“I wanted to do something nice for you.”

“You already did. You bought my grandmother and me luxury cruise tickets.”

He swung the door open. “Have you told her about the trip?”

“Not yet. I’m still trying to find a way to justify letting you do something so extravagant for me.” She crossed her arms over her chest and watched him close the door. “So….?”

“So what?”

“Why am I here?

He dropped his head back and closed his eyes. “I don’t know.” He heaved a long breath. “I guess maybe because I’ve been kidding myself.”

“About?”

“You.” He opened his eyes and stared down at her upturned face. “About how thoughts of you consume every waking moment of my life. About how much I want you. You’re here because I was dying to spend more time alone with you.”

She gazed back at him, her mouth agape. “Oh.”

“Too much honesty?”

“N-no. Honesty is good. If we’re being truthful, I really wanted you to make love to me on Friday night.”

Her admission reminded his lower half what it felt like to nestle against her slick heat and be only a millimeter from taking her. His body responded accordingly and grew as hard as it had been in the limo after the charity auction.

“You’re adamant about keeping our relationship strictly professional.” She swept her hand around the living room. “But bringing me here isn’t very—”

“Businesslike,” he finished for her and cupped her cheek in his hand. Lowering his head, he whispered against her mouth, “I know. But it seems I can’t help myself.”

He gently nibbled her lips, flicking his tongue at the crease between them, tasting the sweet chocolate she’d eaten for dessert. Her arms crept around his neck, accompanied by a soft mewl in her throat.

“I’m beginning to think you had the right idea on Friday,” he murmured, nipping his way down her neck. He slid her skimpy halter aside and cupped the curve of her bared breast. Damn she was soft. “My obsession for you isn’t going to go away until I satisfy it.”

“I feel the same way.” Her spine arched.

He caressed her nipple with his thumb, and she gasped. As her peak instantly stiffened, tightening into a hard bud for him, his erection swelled even more, which he hadn’t thought possible. If he did nothing else tonight, he had to taste her. He bent her back over his arm and circled the tip of her breast with his tongue, gently sucking her luscious nipple.

Her eager panting increased the pressure in his groin until it felt as if he might burst. “Hannah,” he murmured into her softness, “if the board ever found out—”

“They won’t. Not from me. I swear.”

He straightened up and put some distance between them while still supporting her. “Damn it. Don’t you see how unfair this is to you? I’ll have to end our little fling as soon as we get back to New Jersey. I can’t take any chances on someone discovering we’ve slept together. Can you live with that?”

“Jordan, I won’t lie to you.” She brushed a lock of hair back from his forehead. “I’d love a future with you. But I know your feelings on commitment.”

“Then why would you want me to—”

“I don’t want to marry some dud like my ex-fiancé and always wonder if it would’ve been different with you. If I’m ever going to explore my sexuality, it needs to be now, before I promise myself to anyone. I want to know what it’s like to be with the right man.”

“Just as long as you’re agreeing for yourself and not just to please me.”

“No, way.” She chuckled. “I’m definitely hoping the pleasure will be mutual.”

He scooped her up and carried her toward the bedroom. “I promise, Sweetheart, if we spend the night together, you’ll be walking out of here tomorrow a very happy woman.”

Chapter 15

pleas•
ure
  n. 1. The state or feeling of being pleased or gratified. 2. A source of enjoyment or delight. 3. Sensual gratification or indulgence.

A woman can muster boundless energy when an opportunity for pleasure arises.

“And a very tired one.” Hannah kicked off her pumps and laughed as Jordan deposited her on the king-size bed which the butler had already turned down. “As little sleep as I had last night, I’m thinking I should’ve taken a nap today instead of a bubble bath. Did you see the tub? It’s big enough to throw a swim party.” She picked up the gold-wrapped bar of candy from the pillow next to her. “This really does look like it came from Fort Knox. I wonder if the chocolate is as good as its fancy wrapper suggests.”

Oh, jeez, she was babbling again—something she hadn’t done in weeks. Of course, she hadn’t been this nervous, either.

“I’m sure it is,” he murmured, rolling her stockings off. “AJ wouldn’t give his guests anything but the best.”

She shivered from his fingertips’ caress on her inner thighs. “You’re friends with AJ Baldwin?”

