“Good, huh?” he asked.

“Okay, don’t admit it then. But I know you like it.”

She pulled him down beside her. “I want on top now.”

“My pleasure.” He lay back while she found the condom and rolled it onto his thick erection. Once that was done, she crawled over him, kissing the hard muscles of his chest. She flicked her tongue across both his nipples, then licked down his abs.

His cock jumped, making her crave him.

She mounted him, hovering above him. She positioned his cock and pressed onto it.

“Yeah,” he growled.

But he wasn’t going in. Either he had grown larger, or she had shrunk. “What happened? You’re too big.” And her body was tender.

“You’ve tensed up. Let me do it.” He hugged her to his chest and grasped her hips in his hands, easing up into her. “Relax and let me fuck you,” he breathed.

“Mmm, yes.” She moaned at his words and the way her body ached and opened in response.

“Is that good?”

“Yes.” She raked her teeth across his shoulder. The pleasure-pain of his size stretching her as he again slid home aroused her further.

He thrust his hips, slowly at first, then faster, driving into her.

“Oh, that feels so incredible,” she whispered, hoping he’d never stop. Amazing tingles and shivers spread out through her.

“Yeah, the best.” Embedded deep inside her, he paused and kissed her. “Have you been on top before?”

“No. Am I doing this right?” She rose, bracing her hands against his chest, and wiggled her hips.

“Hell,
yes
, you’re doing it right.”

She allowed him to slide almost out, and then pressed down again.

He moaned. “That’s it, sweetie. Ride me.”

His words sparked the fire of need in her and she obeyed him. The rhythm was natural and hypnotic. He whispered more heated words of encouragement while she rode him long minutes, each thrust better than the last.

Watching her, he growled a curse, licked his thumb and stroked her clit. She almost went limp and her legs trembled with exertion.

“Come on, baby.”

The tingling began and lingered. She strained with the effort of hovering on the brink.

“That’s it. Come for me.”

He thrust his hips upward, and she was lost. She flung herself on top of him, straining to force him deeper still as waves of intensity poured through her. He pumped his hips giving her an orgasm that went on and on. When his own claimed him, he held her so tightly that she could scarcely breathe.

They had to sleep, but later, he awoke her with kisses and stroking caresses. In the dark, he turned her onto her belly, pulled her hips up and entered her from behind. She was so dreamy from sleep and boneless with arousal, an orgasm crashed over her within minutes. He slowed momentarily, allowing her body to adjust, and then continued by measured degrees to bring her again to full arousal. She arched for his forceful thrusts, loving the way his steel-hard shaft demanded more and more, deeper and deeper.

With a wet finger, he stimulated her to the brink of an addictive pleasure. One massive orgasm engulfed them that, to her fevered mind, felt as if their souls had melded. Afterwards, she couldn’t even move, could only flop and let sleep claim her exhausted body.

After what seemed only a moment later, loud knocking and yelling woke her.

Kilted Lover: Chapter 5

Leslie sat bolt upright in bed. Who was yelling and pounding on the door?

Where am I?
She glanced around at the small room and the sleeping muscular male beside her.
Oh, Scott. I did naughty, delicious things with him last night. Several times.
She smiled. A heat wave rushed over her, but she refused to feel guilty.

Bright sunlight streamed through the porthole above the bed and gilded the new growth of beard stubble like antique gold flecks on his strong, square jaw. He was just as beautiful asleep as he was awake—a rough, raw, masculine beauty.

The knocking sounded again. “Scott!” The voice sounded like Paul’s.

“Scott.” She shook him. “Someone’s here.”

His eyes popped open, squinted. “What?”

“I think Paul’s outside.” Feeling like they’d been caught in the act, Leslie pulled the sheet up under her chin.

Scott groaned and sat up. “What time is it?”

“I don’t know.”

He kissed her forehead, rolled out of bed and stood facing her, wonderfully naked. His cock appeared semi-erect, even now. Whew! Did the guy never grow soft?

“Where are my jeans?” he muttered, rubbing his eyes.

“They’re on this side.” She lunged for the faded denims and flung them to him.

“Thanks.”

She didn’t want Paul to guess what they’d done last night. While he put on his jeans, she crammed her arms and head into her T-shirt. Before he could move, she scrambled out of bed and ran for the bathroom, grabbing a pair of shorts along the way.

