“Well, I talked with Lilly.
According to her we were very helpful in making her friend forget that fucker,
Jeff. Also, I’m heading over to her workplace to stake my claim.” Nate gave him
the name and directions to the building along with the floor she’d be working.

“How did you get all that?”
Kev
asked.

“Being nice
with her friend.
You can either
keep your head up your ass or I’ll meet you there. I’m nearly there myself, and
I’m looking forward to seeing the competition.”

“I can’t just leave.”

Rolling his eyes, Nate
pulled over to the curb. “Yeah, you can. Look, whatever is eating you up, get
over it. I don’t blame you for anything. I love you. You’re my brother, and no
matter what, you mean the world to me.”

Nate hung up, took a deep
breath, and pulled back onto the road. He hoped to God
Kev
took the hint. If he didn’t then Nate was telling Mom and Dad about his
addiction to working all the time. It was a low blow, but when it came to
Kev
he was tired of fighting his brother.

****

Kev
stared at the phone wondering what the hell he should
do. The memory of Heather was still in his mind, and he wished his guilt would
fade away. The guilt ate him up like a disease that refused to go away. His
brother didn’t understand. He’d never understand what he went through or what
he did.

Never before had they kept
secrets until Heather.

Staring down at the folder
in front of him
Kev
didn’t see the numbers or the
facts on the page. All he felt was his need to sink into Kate’s willing cunt
once again. She’d been a dream, and no matter how hard he tried he couldn’t
stop thinking about her. Kate was perfection. Nate would claim her without him.
He knew his brother would do that. Fuck, if it wasn’t for his past he’d do the
exact same thing.

Go and be with them. You know you want to.

Slamming the file shut, he
reached for another one. When none of the words made sense he put them away and
stormed out of his office. A couple of the Saturday staff glanced up at him,
shocked. He never left his office and even got his lunch served to him there.

He glanced at the clock and
saw it had been twenty minutes since the phone call.

You’re going to die alone.

Part of him deserved to die
alone for what he did, while another part of him wanted to move on.

Cursing out loud, he grabbed
his jacket from his office and made his way out of the building.

Kev
didn’t bother with his car. He headed straight in the
direction of where Kate’s building was. The walk took some time. There was no
clear sign of his brother there. When the receptionist did a double-take he
knew Nate was already causing trouble.

Going straight for the
elevator he pressed the button for Kate’s floor. Tapping his foot impatiently
on the floor,
Kev
glanced at his watch.

He had no idea how much time
Nate had on him. The elevator opened, and he stepped out. He checked over the
people working and spotted his brother kissing Kate’s neck next to the copying
machine.

Kate looked sexy even in her
work clothes. They were causing a spectacle, even if Nate had them tucked in
the back corner and away from prying eyes. Several women whispered behind their
hands. His first instinct was to run from what he saw. Nate clearly had this in
hand, yet he stood watching.

The whispers unnerved him.
He socialized in this world. They knew everything about him.

No, they don’t. They know what you want them to know.

Nate is the only one who knows me.

Turning back to the elevator
he watched the doors close. His escape was gone. He glanced back. Kate giggled
as Nate rubbed his cock against her ass.

Kev
wanted her desperately. Walking away wasn’t an
option. Taking a step closer
Kev
went toward them.

“What are you doing working
on a Saturday?”
Kev
asked.

Both of them gasped and
looked up. Nate recovered first. “I knew I’d gotten your attention.”

“What can I say? A beautiful
woman is hard to refuse.”

“I know that feeling all too
well. How about it, Kate? Do you want to show me some loving?”

Kate looked between them.
The rest of the company faded. “I thought this was a one- time deal. Lilly gave
you permission to come here, didn’t she?”

“Lilly gave me the address.
I don’t take permission from anyone, Siren. I do what the fuck I want, and
right now I want you, on your back at my place.”

She gasped. Her face was
flushed with arousal. She looked so damn tempting.
Kev’s
cock thickened in response. He wanted to sink inside her tight heat and never
leave.

“I can’t just leave.”

“How about we stay until
you’re finished?” Nate asked.

Kate looked nervous.
Kev
noticed she kept glancing over his shoulder. The only
thing behind him was the elevator.
Whom
was she afraid
of seeing?

“Haven’t you got something
to do? I’m boring to watch.”

Kev
closed the distance between them. “Nothing about you
is boring. It will be a pleasure to watch you.” He kissed her lips. The light
brush was not as appealing as claiming her, but it would have to do.

“I’ll be thinking about last
night, Siren. How you felt wrapped around my cock, your ass and pussy. I’ve got
more than enough images to keep me entertained.”

There was no chance of her
getting rid of them.
Kev
followed her to her desk. He
took a seat and watched as she sat down. Her hands shook as she picked up a
folder. Nate flopped down on the seat watching her as well. The heat in his
brother’s eyes couldn’t be mistaken for anything other than pure lust.

Chapter Twelve

Kate couldn’t work, not with
Nate and
Kev
so close to her. When Nate had shown up
unannounced she had nearly had a heart attack. It was bad enough that he
strolled in looking all dark and dangerous, with his tattoos peeking from
beneath his t-shirt, but then there was that devilish smirk he had directed
right at her. The whispers from her gossiping and catty co-workers started
instantly, but it had kicked up a notch when he decided to put his hands all
over her. She had never been one for PDA, but Nate had a way of instantly making
her melt at the first touch. It had only taken seconds before she was arching
into his touch like some kind of schoolgirl being kissed for the first time.
Thoughts of Jeff walking in had vanished as soon as Nate pulled her into one of
the darkened corners. Fortunately, Nate hadn’t chosen the time when Jeff and
the board members were present. She had a sinking feeling that it wouldn’t have
stopped him from touching her one way or another.

