“Well Friday’s was like this, only the bra was lower cut and more lacey, the day of the meeting it looked like this one, only red, and there were garters and stockings.”
A blush crept up her whole body.

On a groan
, he buried his hands in her hair and pulled her in for a kiss.  “Thank god I didn’t know, me and every other man in that room would have been at your mercy.  I’m not sure I could have resisted laying you out on that table and having my wicked, wicked way with you.”

Propping herself up on her elbow
, she pressed him back into the bed, trailing her fingers across his chest, lightly scratching with her nails. “You are wearing entirely too many clothes, I’m feeling underdressed for the occasion.”  Her hand slid down and began to work the belt buckle, working it free and pulling at the button.

He placed his hand over hers and looked into her eyes, “You don’t have to do anything for me
. I’d be happy to crawl under the blanket and hold you close and kiss you senseless until the sun comes up.”

“Dan
?” She placed a kiss over his heart as her hand grabbed the zipper and slid it down slowly, carefully.

“Yes
,” he gasped. Her hand so close, her breath so warm, all rational thought, and all the blood that should have been there had currently left his brain for points south.

Stop talking, I want to, I need to, please…” Each word punctuated by a kiss placed in a line down his chest, towards his abdomen, her tongue flicking out to trace that trail guiding her to heaven.

She eased his jeans over his hips and he eagerly help wrigg
le himself out of them and kicked them towards the pile of discarded clothes, each layer another of her defenses he brought down.  Their collective breath held as she slid her hand into his boxers and wrapped her fingers around his rock hard erection.

A slow hi
ss escaped his lips as she gave a squeeze, and slowly moved her hand up and down his length. Her head level with his waist, she eased him out of his boxers and slid them down his hips. She leaned in closer, her breath warm against his rigid flesh, hanging by a thread, perfectly still, he waited for her to take the next step. Tonight has already been so much more than he imagined and he knew he couldn’t knock down all of her walls in one night.

Leaning closer
, she flicked her tongue across the slit on the head, tasting the salty evidence of his desire for her, feeling emboldened she wrapped her lips around his swollen head and a low slow hiss escaped his lips and he moaned her name, “Oh Cora….”

She slid her lips lower, taking more of him in to her mouth, hungry for him, overwhelmed by the smell of soap, and musk and Daniel, with gentle suction she
took him deeply until he hit the back of her throat, surprising both of them.  He pulled her up suddenly and pinned her on her back kissing her with all the passion he’s every felt packed into this one moment in time.

She surged
towards him and pushed him to his back, never breaking the kiss, her hand sliding back to wrap around his length, stroking him, alternating her speed, her hold, trying to bring him the pleasure he gave her.  His breathing changes, he broke the kiss as his head fell back his face twisted in ecstasy, putting her lips next to his ear she whispered to him on a breath, “Let go for me, Dan. Don’t hold back.”

Her hand, the
words, her warm wet breath, her warm flesh pressed against the length of his body, it was all too much and on a groan he thrust into her hand and exploded on a groan, his hips thrusting, again and again into her hand and he spent himself in wave after wave on her hand, across his belly.

Collapsing, there were stars behind his eyelids
. He was overwhelmed by her. He knew he should say something, do something but right now, none of his synapses were firing properly.

Getting up out
of bed she padded on bare feet to the bathroom, the light flipped on, the water ran and then it was dark again.  She comes back to bed laying back down beside him she peppers him with small kisses, as he slowly comes to life again, though the truth is he can’t recall a time he’s ever felt so alive.

Then he felt
a wet tickle, she’d grabbed face cloth, good thinking actually buying one, she was taking care of him again. As he opened his eyes she had such a brilliant smile, “I think that’s everything.” She winds her tongue around her finger. “Nope I’d missed a spot, but now it’s all clean.”  With a saucy wink, she reaches behind her, drops the cloth on the floor and snuggles up tight to his side.

