Damn babe, you taste so fucking good,

he tells me, voice rugged and scratchy.

I

m spent! My body continues to twitch as he places small kisses all over the inside of my thighs. I think that was a record-breaking orgasm. He climbs up my body to give me a sweet peck on the nape of my neck

CHAPTER TWENTY ONE

Kyle

The sound of her moans play over in my head as we drive to the restaurant to meet my parents. This woman is a Goddess, and for the moment, she is all mine. How did I get so lucky? I grab her hand, nonchalantly entwining it with mine. She looks over questioningly but doesn

t say a word. We drive in a calming silence the rest of the way.

We pull up to Stella

s. It looks busy. Before I get out of the car, I look over to Max.

I

m not sure how the night

s going to play out, so can you do me a favor?

I ask her.

Sure, anything.

If things get to be too much, will you leave with me?

Without even a thought, she answers,

Of course I will.

I can

t help but crack a smile.

Come here,

I ask. She instantly brings her face to mine. I gaze into her beautiful blue eyes.

Thank you.

I give her a long, deep kiss to show her my appreciation.

We create a distance between each other as we walk into the restaurant. My parents and brother are already sitting at the table. My father gets up to greet Max, gives me a pat on the back, and pulls out a chair for Max to sit.

He then looks at his watch.

You

re late, son.

It

s only quarter past seven.

My mouth opens to speak, but Max jumps in first.

It was my fault. I was having a conversation with my brother, so Kyle kindly waited until I was finished.

Oh, how is your brother? Did you tell him the great news?

my mother asks.

I look to her and then my mom.

What news?

I ask.

Maxine has decided to join us. We

re going to be announcing it next week to the whole agency,

my mother explains.

My brows lift in surprise.

Wow, that

s great! When did you decide this?

I ask Max.

Through my peripheral vision, I see my brother watching as he sips on his drink. I cringe just knowing he

s near me. Just the sight of him angers me.

Actually, it was only yesterday that the decision was made. I couldn

t be happier. I did tell my brother; he took it pretty well. I know he

ll visit. He

s just bummed I

ll be so far away,

she tells us.

What does your brother do for a living?

Junior asks.

He actually runs a marina. He makes really good money doing it. He loves the water, so it

s the perfect job for him.

And you also have a younger brother, correct?

my mother questions.

The waitress comes around for our drink orders.

Yes, Justin. I haven

t gotten the chance to speak with him yet, but he

s easy-going. Plus, he

s busy with his girlfriend lately, so it can be difficult to reach him,

she says.

How about your parents?

Junior inquires.

I see her tense up from the question, so I decide to step in.

How about we all do a shot of Patr
ó
n?

I call the waitress back over and order five shots.

I could definitely use one,

my father agrees.

My parents are busy with work. I

m sure you can understand how that is,

Max says.

I do need to break the news to my assistant, Kinsey, though.

The waitress returns with the shots in hand. We all take one and hold it up. We wait for my father to say a little something.

He holds his shot up high.

Here

s to new ventures, new relationships, and a bright future. Salute!

Salute!

we all repeat, throwing back the shots.

I have to admit, I froze for a split second during the

new relationships

part of the toast, but I relaxed once Max nudged my foot. I

m counting on her to be my rock for the night. I already know this is the calm before the storm.

I

m excited to meet Kinsey! How does she feel about moving up here?

Mom asks. My mother loves meeting new people. She finds human interactions fascinating. Sometimes I think she should have studied sociology rather than working as a literary agent.

I don

t recall her mentioning an assistant, but we barely know each other at this point. I realize there is still a lot that I don

t know. I keep forgetting that fact because when I

m with her, it feels as though I

ve known her forever.

You know, she loves traveling, and she loves her work. She

s not tied down to any one place. I know she

ll be excited as well.

Have you had time to look for a place yet?

my father asks, jumping in.

