Gary couldn’t
believe his luck that night, and he felt like all of his dreams had come true
at the same time. Vicky had suddenly started acting like a woman possessed. The
minute they’d got through the door she’d stripped him naked and begun screwing
his brains out. Just at the point when he thought he wouldn’t be able to handle
any more, the door had opened, and seconds later, Ging had suddenly joined in.
Vicky easily outlasted the two men who soon lay shagged out on either side of
her, and from that day on the three of them shared a whole host of sexual
fantasies. This had gone precisely according to plan, and Vicky now knew she
had the two skinheads exactly where she wanted them. The estates two toughest
men were like putty in her hands, and there was no doubt in her mind that
they’d do just about anything she asked them to do.

CHAPTER 22 – Gang Life

The
past five weeks had come and gone without incident. The police had already got
to know Rachel fairly well, although they all still felt a little uncomfortable
around her son. Whenever he looked at them, they felt like they were naked
under a microscope, and seemed totally unable to hide anything from his
constantly prying eyes. Danny appeared to be growing unusually fast with each
passing day, and it certainly hadn’t gone unnoticed that for a boy of two and a
half years old, he already had the body of a ten year old, along with an
amazingly high IQ to match. The guarding of the flat had become fairly lax over
the last week, especially as the weather had grown so hot and uncomfortable.
Yet everyone carried on regardless and continued to play the waiting game, in
the hope that something would happen fairly soon.

Dana
was becoming extremely impatient. Nothing was moving and the whole atmosphere
seemed to be really stagnant. Even Huey, Duey and Luey were beginning to get
homesick, having already complained that life moved so much slower in England
compared to the good old USA. Ignoring their petty remarks and then biding her
time by becoming deeply entrenched in some of her other cases, she still kept
in close touch with the surveillance teams. This happened every four hours,
with the proviso of her having made it perfectly clear that she was to be
contacted as soon as anything looked remotely suspicious. She knew that with
each day that passed, Vicky would be one step further ahead with her evil plan,
and couldn’t help but wonder where the hell she was and what she was up to
right now. Taking her time, and finally putting pen to paper, Dana simply
concentrated on what she was supposed to be doing. She continued with one of
the three written reports that her boss had been chasing her for as of late,
and hoped that at least that would perhaps put an end to his constant bouts of
nagging at her.

She’d also
visited Rachel over the last two evenings, having already agreed that this
would probably be the best time to talk, especially as Danny was
supposed to have been in bed on both occasions,
despite the fact that he hardly ever slept nowadays. Dana was totally convinced
that their conversations were being overheard whenever she was there, but she
didn’t raise it for now.

It
was ten past ten in the evening. They stood waiting outside the local
supermarket and were bathed in a florescent glow from the streetlight
flickering above. Not long after, a short sharp whistle from the street corner
at the end, told them that the person they’d been waiting for was finally on
his way. Micky Hart had been the gang leader of the estate long before Gary had
taken over. It now transpired that two days ago he’d upset ‘Ronny the Bottle’
who happened to be one of Gary’s hardest men. Evidently, it had all started
with some sort of stupid argument over a woman. Micky had refused to apologise,
despite being given plenty of chances to do so, and as a consequence, he now
faced a vital showdown with Ronny, in order to sort the whole thing out, once and
for all. Both men stood and faced each other with each waiting for the other to
make the first move. Eventually it was Ronny who broke first. He suddenly
brought his arm up from behind his back, causing light to reflect off the
broken bottle, which he now aimed at the other man’s exposed face. The jagged
edges looked extremely deadly, and this was all that Micky needed to start his
attack. He proved to be much faster than Ronny had ever expected him to be, who
fortunately managed to block the progress of the swing with a well executed
block of his left arm. Ronny was completely shocked and caught off guard when a
karate chop caught him directly across the windpipe. He was also far too slow
to stop the follow through of his opponent’s foot, as it struck him with full
force on the side of his head, which caused him to crash very heavily to the
floor. Micky saw that the guy was lying completely unconscious and started to
get increasingly angry. He didn’t waste any time at all, as he swiftly turned
and faced the rest of the gang.