“Thank you,” a whisper, his shy girl is back.

“Oh no, thank you, I’m pretty sure I saw actual stars there for a moment. I thought I’d had orgasms before, but those were just practice runs for you.”  His hand stroked her hair as he held her close.

As she drifted off to sleep
, sated, he pulled the blankets up over them and pulled her close, kissing her now and again, and thanking too many beers, the internet, his beard and the universe for bringing her to him.  She was it. He felt it to his core, and he’d do what he needed to, to make it happen.

Chapter 21

*buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz buzz*

That was not her alarm, this was not her bed, and she was way warmer than she usually was, no matter how many blankets she piled on.  Oh god, she was in Dan’s bed. They’d fallen asleep. She hadn’t had to do the walk of shame since college.

She peeled her eyes open as the buzzing stopped and she felt him shift.

“Good morning, beautiful.” Pushing her hair out of her face, he gave her a soft kiss.  “I’m sorry I fell asleep, I didn’t mean to.”

“We both fell asleep, no one’s fault, what time is it?”  She went to sit up and remembered she was in her bra and panties and pulled at the blanket to cover herself.

“It’s six, I think the coffee pot just clicked on.” He pulled at the blanket.  “Shy again, sweetness?”

Her blush was a
work of art. He let go of the blanket and let her have her modesty.

Climbing out
of bed he headed to the window; it was snowing when she got here last night and he wondered how much had fallen.  It was a winter wonderland outside. The snow went halfway up her Beetle.  The plow hadn’t hit his street yet.

She picked his shirt up off the floor and buttoned it up as she walked over to the window.  “Oh wow, was it supposed to snow that much?
I was so preoccupied yesterday that I never even checked the weather.  How am I going to get my car out and get to work.”

“I don’t think either of us are going to work
, sweet girl,” Pulling her close, he planted a kiss on the top of her messy red curls.  “Why don’t you use the bathroom to do whatever it is girls need to do in the morning and I’ll check my email to see if we’re opening today and check what else is going on out there.”

She scurried off to the bathroom to do some damage control and pee.  After scrubbing her face clean and using her finger to brush her teeth as best she could
, she grabbed his robe off the back of the door and decided to face the music and do the morning after thing.

Walking down the stairs
, she found him in the kitchen wearing flannel pajama pants, bare chested, Blackberry in one hand, coffee in the other, a smile brighter than the sun when he looked up and saw her coming his way.  “I like the look of you in my house, Red. I certainly do.”  Damn, she took his breath away.

Blushing
, she turned to grab a coffee cup and busied herself preparing a cup. “I like being in your house.”

“Well, the roads are closed, we’re under state of emergency and the offices are closed today
. They’ll decide this afternoon about tomorrow.  So we’ve got the day to ourselves, and we’re stuck here, for a while at least, is that going to be okay?”

“Why wouldn
’t it be okay?  Even if it wasn’t it’s not like Ringo can go anywhere, you’re stuck with me I’m afraid.”  A shy smile brightened her face as she looked up at him. “If I didn’t know better I’d think you planned it so I got stuck here.”

Ringo?”

“Yes, my Beetle, Ringo,” she said before hiding behind her coffee cup again.

“Well, you caught me, I ordered three feet of snow, when we were only expecting six inches so I could trap you in my house and do wicked things to you all day long.” He waggled his eyebrows as he stalked towards her.

Plucking the cup of coffee out of her hands and putting
it down on the counter, he pulled her close and kissed her softly. They were trapped alone all day, they have time for all sorts of things.

“I’m going to build another fire and then we’ll make some breakfast.  I can hunt around and see if I have something for you to wear while we throw your clothes in the washer if you’d like.” Talki
ng over his shoulder as he headed through the dining room on his way to the fireplace, it’s cold down here, a fire is definitely in order.

She opened
the fridge. “I’ll make breakfast if that’s okay with you? You cooked last night, it’s only fair.”

