Grant's steely gray eyes searched her face. Kali sneaked a warm glance from under her partially closed eyes.

"Is moving in an option?"

"Hell, yeah. House guests are work. Partners share the load."

"We do make a pretty good team, don't we?"

"Damn right we do.

"Then partners it is."

Stan finally spoke up. "About damn time, too."

They all laughed.

Grant squeezed Kali's hand. She smiled. Her future looked warm and bright for the first time in over a decade.
