I heard a brief scream from somewhere below me and grabbed the woman's arm.

I demanded, "What the hell was that?"

She smiled, "Spellbound caters to some different tastes.  One of them involves whips."

"Wait, is this legal?"

"Of course it is.  I'm not the one to speak to about it; I'm one of Lady Celeste's."

"One of her what?  You work for her, right?"

"You could say that."

"So what exactly is your position?"

"Whatever she needs of me."

"You're free to leave though, correct?"

"I suppose so.  I don't exactly belong in their world though, do I?"  She gestured toward the outer wall, apparently referring to the non-mutant community.

We arrived at a back room to find a large number of mutants there.  Most were streaming out the door, although they moved aside for the small woman and me to enter.

A man with pure black skin was lying Lady Rapture down on a couch.  She was unconscious, as were two men.  Others were injured, but walked out regardless.

One remained and filled in the results of the fight.  Apparently, the mutants had been successful at keeping the majority of the red men in the building.

The mutant was in awe at Hellshock's power.  The way he described the hero the power of his lightning was unbelievably strong.  I hadn't gotten quite the same impression in the fight against the pirates of the alien startship K'Vor, but I thought perhaps this mutant hadn't been in many fights.

Lady Celeste thanked me for staying at Spellbound.  Lady Nocturne apparently wasn't pleased that Lady Celeste liked me, or even bothered to spend much time talking with me.

I left before Rapture awoke, but as I didn't see Black Tiger there I figured he'd rejoined his hero friends.

After I'd left and taken to the sky I called Rayna to ensure that we got the instigator of all this - she verified that we had, so I took to flying over Metrocity in search of new adventure.

Crazed mutants.  Alien pirates.  A horde of mutant bricks.  I wondered what would come next to Metrocity.

Chapter 35 - Free Ride

Borgz’ Viewpoint

The so-called heroes ripped my arms off, but I discovered that it didn't cause me any pain to lose a limb.  Then they ripped the legs off and I shifted into one of the small robots hidden in the lower legs.

I debated on running off, but biding my time turned out to be fortunate.  The bricks stood around and talked for a while, but then the massive Big Man picked up my pieces and put my exoskeleton into an SUV of some type.

I hopped out of the exoskeleton's compartment and onto the floor of the storage area.  Then I shifted into the vehicle.  With all of the exoskeleton inside the heroes walked away and didn't come back.

When everyone's attention was on the batch of red brutes being gathered up I took the opportunity to simply drive away.  Fortunately, no one noticed that the SUV was lacking a driver with all the lights flashing in the area.  I couldn't take a chance on driving the block over to my truck, so I drove a few miles away until I found a tow truck not being watched.

I popped the back of the SUV while facing the back of the tow truck, shifted into my small robot and moved over onto the tow truck, and then shifted into the truck and used the hook to remove my exoskeleton from the police vehicle before I drove off.

I used the car stereo speakers to laugh as I drove away....