“Sort of.” He straightened and pulled off his jacket and tie, laying them over a chair. “I met him a few months ago at one of Kurt Preston’s little soirees. I’m sure he’ll be happy to send you a case of those, if I ask.”

“Thanks, but I really don’t need the calories.” She stifled a yawn.

Sinking next to her, he lowered her back on the luxurious sheets and tangled his fingers in her hair. “Are you sleepy? We could snooze a while, first.”

In truth, she was exhausted. “No, I’ll be okay.”

“I don’t want you just
okay
, Hannah. I’m not some horny teenager who can’t wait a few more hours. I want you awake and ready to play. In fact, I’m canceling my golf outing and taking you sightseeing tomorrow. You can consider this trip the date you bought. We’ll have plenty of time in the morning if you’re too tired tonight.”

Was he always this considerate? Kevin had never cared whether she was in the mood or tired, or most importantly, satisfied. There was no question if she was ready now. The seductive kisses Jordan had given her in the living room had left her embarrassingly eager for him. “I’m beginning to wonder if you still want me.”

His sooty lashes dropped to half-mast. The desire simmering in the depths of his blue eyes killed any doubt she had. “You have no idea how much.” He dotted her face with several feather-light kisses. “But if I only have one date with you, I’m not settling for anything less than perfect.”

Stretching like a cat, she smiled up at the sheer silvery fabric draped around the bed as a canopy. It gave the suite the seductive atmosphere of a sultan’s boudoir. “Thank you for making today so special for me.”

She sat up and brushed his lips with hers, and the scent of his spicy aftershave reminded her of the intimate way he’d held her while they’d danced together on Friday evening—and of how smelly her nervous perspiration might have left her tonight.

“Maybe if I take a shower, it’ll wake me up. Besides, I’d like to be fresh for you.”

For
me?” He tickled her rib. “You’re usually fresh
to
me.” He jerked his head toward the elegant marble bathroom. “Go ahead. While you’re doing that, I’ll call and beg off from the foursome tomorrow and put out the Do Not Disturb sign. The last thing I want is
Jeeves
interrupting us.”

“His name is Gregory,” she called over her shoulder as she padded across the plush white carpet that nearly swallowed her bare fee on the way to the immense bathroom. Once she undressed and put her hair up with
an elastic
to keep it dry, she flipped on the shower’s brass faucet. Hot water sprayed from jets positioned all around the oversized stall that doubled as a steam room.

Stepping in, away from the overhead spigot at one end of the stall, she moaned at the pulsating water massaging every inch of her weary body. As the spray beat against her nipples, making her tingle all over, her nerve endings sang. A cool draft wafted into the glass cubicle, and Jordan stepped in with her, gloriously naked.

Strangely enough, for the first time in her life, Hannah felt a complete lack of modesty. She couldn’t say if it was the effect of her hypnosis or the blatant male appreciation in Jordan’s eyes. Either way, she’d never felt so sexy and desirable in her life—or so ready to make love.

She dropped her gaze to his thick erection jutting proudly from its ebony nest, and her throat turned dry. Talk about impressive. When his penis had poked its head out of his fly in the limo on Friday night, it hadn’t seemed nearly as—

“Are you okay?”

Wow
.” She swallowed hard.

“Don’t be too impressed. I’m not that much bigger than the average guy.”

Good to know. At first glance, her mind had immediately flipped back to her high school physics classes about displacement and mass versus volume.

Clearly, Kevin’s claim of being average had been a gross exaggeration. Her ex-fiancé’s penis might only be an inch or so shorter than Jordan’s, but thickness-wise, it was like comparing her pinky to her thumb. Both were approximately the same length, however, her pinky ring would never begin to fit on her thumb.

Jordan stroked her cheek with his knuckles. “Listen, I know from that night in the parking lot you’re small, but—”

“That’s what I get for doing all those
Kegel
exercises. I read somewhere they’d help me orgasm. A lot of good it’s done.”

Ahh, that
explains why you felt as tight as a virgin. And here I’d chalked it up to your ex having a needle-dick.”

