Please don’t spoil my view, of the

tears that drip from my heart.

We once were one,  now two

and now that we are through,

I’m off to make a brand new start.

A tainted, shaded hue,  that cloud that

spoiled my view has gave to skies of

electric blue,

And now I stand, one step smart.

The pain inside,  has died to numb.

I agree, I was the one so dumb,

to ever tell you close to my heart.

Epilogue

If I were struck blind and could not see what made me smile,

I would still know it was her.

My ears would hear her voice whisper,

my nose would receive her scent,

my hands would identify he curves,

my lips would seal to hers as they have done so a million
times before.

But, if I could not see her,

or hear her,

or smell her,

-

If I lost my arms to hold her

-

and my tongue to taste her

-

or my skin to feel her perfect presence pressed against what I once was,

Then I am dead.

But, I lived a greater life than many,

being given such a gift that not just any could have had.

And I cherish it unto my soul.
