“How I do what?”

“Capture the emotions. The desire. It’s so raw.”

His smile spread slowly across his face and he set his
empty espresso cup down. “Thank you. That is a compliment.”

“So,” I looked away from the intensity of his gaze. Oh God.
Why was this so hard? “How does it work?”

“How does what work?”

“Your sessions? How do you do it? What happens?”

“Are you and John interested in a session?” He emptied the
bottle of wine into my glass and then put the empty bottle in the cupboard
beneath the sink.

I was about to take another sip of wine, but I stopped
myself. If I wasn’t careful, I was going to be tipsy in the middle of the
afternoon. “No. It’s John’s birthday coming up. I want to do something for him,
something special.”

“Ah.” Martin nodded. “Let me see what I have available.” He
picked up his phone and began scrolling, looking, I assumed, for his
appointments. While he scrolled with one hand, he flipped the leather book open
to the last page and pointed. “These are my rates.”

His tone had changed. He was all business now and my ardor
felt somehow let down. I looked at the rate sheet in the back of the book and
then, without thinking, drank half a glass of wine.

Holy shit! Seriously? The guy charged a fortune! But then,
he was, ‘zee best’. I had to suppress the urge to giggle.

“When is John’s birthday?”

“Next Thursday.”

Martin made a grunting sound and I looked up at him. He
appeared a little fuzzy all of a sudden. Oops. Maybe that was the wine.

No more, Claire.

“I’m flying to L.A. tomorrow morning and won’t be back
until Wednesday.” He rubbed his chin. I wondered how much work it required to
always have a little bit of stubble like he had. Did his beard grow so quickly
or did he shave at night to get that appearance? I watched him stroke his jaw,
the way his hand moved, and I squeezed my knees together. Hands are my thing.
And his hands? The way he touched himself? It was very, very nice. His fingers
were long and lean with nicely shaped nails. The back of his hand was tanned
and I liked the way his veins protruded. Strong. Virile. What would those hands
feel like—?

“Claire?”

“Hmm?”

“I asked if you had time today.”

“Today?”

“Yes.”

I frowned. “Tonight?”

“No. now.”

Good thing I didn’t have any wine in my mouth, otherwise I
would have spewed again, I’m sure of it. At least white wine didn’t stain.

“But I’m not dressed.”

Martin laughed. “You appear to be dressed to me.” He
pointed down the hall toward the bedrooms. “I’ve got plenty of wardrobe items
to choose from. It’s included in the fee. Come, let me show you.”

I shook my head. “I don’t know…”

Martin stopped and looked at me. “Do you want to do this or
not. Either way is okay.” He glanced at the rate sheet still open in front of
me. His eyebrows rose. “The fees are more than you expected.”

I shook my head and then wished I hadn’t because I suddenly
felt dizzy and I thought I might tumble off my stool. “No. I mean yes, they are
high, but that’s not the problem. I mean, I’m barely wearing any make-up and I
don’t know if I’m ready.” I was thinking about my grooming. Down there.

Martin rounded the counter and came to stand directly in
front of me. He grasped my chin in that strong, virile hand of his and turned
my face this way and that studying it. I couldn’t breathe, I couldn’t blink.
His touched had turned me to jelly.

“No. No makeup. You’re a natural woman, Claire. Your beauty
should not be hidden by makeup.”

Beauty? Oh dear me, I was melting.

“Remember, these are for John. You are not trying to
impress him by being someone you are not, you are trying to show him the woman
you are, the woman he married. A desirable, natural beauty.”

I licked my lips and nodded. When he released my chin, I
gasped because I suddenly remembered how to breathe.

“What do you think, Claire. Do you want to do it or not?”

I finished my wine.
“Let’s do this.”

Praise
for PARTY OF THREE:

“PARTY
OF THREE is a ménage erotica with a slightly gritty edge…there is a strong plot
that extends beyond the erotic aspects of the story. Ms. St. Denis effectively
uses the challenges the characters faces to build the emotional bonds that
eventually unite them as a trio. I look forward to reading more stories by Ms.
St. Denis.”
