“You sound strange.”
She hated that he could so easily pick up
on her every emotion.
“I’m
fine.
It’s been a long day.”
“That’s too bad.
I was about to invite you to go
somewhere special with me.”
The power suddenly came back on, and
blessed light filled the room.
Everything was okay again.
Lanie took a deep breath in, then let it
out and released all her pent up tension.
“You mean now?
Like,
tonight?” she asked, reassuring herself that the power was staying on, as she
got up and walked through her apartment.
“Exactly.
And I think you’ll like this place,”
Brayden told her, his voice sensual, mysterious.
“You have no idea what I like,” she
replied, but she was smiling anyway.
“I guess we’ll find out just how good my
instincts are,” he said.
“What should I wear?”
“As little as possible,” he replied.
“Brayden—“
“Be ready in twenty minutes.”
And then he hung up.
***
She decided to wear the shortest skirt
she owned and a blouse with revealing cleavage.
Very high heels.
Her panties were a lacy thong, and no
bra.
It took all of her courage to open the
door and walk outside, where Brayden was waiting in his black BMW that
glimmered like an apparition, idling on the corner of her street.
When she slid into the passenger seat, he
gave her a sidelong glance.
“Very
nice, Lanie.”
And then he shifted
into gear and they shot out into the street and flew down the road.
Brayden was dressed in a dark suit and he
was wearing a Rolex.
He looked, for the first time, like the
wealthy owner of a highly successful corporation.
The other times she’d seen
him,
he’d always had a little bit of the college frat boy
vibe about him.
But this was a different look.
A different attitude.
Lanie realized that she was more
attracted to him than ever.
I
want this to be the night.
I
want to be fucked by Brayden Forman.
Maybe in the back of his car.
Or maybe in his
beautiful apartment.
Wherever
he wants me, he can have me.
She was already wet, just thinking about
what might happen tonight between them.
“So where are we going?” she asked, her
voice almost a purr.
Brayden kept his eyes on the road.
“Be patient,” he said.
“You’re suddenly very quiet,” she
observed.
“I feel like maybe I’m in
for a shock.”
“And I think you should be patient, like
I told you,” he reprimanded, just the faintest hint of an edge to his tone.
They drove for a few minutes in silence.
Finally, Brayden pulled the car over by
the side of the road.
He reached
across her body, his muscular shoulder brushing her breasts momentarily.
And then he was opening the glove box and
pulling out a dark, long piece of cloth.
Immediately, Lanie’s heart started to
hammer in her chest.
“What’s that?”
“I think you can see what it is,” he
said.
“Is that a blindfold?” she asked, her
voice beginning to shake.
“Take off your seatbelt and turn so your
back is towards me,” he said.
“And
then I’m going to put this on, and we’ll be ready for the next phase.”
“What next phase?” she said, stalling for
time.
“Turn around and you’ll find out.”
“Do I have to be blindfolded?” she said,
feeling more and more stressed.
Being blindfolded was terrifying.
Blackness.
Not being able to see what was
happening.
Completely out of
control.
“Do as I say,” Brayden told her, and this
time his tone was clear.
Anymore of
a fuss, and she risked ruining everything.
Whatever he had planned, this was a part
of it.
Lanie felt herself starting to shake and
shiver as she imagined being in darkness.
I
can’t do this
, she
thought.
Whatever
it is, I can’t do it.
And then he was placing the blindfold
over her eyes.
