Kaylen quietly sat on his bed. She didn’t know what to really say at the moment. Last night they had an awkward night and she could tell that the fight with Amber put a strain on their relationship.

“I went over to my mom’s house and she wasn’t having it but I don’t care. They don’t even know you like that to begin with. They’re just very protective over Natasha and always wanted me to be with her,” Ice explained.

“Why didn’t you tell me that from the beginning. I told you your relationship with her was deeper than what you made it seem to be. She is practically your family and they aren’t going to kick her out for me. They’re already judging me and haven’t even met me yet!”

“Are you in a relationship with me or them?” Ice asked but she didn’t answer. “Answer me Kaylen. You don’t wanna be with me anymore?” he asked getting close to her.

“I’m in this with you Ice. Just don’t let it happen again,” she warned him.

“Alright stop being mad with me ‘cause I’m not mad with you,” he pulled her down on the bed and they laid down for a few minutes.

“I just wished that we could all be one big family. You’re close to all of my family and you have a great relationship with my grandma.”

“It’ll happen eventually. It’s just taking them all by shock right now but they see how serious I am about you so don’t worry about it too much alright?”

“Alright,” she said accepting a kiss from him.

Kaylen went back downstairs with Jasmine and finished preparing dinner. They decided to stay in the house for the remainder of the trip. Jasmine and Jared were cool of course. After Jasmine told Jared about what happened he laughed thinking that it was funny. He loved how Jasmine looked out for his sister but at the same time he didn’t want either of them fighting like hood rats.

“Was he mad still?” Jasmine asked.

“No he’s not mad he said his family is though.”

“Oh well that was his messy ass sister’s fault.”

“Forget them they aren’t stopping shit for me.”

“Say that again!” Jasmine praised.

Dinner went by fast. The food was great and it wasn’t an elephant in the room again. Ice let it go and moved on with his relationship. He was trying to enjoy Kaylen before she left to go back home. He appreciated her coming for him though. It sucked that they lived so far away from each other.