The waitress comes back to take our food order. As I

m waiting to place my order, I notice one of Beth

s best friends, Carrie, at a table adjacent from us. She

s in the company of a man who I can only assume is her boyfriend by watching her body language. I never really cared for Carrie. She had wandering eyes then, and she still has wandering eyes. I can only imagine who she will be dialing once she leaves here.

I

m the last to place my order. The waitress seems to be extra friendly with me, and I can see Max

s displeasure. She tries her best to play it off, but I can sense it, and I

m loving it.

I actually will be joining Jonathan this weekend to start my house hunt. I guess he has some good connections, and I need to find something quick but something that will also be a good fit,

she informs.

Immediately, my blood begins to boil. The thought of her alone with him pisses me off to no end. A million and one thoughts pass through my head on how to take him out. What kills me the most is that she

s willingly going with him! He

s openly flirted with her. She can

t be that na
ï
ve to it, can she? Maybe she feels the same about him. Maybe I

m just someone fun to pass the time with. I stand up and excuse myself from the table. I need a moment, so I head to the men

s bathroom.

Carrie eyeballs me as I walk by her table to the bathroom. Disgusting. I can

t stand girls like that. Reminds me of Beth.

I wash my face under the cold water. The door opens as I reach for the paper towels. I look over, and it

s Max. She locks the door behind her.

What are you doing in here?

I ask.

She comes up close to me.

Are you upset?

Man, was it that noticeable?

Why do you ask?

I reply in a low tone.

It

s just a feeling. As soon as I mentioned Jonathan, you came in here as if you needed to get away from me.

She has her arms crossed in front of her chest.

I don

t like him in that way if that

s what you

re thinking,

she says, looking sincere.

I

m sorry, but the thought of you alone with him bothers me. I don

t know why; it just does,

I say honestly, still keeping an invisible wall between us.

She puts her hands on my chest, luring me in with her enticing baby blues. I fall for it. She sends my wall shattering down into a million pieces.

I

m here with you, Kyle. When I leave him on Saturday, I will be heading straight to your place. Just keep in mind that
you

re
the one that will be inside of me all night long. No one else. Just you.

I instantly get hard. I grab her and pull her into me. She immediately wraps her arms around my neck, bringing her body into mine. I plunge my tongue deep into her mouth, massaging it against hers. She rubs her lower body against my bulge, driving me wild. I shove my hand down her pants, underneath her wet panties, and dive my fingers into her pulsating slit. She instantly melts under my fingers. I work her fast while kissing her fiercely.

Just as I

m about to touch her most sensitive spot, there

s a knock on the door. We freeze, knowing this could possibly be it. This could be the moment where we are outed. I

m not ready for this to end. This is nowhere near finished. I don

t even think I could stay away from her if I tried. Not yet at least.

She runs into the stall. I unlock the door, and I

m relieved to see an old man on the other side.

Sorry about that. The door must have got stuck,

I lie. He nods when he passes me, shooting me a knowing smirk.

When he goes into a stall, I sneak Max out. She goes to the table, and I find a back door to slide out. I walk around to the front entrance to make it look like I was on a call outside for those missing minutes.

Our salads have made their way to our table already.

Hey honey, I was wondering what happened to you. I was just about to call you,

my mother says with some concern.

Sorry, I had an important call I had to take,

I tell her, holding up my phone.

My father and Max are already in the midst of a conversation, as though they never missed a beat.

Well, listen, if you need help moving your things up here, I

m sure Kyle would be willing to help. I can give him some paid time off,

my father tells Max. He then turns to me.

Would that be okay with you?

Yeah, I wouldn

t mind,

I answer. Of course I wouldn

t mind being somewhere miles away, alone with Max. At this moment, she has me completely strung out by just her body alone. It

s just something about her that I can

t stop thinking about. The more I delve my body into hers, the more I want.

She nods at my father

s offer.

Okay, that works for me. I am hoping to head back late next week if that works for the both of you?

she looks between us both.