“Just don’t tell my mother that I let you cook while you were a guest, she’d kick my ass
.” A chuckle escaped his lips, kissing her on the top of her head as he passed her on the way to his coffee feels as natural as breathing.  If he had his way they’d be trapped Blizzard of ’78 style for two weeks of close quarters and getting to know you.

“Are you really going to tell your mother you had an overnight guest?  Or just brag to your buddies?”
Opening and closing cabinets, she found the tools she’d needed to make a simple breakfast.  “Eggs and a hash made from leftover steak and potatoes okay with you?”

“What my mother doesn’t know won’t hurt her, and if you keep offering me meals like that I’ll never let you leave
. As for the bragging, I don’t kiss and tell Cora, honest.”  Topping off his coffee, he sat back at the table and watched her in his house.

After breakfast
, Dan headed out to shovel and Cora, at Dan’s insistence, went up to soak in a bath.

After an hour
, he found her on the sofa, her e-reader in hand, curled up under the throw reading.  The day passed in quiet comfort, Cora called Mr. Smith downstairs to ask him to feed Gwennie and checked in with Kaelyn and her mom.  The snow had started to fall again and they settled in for at least another day of being snow-bound.

Chapter 22

That night after
they’d cleaned up dinner and shared some more wine, Cora took Dan by the hand and led him up to the bedroom.

Pulling the tie on the robe
, she’d been wearing all day she let it fall off her shoulders and pool at her feet.

“I don’t want to go slow anymore,
this is kind of our third date, isn’t it?” She looked him straight in the eyes as she said it, her voice strong and even. He didn’t see any fear, or shyness, or reluctance. She was here, and she was his, and tonight he would lay her out, worship every inch of her skin, and make her body sing.

As he laid her out on the bed and then stripped his clothes off
, he took a deep breath, thinking for once, maybe he was more nervous than she was. Last night was easier, it was foreplay the pressure so much lower key, this meant so much more.  He opened the drawer, put a couple of condoms on the bedside table, and then lay down beside her.

“I want to be a little slow, too fast won’t be fun for either of us
, Red.” His hands stroke over her skin, leaving gooseflesh in their wake. Kissing her lips, then her cheeks, her eyes, her neck, working his way lower, laving her nipples, tugging and plucking them with his lips, peppering kisses down her abdomen.  His lips followed his hands down her body until his palm rested over her mound, he pressed and gave a squeeze and he shifted to come between her legs, pressing her thighs open with  his shoulders.  He smiled up at her, ah there was that blush. “You really are a redhead, aren’t you?”

“Dan
,” his name a gasp, and the only coherent thought she had as he lowered his head and spread her open to him with his thumbs.  As the tip of his tongue flicked across the bundle of nerves, her back arched up off the bed.  Teasing, tasting, nibbling, he brought her up, up, up; and then when she was close he’d pull back a little, when her breathing started to level, he’d start all over again. By the fourth time, she was begging in incoherent phrases and sounds and as she came closer and closer to her climax he didn’t stop.  He sucked firmly on her clit at the same time he pressed two fingers deep inside hooking, reaching for that spot inside to drive her wild, and with that she came apart in his arms, under his hands, with his mouth. Her desire nearly drowning him, as he suckled and lapped up her arousal, more drunk on her taste than any wine he’d ever had.  Her noises, her words, feeding him, she would probably be blushing up a storm if she were coherent enough to remember everything she’d said.

As he kissed
his way back up her body, she reached for a condom on the nightstand and placed it in his hand. “Are you sure?” he asks, looking in her eyes.

She pulled him down into a kiss, tasting herself on his lips, as they drew apart she opened the packet and
rolled the condom over his erection.  He took her mouth in a fiery kiss as he settled between her thighs and slid deep into her. Their pleasure at coming together, this first time overwhelmed them both, their kiss broken, their eyes locked as he was seated as deeply as he could be and slowly began to pull back and press forward again.