Scott watched her go, regretfully. Their one night was over.

It couldn’t be.

Yes, it had to be. With morning came the reality that she had a boyfriend. Scott’s conscience pricked him for stealing intimacy from another man’s lady. Scott was just like the bastard Isabel ran off with. That thought almost made him nauseous.

In the galley, he opened the hatch for Paul and squinted against the bright sunlight.

“Man, you’re the laziest SOB I’ve ever seen,” Paul said.

“What time is it?”

“Almost ten.”

“Hell, I never sleep this late.” Scott turned on the lights and ambled past Paul, toward the counter. “I need some caffeine.” He was slightly stiff and sore from the sexual frenzy with Leslie. Or maybe it was the caber tossing.

Paul whistled. “Damn!”

Scott turned. “What?”

His friend’s face showed amazed glee. “Your back is carved up like a side of beef.”

Scott reached around to touch his back. Oh, yeah, he remembered that now, Leslie’s nails digging into his back during an orgasm. It had been worth it. He gave Paul the finger and turned on the coffee maker.

Paul howled with laughter.

Dammit, Scott hadn’t wanted Paul to know. He should’ve put on a shirt.

“Way to go, man,” Paul whispered.

“Don’t say anything to Leslie. You’ll embarrass her.”

“If you don’t want to embarrass her, you should put on a shirt.”

“Shh.”

The bathroom door opened and Leslie stepped out.

“I brought y’all some bagels for breakfast,” Paul said. “Morning, Leslie.”

“Good morning,” she said in a shy tone, a blush spreading over her face. Her lips were swollen and red, her wide eyes luminescent. She looked fulfilled and glowing. Had he done that to her? Pride spread through him along with goofy happiness.

Paul elbowed him and held up a brown bag. “Bagels, caber-man.”

Scott snatched it. “Thanks. You know I’ll repay every penny.”

“No, you won’t. You’ll accept it as a gift, or you’ll find yourself another flunky.”

“Did Murphy check out the bullet holes in my truck yet?”

“Not before I left. I called the Sheriff’s Department but most of the deputies had been sent out on an emergency call.”

“Damn, I wish he’d hurry.” Scott washed his hands and put the blueberry bagels on a plate. “We’ll go back with you this morning.”

“Why?”

“I can’t just hide out here forever. I need to talk to Murphy about setting up some kind of sting where we lure the thieves out and the cops nab them.”

“That’s a great idea.” Leslie stopped beside him.

“But you can’t go.” Scott opened the cream cheese.

“Yes, I can!”

“It’s too dangerous, Les. You’re staying here.”

Fiery Scottish temper gleamed in her eyes. “I refuse to stay here like a wimpy little sniveling violet while you, big Tarzan, go out and fix everything.”

“You’re not being reasonable! I don’t want you to get hurt.”

The hatch closed with a bang.

Paul was gone. A second later, an engine cranked. Scott ran up the steps. When he reached the deck, Paul roared out of the parking lot, burning rubber.

“Bastard!”
I’ll choke him for stranding me here.
He hated being manipulated.

Scott slammed back inside and dialed the Sheriff’s Department number on his cell phone. Murphy wasn’t in, but the dispatcher said she’d relay the message.

“We’re never going to get out of here.”

“Sure, we will.” Leslie spread cream cheese on a bagel half and handed it to him.

“Thanks.” He was almost starved after all the exercise last night.

“I’m sorry about scratching your back.”

“It’s okay.” He’d gladly put up with a little pain in exchange for the incredible pleasure she gave him. But that was over now. Disappointment descended like dark clouds.

“Do you want cream and sugar in your coffee?” she asked.

He noticed the cup of black coffee sitting on the counter and kissed her forehead. “Thank you. I’ll finish it.”

“Don’t trust me, huh?” She slipped her arms around his waist for a hug.

He complied, disturbed by the possessiveness surging through him. Her body fit perfectly against his. She was so warm and soft. “Yes, I trust you. But I don’t want you to wait on me hand and foot.” He reluctantly pulled away and scooped two spoons of sugar and two of creamer into the coffee.

“You’re the first man who doesn’t want that.” A vivid combination of lust and emotion shone in her eyes. “Do you vacuum, too?”

