“Mi amor, I need you all the time. I have missed you. I know that you’re giving all you have to the new job. I hope that the new assistant will be able to free up some time for us. in several interviews with Bella y Paty. They have decided on one candidate that has just graduated and has new, fresh ideas.

“What I like the best is that she has all this knowledge and theory. She hasn’t learned any bad ideas or habits from any other employer. We can train, mold her to our company’s philosophy, and needs,” said Bella with a smile.

“I agree. I also like that she is real excited in working for the company, and she has done her research on our buildings and achievements,” said Paty, nodding with pleasure.

“I also think that she is the most qualified to be mi assistant,” said Jessy. “Do you want to call her and offer her the job? Maybe we can get her to start next week. That will be a tremendous help.”

“Okay, I will call after lunch and make her an offer,” said Bella as she stands to leave.

“Do you want to go to lunch with us?” asks Paty with a wicked twinkle in her ojos.
I know she has lunch with Jose Enrique.

“Amiga, you’re a brat. I will have mi lunch with mi vida, okay?” said Jessy, standing up smiling. She gathers all of her paperwork and walks out.

“See ya later after the call. I will advise you on her start date,” said Bella walking out of the conference room with Paty.

Jose Enrique walks into his office early in the morning. His cell rings, and he answers.

“Hola,” said Jose Enrique as he sits down and looks at the papers on his desk.

“Hola, Jose Enrique? It’s Gabriel Corona,” said Gabriel.

“Buenos dias, Gabriel,” said Jose Enrique. “Do you have great news for me? Will we be able to meet today?”

“Si, Jose Enrique that is why I am calling. I will be on leave in a couple of hours. I can stop by to meet with you y Ricky later this morning. Will eleven be okay?” asks Gabriel.

“Si, Gabriel, eleven is fine. We will be looking forward to meeting you,” said Jose Enrique. “Adios.”

“Okay, see ya,” said Gabriel, ending his call, enters the classroom.

Jose Enrique calls Ricky to advise him of the meeting at eleven with Gabriel. He then continues to work on reviewing the status of all of the jobs’ sites.

Jose Enrique leaves Chris a voice message. He requests his assistance in delivering some material to a job site. He wants Chris to observe and report back to him his findings. The material will be at the warehouse ready for him to deliver to the job site.

Chris enters Jose Enrique’s office. “I have some reports for you to read. There is definitely something strange going on, primo,” said Chris, and he takes a chair. “I took the material to the job site, and nobody was there to receive. I couldn’t locate your site manager. I left the material there anyway and got the guys to continue to build the brick wall. I don’t know what is going on. We need to look into this further. The reports will give you an idea of what I observed.”

“Thanks, primo, that is great, and I know that they don’t know who you are. Do you know how long your leave is for this time?” asks Jose Enrique.
I wish that Chris finally decides to work at la familia’s company. We really do need him. Chris has abilities, skills, and knowledge that we need in different areas of the construction.

“Primo, I only have until Sunday. Why do you ask? Don’t you have anybody else that can monitor those workers on the site?” asks Chris with concern for the jobs.

“We do have managers, and as you saw, they are not very responsible. I’m on their case all the time. I can only go to the field once, and, or sometimes, twice a week. I feel it’s costing us money in different levels. The jobs are taking longer than projected. The materials are not delivered or are incorrect. Sometimes, we have materials disappearing. I need someone that will be on top of monitoring and motivating the workers at the site,” said Jose Enrique with frustration and anger.

He leans back in his chair and observes his primo.
I know he will be just right. It will be something that he will enjoy. The different jobs and areas will keep him busy.

“When is your duty over? Have you thought about coming to work with la familia? We really do need you. We need your skills and knowledge, primo. You know that this is your company, right?” asks Jose Enrique, looking into his primo’s ojos.

“Primo, mi duty is over in six months. I don’t know. I really have not thought about it. I see that you really do need me. I will think about it, okay?” said Chris, looking at his primo with concern.
I can see that la familia needs me to start participating in the company. I can keep the workers on the job site motivated and have them complete the jobs on time. I can keep track of the materials and quality. I know that I can do this job. I will think about it.

“Primo, that will be great. We all will love to have you here. You are needed. I hope you decide to stay with us,” said Jose Enrique with a grin.
Yeah, mi primo will come to work with us. I know it. He will do great.

“Okay, primo, review the reports, and call me if you have any questions. Are we hanging out at the club tonight?” asks Chris standing up ready to leave. “I will see ya later. I have some errands to do.”

“Si, primo, we will see you at the club. Todos los primos will be there, as always.” He also stands up to walk with his primo to the elevator.

“I will be talking to Gabriel in a bit. We have a job proposal for demolishing. We think he will do well in that department,” said Jose Enrique. He is looking at Chris to see his reaction.

“Primo, Gabriel specializes in demolishing and explosives. He is well-qualified and has years of experience. If you need someone that can run the Demolishing Department, Gabriel will be a good choice,” said Chris. He looks at his primo.
Gabriel is one of mi best SEAL buds. He will also be mi hermano
, thought Chris. “You know, primo, that he will be familia soon. He is leaving the Navy for Erica. He is a good hombre and has the knowledge, skill, and experience.”