“Kevin’s penis isn’t
that
skinny.” She laughed. “It’s more like a carrot.” In any case, the prospect of Jordan sliding his cucumber-sized Willie between her legs was a little daunting.

“Well, your exercises weren’t a waste. Keep at them. A snug fit is pure heaven for a guy.”

“Tight may be good for a man, but what about for the poor woman?”

“It makes sex better for her, too. I promise to go slowly. I’ve yet to hurt anyone. If it makes you feel any better, my previous partners have told me I have a perfect penis.”

“That’s nice to hear.” She released a breath of relief, lathering herself. “Maybe you should make a mold of yourself and have the medical device division produce vibrators from the cast.”

“Right.” He grinned.

“Seriously. You could sell them to all those horny women who keep hitting on you. You’d make a fortune.”

“Doubling the division’s profits would certainly impress the board.” He took the bar of soap from her. “Mind if I take over?”

Heavens no, it would free her hands to touch his magnificent body. “Not as long as I get to wash you, too.”

When she reached out to stroke him, he grabbed her wrists and then wound her arms around his neck. “Not yet. Let’s concentrate on you for the time being.” He cupped her breasts in his soapy palms and covered her lips with his.

His warm tongue darted into her mouth, tasting and teasing its interior, and her senses whirled. Slippery hands kneaded her curves and lathered the curls between her legs. She shivered, arching her back and whimpering while he caressed her already stiff nipples until they ached to be in his mouth again. Her breaths quickened, keeping time with her hammering heart.

After letting the water rinse the suds off her, he lifted her against the tile, his muscles flexing beneath her palms. He nibbled a tantalizing trail down her throat and drew one sensitive peak into his mouth while simultaneously pinching the other. Her breath froze in her chest.

“Damn, you taste good,” his passion-drenched voice echoed off the tile.

Grabbing his shoulders, she whimpered, “Oh, Jordan.”

His other hand slid between her legs and stroked the sensitive bud there making it swell. He was so gentle and patient. What if she still couldn’t climax—even with his talent and perfect penis?

As he suckled and licked each of her breasts, making them throb with pleasure, she clutched his damp hair. “Please don’t be upset if I can’t get to the finish line. It doesn’t mean you—”

“Relax.” He lifted his head and stared into her eyes. “I’ve never disappointed a woman yet, and I don’t intend to start now. I’ve been told I’m very good at this.”

“So I’ve heard. But I’m not.”

He chuckled into her hair, lowering her to her feet. “How do you know if you’ve never had an orgasm?”

“See, that proves it. In politically correct terms, I’d be classified as sexually challenged.”

Rolling his eyes, he smiled. “The only thing it proves is you’ve never been to bed with a man who took his time pleasing you.”

“Maybe I’m one of those women who
needs
that cream Calder is developing.”

“Not likely. Do you know how few females are incapable of climaxing with enough foreplay?”

She picked up the bar of soap and washed his muscular chest, making him groan. His smooth erection twitched and pulsed under her sudsy palm as if it had a life of its own.

“I just don’t want you to be disappointed. You went to so much expense and trouble to make this special for—”

He crushed her lips with his, and after spinning the faucet to the off position, he grabbed one of the fluffy bath sheets and toweled her dry from the top of her head to her toes.

“Why are we getting out? I didn’t finish washing you.”

He rubbed the terrycloth over his own body. “Do you always talk this much while you’re making love?”

“I’m sorry. I’m really nervous.”

He grabbed the bottle of body lotion off the vanity and scooped her up in his arms as if she weighed nothing. “Maybe if I relax you enough, you’ll stop worrying.” He carried her back to the bedroom and laid her on the cool satin sheets.

“I didn’t mean to ruin tonight for you.”

“Oh, Hannah.” He held her against his broad chest. “Shhh....you haven’t. You’re ruining it for yourself. I’ve never met a woman with performance anxiety before. That normally happens to guys.”

He rolled her onto her stomach, shook a cool dollop of lotion on her, and spread it over her back, gently massaging her neck and shoulders. His tender touch chipped away at her anxiety and made it impossible to keep her heart removed from the experience.

When a soft moan escaped her, he whispered, “That’s it. Relax and stop thinking about the orgasm you’re
not
going to have. As a matter of fact, you’re not allowed to have one.”
