Paroophoron
– a functionally insignificant remnant of the mesonephric ducts, structures which in a male embryo develop into part of the reproductive system but which involute in a female.  The paroophoron sits between the epoophoron and the uterus

 

Epoophoron
– similar to paroophoron, located between the ovaries and the uterus

 

Adnexa (adnexia sp.)
– Latin word meaning “appendages”, used in gynecology to refer to the structures surrounding the uterus (ovaries, fallopian tubes etc.)

– Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders - Fifth Edition, the main diagnostic reference for mental health professionals in North America

 

Amaurosis Fugax
– painless monocular (one-eyed) blindness characteristic of brain ischemia (lack of oxygen)
