Spent, she let out a delicious sigh that relaxed each muscle in her body one by one. Not ready to leave their warm embrace, she pressed small kisses to Luke’s chest and reached for Evan, ready for another lingering love affair.

“Ambrosia, sweetheart, forgive us.” Still buried within her walls, Evan rolled slightly to the side and Luke nuzzled her neck, rolling with them.

Forgive?

CHAPTER TEN

The sting came first then the slight tear on either side of her neck. Pressure built in her lungs and she struggled to let it rip from her lips. Their mouths worked over her neck and just as quickly the pain was gone. They released their grip.

Her chest rattled with her breathing.

Cables locked around her and meshed with the bands of magick that coursed through her veins.

Her eyes flung open to a burst of white followed by a wave of molten lava drowning her. She gasped for the slightest amount of sweet air only to find nothing. No air, no senses. No magick. As if she floated in a sea where time and space did not exist.

“Anchor yourself, sweetheart. Listen to our words, feel the strength of our wolves and follow us back to where you belong.” Evan and Luke’s fear became her own. Their memories a mixture of emotions and flashes of their lives. Some gruesome, some pleasant and tender. She reached out to stroke a finger down the ten-year-old version of Luke. Tears streamed down his cheeks to highlight a light dusting of freckles he no longer had. The scene around him of bloodshed and civil war. Two bodies lay by his feet, crumpled in a mess of filth and blood. Her heart ached for the boy she never knew and her mind flooded with a million different questions about what she was seeing.

From the amber eyes peering out across an invisible scene she could tell the next image was of Evan in wolf form. His white fur a stark contrast to the lush woods surrounding him. He lingered over a pup learning the skill of the hunt. Protective of his young charge. As if his younger self could sense her, the white wolf raised its gaze and locked on her through the vision. Her breath stilled. Spellbound, she froze.

Another flash. Again of Evan, only this time he was sitting in the back corner of The Matchstick. She knew it the second the scene came into focus because the bond had grown that night to a point where she almost broke down. He was watching her from a back table as she stood at the bar talking with friends and every emotion he felt for her fed through her like a direct feed of information.

It said
LOVE
and spoke of a devotion so strong tears burned her eyes. He watched for what seemed like minutes before turning to Luke.

What she heard stopped her heart. “Ambrosia is going to be the death of me because I’ll die trying to win her heart.”

Luke’s eyes blazed through the vision with the same raw emotions and shot straight to her heart. “We’ll die together then, brother.”

Jolted, she resurfaced to find the cool air of her protective circle and the warm bodies of Evan and Luke pressed against her. All flashes of their lives and borrowed emotions still flooding her mind, but she could see past the wave of information.

Slowly the world came into focus. “Take a moment. Just breathe.” Evan and Luke rose quickly to kneel beside her. Luke angled her to face him and tipped his forehead against hers while his hand rested on her midriff. “You’re okay. No harm will come to you.”

She shuddered. Such a small gesture, but her body responded with a spike of nerves and a need she couldn’t control. Now she didn’t have to.

“What was that? What happened? What did I see?”

Before answering Evan returned Ambrosia to recline on her side between them, her head cushioned on Evans outstretched arm.

Bathed in a pool of moonlight, Luke stretched back on one elbow, his arms open and ready for her. Smooth, cool skin glided against her body as he positioned himself closer. If it was possible to be pleasured and tortured at the same time she found it. So much delicious male pressed up against her yet so many questions. She didn’t know which to ask first.

Weak, spent, and a little confused, she voiced her concerns again. “What just happened?” She looked first at Evan and paused. Gone was any trace of red and the amber color she loved so much. Both jewel shades replaced by the brightest blue she could only describe as glacial.

“Jake.”

“What about him?” Luke pressed.

“His eyes and Honor’s, they were the same color as yours are now.” She reached out to both and rested a palm on each of their faces.

“Thought I smelled him in there. ‘Bout time he made his move.”

“Mind filling me in? Kinda lost here on the shifter talk.”

Evan and Luke gave out a soft, indulgent chuckle that warmed her heart.

“Our eyes, and yours, are now showing our status of being mated. Our pack magick, if you will, and your earthly magick has fused together to form a bond beyond just mating. We’ve melded together, the three of us, in a way that I haven’t heard of in a long time. An unbreakable bond. Our souls have intertwined to form one, Ambrosia. What you feel, experience, desire, we’ll feel.”

“What mister scientific over there is trying to say is—”

She lightly swatted at Evan and his diss to Luke. Her reward a sexy grin and wink.

“We’ve claimed you as ours and us as yours. Our thoughts, our pasts, our emotions are one now.”

That made her pause. Luke noticed her hesitation immediately.

“Are you okay with this, little witch?”

“This is beyond anything I ever imagined. I’ve gone from being completely alone to having two men that will never leave me. Who will know my every thought and feeling before I say it. That’s a little overwhelming.”

“It can be, but it doesn’t have to be. From the rumblings I’ve heard through our elders, there are ways of controlling it. Blocking the connection.”

“Oh no, last time I denied my heart what it wanted I almost died. But…”

“You have regrets.” Luke stated flatly.

“No.” She countered in a firm tone. “I just need time. I didn’t grow up in a pack. Hellz, I didn’t grow up with two parents. Just my mother and the Council, and when we changed cities to live here four years ago, my sisters.”

“You’ll never be alone again. We’ll give you all the time you need to adjust and we’ll tell you everything you want to know about. Just remember, this is new for us too.” She saw the truth of Evan’s words reflect back at her through his eyes.

That gave her heart a direct jolt. She was their first. And last. “Will I be able to shift?” She’d never thought about turning hairy, but the idea of shifting with her men and running through the woods had a certain appeal to it.