Then
walked in
Kev
.

Everything had faded away
when he made his presence known. The damn whispers had increased, as if Kate
needed that, but for the first time in her life she tried to push her worries
away. It had been no such luck, not when Jeff would most likely show up at any
minute. Kate didn’t need him to see two men all over her, not when she was
already having a hard enough time working in the same office as he did.

“This really isn’t
necessary, guys.” She looked over at Nate then
Kev
.
She dropped her voice and said, “I can meet you back at your place.” She looked
at
Kev
. “Or yours.” Their identical grins made
butterflies flutter in her belly and her nipples bead. She was already wet from
Nate’s antics, ones she would probably hear about for weeks to come from her
co-workers.

A ding sounded at the
elevator’s approach, and her heart sped up. She knew, without looking over her
shoulder, that Jeff was back from his meeting. She really didn’t want any
trouble, and knowing Jeff he would use that condescending tone and his
self-righteous attitude. The office fell silent, and it was then that she knew
without a doubt Jeff was back.

The sound of Jeff’s voice
was like nails on a chalkboard to her, and she gritted her teeth. The sound of
his heavy footsteps came closer, and she dropped her head and started rifling
through her papers. The footsteps stopped, and she knew Jeff was by her desk.
The hairs on the back of her neck stood on end, and the tension increased.

“I didn’t know you had
visitors, Kate. Why don’t you introduce us?” She looked over her shoulder at
Jeff. His dark hair was slicked back from his face, and the grey suit he wore
screamed aristocratic money. Now that she was no longer in a relationship with
him she couldn’t see what she had ever seen in him. His forehead was too wide,
his nose too beak-like, and his lips thin and severe. Had she been so desperate
for affection that she settled for an unattractive, wealthy man who had a penchant
for treating her like shit?

The last
thing she wanted to do was give Jeff the satisfaction of knowing anything
personal in her life, but she certainly didn’t want to start shit with him at
their place of work.

“Nate,
Kev
,
this is Jeff Hemming.” Kate was not going to tell them this was the same man,
her ex, who had caused her self-esteem to be shot. For the entire duration of the
relationship she had felt so self-conscious of her appearance, always trying
harder to become as thin as he wanted. She was never good enough, but maybe she
had deserved everything he dished out? She had stayed with him for that long,
taking his shit when she should have kneed him in the balls.

Nate and
Kev
stood, their presence making Jeff look like a little boy. Compared to them her
ex was frail and weak looking. That had a smile forming on her lips.

Jeff stuck his hand out, but
neither man took the offered gesture. After a clearly uncomfortable moment for
Jeff he pulled his hand back and shoved it in his pocket.
“So,
your Kate’s friend?”

“We’re more than friends,
not that it’s any of your business,” Nate said. A flush spread over Jeff’s face,
and Kate could see the anger start to rise. Jeff was used to getting his way,
and not have others
undermine
him, especially in front
of a lot of people.

“Well, I’m sure Kate has a
lot of work to do, and we really don’t allow visitors to loiter with employees
during work hours.” Jeff turned a shade redder as he looked between Nate and
Kev
.

“Nate,
Kev
,
I really do have a lot to do. How about we meet up in a few hours?” Neither man
looked at her for several long seconds. It was like watching a fight about to
happen. The testosterone and adrenalin were high. There was no doubt in her
mind Nate and
Kev
knew about her past with Jeff. She
was going to kill Lilly for opening her mouth. No doubt her friend had told
them far more then they needed to know.

Finally, as if whatever
aggression-filled trance they were in eased, they both turned and looked at
her. A beat of silence passed before they moved so they were a foot from her.
The scent of them filled her senses. Clean sweat and a hint of spicy cologne
washed through her and had her instantly aroused. She forgot all about her
surroundings, Jeff included, as they stared down at her. The next sequence of
events happened in slow motion. Nate snaked his hand behind her neck, pulled
her forward, and dipped his head down to capture her mouth. The kiss was hot
and wet and had her aching in seconds flat. He broke the kiss, but they weren’t
nearly done yet.
Kev
wrapped his arm around her waist
and hauled her up against his suit-covered body. He was all hard muscle, and
she felt wholly feminine. He took her mouth just as possessively as Nate did,
and when his tongue slipped inside she couldn’t stop the moan that left her. Their
tastes were so similar but different on their own as well.
Kev
pulled away, and she panted as she looked between Nate and
Kev
.
Their expressions had to match hers: needy, sex-charged, and wanting more. They
gave her one last lingering kiss.

“What time do you get off,
baby?”
Kev
murmured, still impossibly close to her
mouth.

“Three.” She swallowed
roughly.

“We’ll meet you downstairs
then.” Nate leaned in so his mouth brushed along the shell of her ear. “Then we’re
really going to show you what it’s like with us, Siren. Last night was just a
sample.” He kissed her ear, and both men turned to leave. They glared down at
Jeff and passed him. Jeff had a stunned look on his face, as did half of the
office.

Dammit, you need to get control of the situation.
It was bad enough she couldn’t seem to get a grip
around Nate and
Kev
, but doing this kind of shit at
work was liable to get her fired, and that was something she couldn’t afford.
For a suspended moment Jeff just stared at her. The red hue that covered his
face had lessened some, but Kate surmised he was probably more in shock that
Nate and
Kev
had all but staked some kind of claim on
her in front of everyone.