‘So you lot like playing with bottles do
you?’ he shouted, as he ran across to a stack of three milk-crates that just
happened to be leaning, propped up against a shop doorway opposite, obviously
ready and waiting for collection. Vicky was the first to realise what was just
about to happen, and it was just as well that she did.

‘Run!’ She screamed at the top of her
voice, as a shower of empty milk bottles rained down from above. The gang
instantly split apart and scattered in a range of different directions. There
were great signs of panic as they desperately tried to avoid the missiles that
began smashing into tiny fragments all around them. The bottles made a lot of
noise as they hit the pavements and roads the gang members were using. Micky
was busy laughing like a man who was totally insane, as he continued to launch
the empty bottles into the air. He ensured that he kept the barrage going right
up until every single bottle from the top crate had been thrown. By that time they’d
all disappeared from view, so he removed the top crate and grabbed a few more
bottles, before dealing with Ronny, who’d still lain unconscious next to his
broken bottle. Once this was done, and happy with his handiwork, he then walked
off in search of the rest of them. When most of the skinheads had finally
regrouped back at the flat, they all sat trying to regain their breath, before
talking about what had just happened.

‘I’ve never run so fucking fast in my
life!’ said one of the younger ones, as they all fell about with laughter. Only
one other member of the gang, apart from Ronny, had been hit by one the flying
bottles. He’d been caught on the shoulder and had already refused to go to the
hospital to have it looked at. He wasn’t too fussed, and had already chosen to
ignore the pain. It would only be bruised, he’d already made sure that it
wasn’t cut.

Ronny on the other hand hadn’t been quite
so lucky. Micky had taken a great deal of pleasure carving up his face with a
piece of glass, used from the guys own bottle. Especially seeing as the rest of
the
gang had already disappeared from
view and left him to fend for himself. It appeared that he’d lost a lot of
blood and could possibly be left with a permanent facial scar. He’d more than
likely be out of action for another couple of weeks, according to the latest
news from one of the gang, who’d only just arrived back. It transpired that
he’d decided to go back to see what had happened, and with no sign of Micky
around, he’d managed to get a chance to talk to one of the ambulance men, as
they were loading the stretcher onto the back of the vehicle. The fact that
Ronny had failed to take out Micky Hart, meant that he was already out of
favour with the rest of the gang. Therefore, he was soon forgotten about,
especially as they now knew that he was going to be safely tucked up somewhere
in a nice hospital, being pampered by a load of sexy nurses.

Two
days later, sitting beside Gary on the half wrecked sofa, Vicky turned to him
and made a suggestion to help alleviate the boredom.

‘How about carrying out a midnight raid on
that flat the cops seem to be keeping so closely guarded all the time?’ Gary
looked at Vicky and gave a wry smile. ‘What the hell would we want to do that
for?’

‘Because as far as I can see, we just sit
here on our arses most of the time, and never seem to achieve anything. It’s
just like now for instance. I reckon that whatever they’re protecting up there,
it must be of some sort of value to someone, otherwise, why are they bothering?
Maybe it’s a secret stash of drugs, or the latest designer weapons, or
something like that.’

‘Don’t be so stupid!’ he responded
automatically. Although she felt like ripping his head off and going it alone,
Vicky knew that she’d caught his interest. Now that the seed had finally been
planted, she just needed to push it a little bit further.

‘Well then?’ she demanded with a playful
punch to his arm, having given him more than enough time to consider what she’d
said.

‘Listen Vic. I happen to know that there’s
a woman with a young kid living up there. So what the hell would they be doing
with drugs or guns?’

‘That doesn’t mean she’s not an
international smuggler does it? You watched that programme about it on the box
the other day. You bloody well sat and watched it with me. All those women who
got caught by the cops, were mothers with young kids weren’t they?’ So what’s
to say that something similar isn’t going on, right on our own doorstep?