Her heart quickened. The smell of the woods filled her senses and she gasped when the power of the shift overcame her.

“You might not be able to shift—the bond can’t change who you are—but through our connection we can share everything about the experience.”

Luke placed a soft kiss to her shoulder where he’d left his mark. She stilled. “I’m sorry for hurting you. But with our mark you’ll always be safe now. You’re under pack protection, claimed as the alpha’s mate and his second-in-command’s.”

She gathered Evan’s hand and entwined their fingers, her gaze on Luke. “The danger I face is still very real, Luke. Nothing you can do about that.”

When they connected their gazes, his face softened. “Let’s see anyone try to lay a hand on you, High Council or otherwise. They know where to find us if they have a beef. But if nothing else, remember one thing. The rules—don’t be bound by them. This is your destiny, no one else’s. Not even ours.”

Evan settled his free hand on her midriff and splayed his fingers in a protective gesture. “All we can hope for is a long life with our mate full of the same happiness you give us.”

Tears wet her lashes and she fought to hold back the flood threatening to spill at their tenderly spoken words.

Instead, she did the one thing she could do. Slowly, she pushed to her knees and turned to face them. She angled her head up to the moon, letting the sliver of beams wash down over her. Fortify her.

Cool energy soothed her nerves and her moonpowers whispered beneath the surface. All restored as it should be.

With the overflow of power through her system and the newly formed connection, she still felt the need to share. She shook her hair loose until it spilled over her shoulders to tickle the soft flesh of her breasts and slowly made her way to Evan and Luke, who drank in her every movement greedily, their ethereal eyes tracking her.

“Mmm. My wolves are hungry. What do you say I feed them?”

Ambrosia shifted between them, showering kisses along their chests down their treasure trails and whimpered a needy little sound at the back of her throat, drawing their gazes to her when she found what she wanted.

Evan rested a hand on her thigh and Luke palmed her face. With little effort he pulled her close to rest on his outstretched arm. “Ambrosia, baby, you’re playing with fire.” He kept his tone low, seductive with a husky edge that stroked her just right.

Luke his lust beneath hooded eyes, but she could see through his tough bad-boy persona. “I think our little witch is back and ready to play, Ev.”

Evan rolled to his back and pulled her along with him until he had her straddling him. With one hand he held her hips still against his shaft. His thick girth parted her folds. Teased her. He had other ideas and Luke was right—she wanted to play with her shifters.

With one hand holding her in place, Evan anchored the other in her hair and slanted her lips close to his. “No regrets?” His eyes flashed with a hint of uncertainty, but she wasn’t going to let him go so easily.

“How can I think with your mouth so close to mine and your cock wedged between my folds? I might need a little coaxing and soothing before I can say.”

A salacious grin broke out across his face. “Sly fox. You know what wolves do with mischievous mates?”

Nope. But she couldn’t wait to find out.

Evan hauled her chest against his, holding her in place, his mouth a whisper away. One second his gaze held a thousand promises, in the next his mouth devoured her hungrily, delivering on them.

Gently Luke eased up behind her, pushing her down to rest on Evan’s chest. With a firm hand he pulled her cheeks apart and lifted her so Evan could position himself between her folds.

Evan stroked the swollen bulb of his shaft along her seam to free a bath of warm liquid. She broke their kiss, desperate for air, anticipating the undying pleasure her men would shower on her.

In a slow thrust Evan buried his full length. How could she still want them with such fevered need after their earlier lovemaking?

Did it matter?

Burning pleasure tore through her body. Her nails bit into Evan’s shoulders, her back arched, thrusting her breasts into Luke’s awaiting hands, his arms wrapped around her torso, tongue and lips working up the small of her back. She rolled her hips and clenched around Evan’s shaft, a guttural groan and a deep growl her reward.

They stoked the fire within her until the ache demanded attention. It was only fair she give a little back.

Their first night together they’d taken her in this same position, the passion between the three of them soul burning on what she wished could have been the first night of a life time.

No more wishing. No more pain. Let the clock of forever begin now.

Evan gathered her hands in his and placed a kiss to the tips of each of her fingers in turn.

A blanket of heat wrapped around her and she relished the feeling. Shifters ran a few degrees hotter than humans, or witches, and it was probably the only reason she made it through her encounter with them out in the snow.

Tenderly he returned her hands to his shoulders then trailed a hand around her waist to knead the plump flesh of her ass with a delicious massage.

“Mmm. Mouth-watering. All of you.” Luke brought her gaze around to him. “And Ours. Say it.”

Evan pushed deeper only to pull out then slam home. The powerful thrust rocked her core, each jolt a live wire connected to coiled desire. They’d done everything in their power to save her and by some magick or miracle, she’d survived.

“Yours,” she breathed out on a sigh.

Luke found her clit. “There, sweet… goddesses…”

“Yes. Sweet and so fucking tight. Again. I want to hear the words again.” Evan groaned hoarsely, desperate to find the same release she craved.

“YOURS!” She dipped her hip, tightened her channel around his shaft and rocked just enough to match his rhythm. He drove inside her. Once, then again.

Luke reached around and teased her swollen bud, pressed and captured her groaned pleasure with his lips. Hard tremors shuddered through her body. In another thrust Evan found his release.

Tonight could have turned out differently for all the wrong reasons. Laws she held so dear had almost ripped the one chance she had at happiness from her for good. She would never be so blind again. The power of their magick saved all three of them and sealed their fate. If she needed proof of what really mattered in life, she had it. Right here, right now. And they were together.

“I love you…” Her voice was ragged, unsteady, but every single word no less true. “Both of you.” She looked between them.

“With all that we are, little witch. We love you too.” Luke gathered her hair in one hand and pulled her close for a gentle kiss that said everything she needed to hear.

“You’ve jinxed us utterly and completely, little witch.”