“Vacuum?”

“The floor. That’s what a lot of women find sexy and romantic, a man who cleans.”

“Sure.” Whoa, that sounded domestic.
Don’t even fantasize about it, Scott.

If they were an item, he’d do a lot of romantic things for her, like serving her breakfast in bed.
Having
her for breakfast in bed.

But he couldn’t do that anymore. Their one-night stand was over. Longing replaced the happiness he’d felt last night.

“Can I see your amulet?” Scott asked Leslie when they’d finished their bagels. He sat across the table from her, sipping coffee. She’s spent most of the past fifteen minutes trying not to stare at his drool-worthy physique or get hypnotized by his eyes while she remembered the amazing things she’d experienced with him the night before. How gentle he was, how attentive to her pleasure. He was sweet and tough and hot rolled up into one. He could kiss her with the softest of pressure, or pound himself into her like a battering ram. And she was wild for both.

But I want it to be so much more.
She needed Scott again, even now. She yearned to crawl onto his lap and kiss him ‘til they were breathless and yanking each other’s clothes off. And she hungered for him to look into her eyes like she was the only woman on Earth.

She had to call Fletcher and break up with him. Would that make her a total bitch, ending it on the phone after ten months? Yes, it would. She would have to wait ‘til she saw him again.

“Les?” Scott leaned forward and peered into her eyes. “You okay?”

“Yes.” She blinked away the distraction. “I’m sorry. What?”

“Can I see your amulet?”

“Sure.” She took it off and placed it on the table by his hand.

He picked it up and studied it. “This is a fine peridot. Good color, very little yellow. What does it say around the edge?” He stroked the tip of one finger along the gold setting.

“I don’t know. The carved words are almost worn away but I suspect it’s Gaelic.”

“Yeah. Sure is. Looks like
Tha fios fithich agad
.”

The strange words gave her a chill. “What does that mean?”

“You have a raven’s knowledge.
The ancients believed magical knowledge came from ravens.”

“That’s amazing. I can’t believe you know Gaelic that well.”

“I know a little. I had a class and also spent a year in the Highlands.”

“Wow, a year? I envy you. I want to go to Scotland so badly.”

“So why don’t you?”

“I probably will someday when I save more money. I’ve only recently become interested in Scotland and my ancestry. Plus, I don’t have anyone to go with. None of my friends are into Scotland.” If Fletcher went he’d spend the whole time on one golf course or another.

Scott observed her for a long moment. What was he thinking? Would he like to go with her? She almost asked him, but fear stopped her. At this point, he’d say no. She had to break up with Fletcher before she could go a step further with Scott.

“It’s a place you’ll never forget. If you’re drawn to it, it’s probably in your blood.”

“I agree. What do you think the amulet was used for?” she asked.

“Considering the words? Magic. Some amulets were worn to ward off evil spells and for protection. And some were for fertility.”

Fertility? Could that explain why it glowed brighter when she and Scott touched? Or when she was aroused? Maybe the amulet was a love potion in necklace form. This possibility gave her chills. She’d met Scott on the first day she’d worn it.

“I want to do more research,” she said.

When he handed the amulet back to her, a surge of light flashed through it. “Wow, why does it do that?”

“Good question.”

“Touch it again.” She held it up and as soon as his finger made contact, while she still held it, the peridot glowed bright green and grew warm. “That’s so strange.” The light within it had always been random, but now it seemed every time both she and Scott touched the amulet simultaneously, the light grew stronger.

“I have several books, if you’d like to borrow them,” he said. “Maybe there’s a legend about a glowing amulet.”

His words gave her hope. If she borrowed books from him, she’d have to see him in the future. “Thanks. That would be great, once the thugs are caught and we can get out of here.”

Not that she truly wanted to leave. She liked it here—correction, she
loved
being with Scott. His presence both comforted and disturbed her with her feelings of giddy excitement and wild happiness.

“We’ll cruise out and eat lunch at one of my favorite restaurants after I take a shower,” Scott said.

“Okay.”
Can I join you in the shower
? No, he probably wouldn’t be interested. He seemed to want to keep his distance this morning. “Are you going to wear a kilt?” She smacked a hand over her mouth. Why had she said that? Thinking out loud?