‘Well its obvious where you got that silly
idea from then isn’t it!’ he retorted, giving her a return thump. Vicky
immediately stood up and pretended to sulk. She walked towards the bedroom
before turning back and answering him in a slightly raised voice.

‘I seriously thought it would have been a
good way of proving that we were much smarter than the cops. Just think how big
our reputation would become if we actually pulled something like that off! We’d
be mentioned in all the national newspapers and I wouldn’t be surprised if we
became cult heroes overnight. That’s the sort of thing that happens in the big
world outside this poxy estate.’ The bedroom door was slammed shut. However,
Gary was soon lost in thought as he began to picture himself on the front pages
of all the big newspapers. It was actually possible that Vicky’s idea wasn’t
such a wild one after all. It was probably worth considering a bit further
before going ahead and making any rash decisions, especially ones that he may
regret later. Vicky was certainly amazing between the sheets, and he really
didn’t want to jeopardise that. Damn it! He was already getting horny just
thinking about her.

After just five minutes of sitting alone on
the sofa, Gary eventually decided to go and make his peace with this very
unusual woman, who he hated to admit it, but he was fast becoming very attached
to. As Ging was out of the flat for a while, this also helped make up his mind.
Yet it was just as he went to put down his beer, that

he cursed out loud, as the bloody thing
suddenly slipped from his hand. Moving swiftly and aiming a quick kick at the
falling object, he somehow managed to catch it on the volley, just before it
hit the floor. Miraculously the bottle didn’t break, as it slammed with force
against the side of the living room wall. Gary just stood and stared as the
upright bottle almost came to a standstill before tipping onto its side,
thereby causing the contents to spill onto the dark green carpet, which was
already covered in enough crap.

‘Bollocks!’ he exclaimed, before walking
over, pushing the bedroom door open and starting to loosen the belt on his
jeans.

Rachel
had already noticed the sudden change in Danny over the last few days, and she
knew it wasn’t easy for either of them being monitored constantly each day. It felt
as if they were living in a fish bowl most of the time, but the
most frustrating thing was, that whenever she’d
asked him what the problem was, the boy just became even moodier and then went
off sulking into his bedroom without saying a single word. Danny would happily
spend most of the night gazing into space from his bedroom window, while his
mother slept in the room next door. This always appeared to have a calming
effect on him, and on certain occasions he felt as though someone were out
there, and trying to communicate with him from far, far away. He’d kept quiet
about the strange disks that appeared before him whenever he thought about
them. He decided that this was probably a wise thing to do, especially as he
didn’t wish to draw any further attention to himself.

This amazing development had originally
occurred two days ago. It had happened while he lay on his bed reading a book
about the many different types of dinosaurs that had inhabited the planet
millions of years ago. He’d been staring down at a picture of the fossilised
remains of a Pterosaur, a flying reptile discovered in a part of Germany, when
it suddenly started to shimmer before his eyes. At first he though his eyes
were playing tricks on him, and then it suddenly formed a three-dimensional
image that slowly lifted right away from the book. A voice in his head suddenly
accompanied the scene before him. Then it started detailing everything he could
possibly want to know about the image. On reaching out to stroke it, being
naturally very cautious at first, he found the edges to be completely solid,
plus there was a certain warmness to its touch. Experimenting with this brand
new experience for the next few hours, he soon learnt to master the stone disks
pretty well, and he was very soon able to manipulate them to suit his needs. As
expected, discovering the fact that he was Dra-Na-Zee obviously came as a total
shock to Danny, and for the first time in his life he realised why he’d always
felt like such an outcast from the other children. He’d felt so lonely, but now
at least he appeared to have some sort of an answer. There was only one person
who he felt he should blame for all that had gone on. For that reason, that was
why for the last few days, the youngster had begun to despise his mother so
badly.