“Si, I know primo. I just wanted to get your feedback. I know that you probably know him better than anyone else,” said Jose Enrique. He smiles muy contento that Gabriel will be a great demolishing manager.

“Yeah, I know. I’m glad that we are able to offer him a job. It will make Erica muy feliz,” said Chris. “Besides, Erica is also part of la familia’s company.”

“Yeah, it will also be good to have someone working here that is representing Erica. Erica will always want to teach,” said Jose Enrique with a smile.

A few minutes to eleven, his secretary Ms. Jones advises Jose Enrique that Gabriel has arrived.

“Mr. De La Cruz, your eleven o’clock appointment is here, Mr. Corona,” said Ms. Jones with a smile.
Geez, this man is so handsome.

“Ms. Jones, I need you to escort him to my office,” said Jose Enrique with a smile.
Yeah, I need to get Ricky.
Jose Enrique calls Ricky to get him to come to his office.

“Primo, Gabriel is here to discuss our job proposal. Can you please come to mi office?” asks Jose Enrique with excitement.

“Si, primo, I will be there in a few,” said Ricky, getting up with pleasure.

“Yes, Mr. De La Cruz,” said Ms. Jones. She stands up and walks to the door. “Mr. Corona, can you please follow me?”

“Of course,” answers Gabriel standing up to follow the receptionist. They walked down the hall, turn the corner, they enter Jose Enrique’s office.

Jose Enrique stands up with a huge smile at Gabriel. He walks around his desk greeting him with a hug and a slap on his back. “Nice to see you, Gabriel,” said Jose Enrique. He then turns to look at his secretary. “Thanks, Ms. Jones.”

“Would you like anything else, sir?” asks Ms. Jones with a smile, waiting for further instructions.

“Gabriel will you like something to drink?” asks Jose Enrique, smiling and waiting for his response.

“I’m good. Thanks,” answers Gabriel looking around his office.
Real nice office
, he thought.

“Nothing for now, Ms. Jones, thanks,” said Jose Enrique to his secretary with a smile, sitting down.

Ms. Jones smiles and walks out of the office.

Ricky walks into the office just after Ms. Jones exits. Ricky went over to Gabriel and gives him a hug. “Hola primo, nice to see you are able to come today,” said Ricky with a huge smile on his cara.

“Si, it turns out that our instructor has some of his own personal errands and decided not to take the training into the weekend. It is a great help for me. Mis padres are coming over mañana to talk to your tios. I also wanted to discuss the interesting job proposal with you, primos,” said Gabriel, and he looks at Jose Enrique and Ricky with a big smile.

Ricky walks over to the door and closes it. He turns around and said with a smile, “Why don’t we sit down and discuss the job proposal?”

They sat down on the deep rich burgundy leather arm chairs that are across from the matching leather sofa in the sitting area. Jose Enrique had this sitting area arranged by the entire glass window, overlooking the city and ocean.

“Si, primo, we are real excited in having you work for la familia especially since you are part of la familia,” said Ricky, regarding Gabriel.

“Si, primo, we know that you are qualified for this position. You will be the demolishing manager. You will have a crew to work for you. You will handle everything that is needed to get the job done. We want you to review the crew we have now, and select the ones that you feel are qualified to work on your team. You will be responsible for your team and all of the materials and equipment your team will need to complete the jobs,” said Jose Enrique, and he is looking at Gabriel and observing his reaction.

“We know that you have the experience, knowledge, skills, and your business degree that designate you for this position,” said Ricky with a smile.

“Chris was here this morning, running an errand for la familia. He highly recommended you for this position. He said that you were the man for this job,” said Jose Enrique with a big smile.
I feel that Gabriel will fit in perfectly with la familia and the company’s goals.

“I see that you have already looked into mi background. I really appreciate that you recognize mi abilities. The job sounds like it will be ideal for mi experience. I do feel that we can work together and accomplish great job projects. I will be available until after mi duty with the Navy expires,” said Gabriel, and he looks real feliz at the primos.

I’m especially feliz that mi SEAL bud Chris is also mi hermano. I know that he was hurt and pissed off at me, but I also know that he is still mi hermano. I can also feel and see that I am marrying into a wonderful, strong familia. I just love it,

“Primo, I’m glad that you will accept our job proposal. We will give Bella the details of your start date as soon as you advise us. You will be starting off as an experienced manager. I know you will be very pleased with the salary,” said Jose Enrique with a smile.

“We also want to remind you that as Erica’s esposo, you will also have shares in the company stock that is part of Erica’s,” said Ricky with a smile.

“Gabriel, this means that you will also be part owner of la familia’s company along with Erica,” said Jose Enrique with a grin.

I am so feliz that Erica’s esposo will be able to participate in la familia’s company on her behalf
, thought Jose Enrique.

“Wow, I never realized that the job offer had so many benefits. I can understand your concern and acknowledgment of mi position as Erica’s esposo. I will always put all mi efforts in making Erica muy feliz and deliver all I have in mi work performance with la familia in every thought-out decision,” said Gabriel with a deeply felt appreciation for what is being offered.
