“That’s odd,” Edith said.

Ivar shifted the heavy load he was carrying. “Let’s go. I want to look at this data for—”

“No,” Edith said. “This isn’t right.”

Ivar sighed as Edith led them down a corridor but turned left instead of right.

“Edith,” Ivar began, but then she pushed open a door and stepped through. Having no choice, Ivar followed. They were on a balcony overlooking one of the exhibit halls. A throng of people were milling and moving below them taking in the paintings and sculptures.

“Everything’s fine,” Ivar said. “Can we—”

Edith gasped. She lifted a hand, finger trembling. “Look!”

Ivar stared where she was pointing. A row of paintings. “I don’t—” he faltered as one of the paintings faded from sight.

No one in the crowd seemed to notice.

“I don’t—” Ivar began, but then another painting was gone.

“Oh, dear!” Edith exclaimed. “Not the art.”

“It’s just some paintings,” Ivar said.

Edith turned to him and grabbed him by the shirt. “Don’t you understand? The art is the beginning of everything. If it all disappears, it’s the end of everything.”

The next installment in the Time Patrol Series

The future is made by ordinary people doing extraordinary things.

The fact that history doesn’t record the heroics of these people doesn’t alter that.

The 6
th
of June is a day full of such events.

While history doesn’t record the heroics, there are those who notice. And there are those who want to stop those ordinary people and change our history in order to create a time tsunami and wipe our present out.

It is up to the Time Patrol to send an agent back to each 6
th
of June and make sure that doesn’t happen!
