"This
is hard," she told him with a catch in her throat.

"I
know," he told her softly, coming inside the room. He took his
son from her and placing a blanket on his shoulder, he made sure he
burped him, slowly rubbing his back. Rosa stood up; her eyes glowing
with love as she looked at the men in her life; it was such a
wonderful feeling and she felt like she was the most fortunate woman
in the entire world.

She came
over and placed her arms around them both. "I have the two
handsomest men in the entire world." She kissed first her son,
then her husband, her lips lingering on his.

"You're
biased," he murmured, teasing her tongue with his, causing the
desire to spiral through her body.

"Of
course I am," she told him huskily, catching his lip between her
teeth and then letting go as Michael Phillip started to squirm. "I
am ready."

Joan
Hurley was waiting for them outside when they pulled up and she came
over quickly to take her grandson out of the car seat in the back;
crooning as the child looked up at her with his big ebony eyes. "We
are going to have so much fun aren't we my love?" she crooned to
the baby as they went inside the house. "I know this is hard for
you honey but please have the reassurance that apart from you and
John, he will be getting the best care ever."

"I
know mama and thanks again." Rosa told her, placing the bag
inside the room they had fixed up complete with a cot for John
Phillip.

"Thanks
Joan, we really appreciate this," John gave his mother in law a
brief hug.

"It's
my grandson, please." She said airily with a grin. "Go,
your son will be okay."

John had
to practically tear her away from him and bundled her inside the car.
She was silent for part of the way to the restaurant and John kept
glancing at her in concern. "Are you sure you are ready to come
back?"

She
looked at him, very close to tears and John pulled the car over at
the side of the road and released the clasp of the seat belt and
turned towards her.

"I
know I have to go back but it's so hard to leave him," she told
him tearfully as she reached out to him. He pulled her into his arms,
a smile curving his lips. She had been so sure she had wanted a child
because of her ambition to be a restaurant owner and now she could
not bear to tear herself away from him.

"Anything
you want to do is okay with me," he told her quietly as she
buried her face into his chest.

"I
will be all right," she told him with a sniff. "Just give
me a minute."

They
went on their way shortly after that and when they got to the
restaurant to her surprise there was a huge welcome back banner that
had the tears coming again as her entire staff gathered in the eating
area to welcome her back.

John had
hired someone to do the accounting and she had met him the other day
and there was also a new wait staff, making it a total of four. The
chef Alfonso gave her a tight hug and told her that it was good to
have her back even though she was very bossy.

Rosa got
into the swing of things quickly and she was kept very busy for the
most part. The office had been extended and John had removed her
scarred desk and replaced it with a brand new mahogany one.

It was a
Monday and that meant that the business crowd came in fast and
furious during the lunch hour. Rosa made sure that the waiting period
was not too long. Her familiar customers greeted her and welcomed her
back, asking about the baby and she had to take out her phone and
show them pictures of her son.

She
never got over the fact that she and John worked so well together. He
gave her space to do her job and she did the same for him. There was
also the introduction of organic fruit drinks that had become a
surprising success.

“Tired?”
he asked her as he saw her rubbing the small of her back at one point
while they were in the office.

“A
little bit,” she admitted with a slight smile. “And my
breasts are filling up with milk as we speak.” She told him,
running a hand over them to ease the tension. She had worn a dark
green silk shirt and her maternity pad in case of leakage. She had
expressed some milk and left it at her mother’s for Michael
Phillip.

She
looked across the room to see her husband staring at her, his eyes
taking in her movement.

“You’re
making it hard for me,” he told her huskily. “Literally,”
he added.

“Behave
yourself, there are staff around,” she told him huskily.

“I
can’t believe myself around you, you know that.” He said
softly coming over to her desk. He had been preparing the schedule
for the week but he put it aside.”You’re a distraction.”

“Maybe
I should work somewhere else,” she told him; her throat dry at
the look on his face. They had not had sex in so long that she had
been feeling the pent up desire between both of them that had been
threatening to explode.

“I
don’t want you to go anywhere else,” he murmured, lifting
her chin to look at her face. His lips descended and he captured her
mouth with his. Rosa melted against him and her arms went around his
neck, her mouth opening under his hungrily.

John
pulled her against him with a groan, his tongue probing inside her
mouth. He was raging inside with need for her and he'd had to put his
emotions under tight reins even though they had been doing what they
could to salve the thirst.

It was
the ringing of the office phone that had them springing apart. With a
heavy sigh he went towards the phone leaving Rosa trying to tamp down
the fire he had lit inside her.

There
was a disturbance in the eating area and after making sure her
clothes were okay she went to check it out.

The day
flew by quickly and to her surprise she was able to get right back
into the flow of things; calling her mother only twice to find out
how her son was doing. John had to go out in the afternoon to check
out a potential supplier so she was busy with the paperwork.

Hayley
stopped by around three in the afternoon; she was just leaving work
and she had a burning issue she wanted to discuss with Rosa.

“You
look good,” her friend said abruptly, pulling up a chair in
front of Rosa’s desk. She had grabbed a piece of lemon meringue
pie from the kitchen with Alfonso protesting half heartedly. “I
think Alfonso is a little in love with you.” Rosa teased her.

“I
think Alfonso is in love with all the female species,” Hayey
replied dryly, digging in and tasting the delicious pastry.

“Are
you okay?” Rosa asked her curiously, staring at her friend
closely.

Hayley
shrugged and put aside the plate with the half eaten pie. “I
think Jon is seeing someone.” She stared unseeingly out the
window. It was a beautiful summer day and they had had rain earlier
and the smell of flowers blooming was rife on the air.

“Oh
Hayley, no,” Rosa protested, leaning forward; the girl who was
usually so brave looked totally down cast. “Are you sure?”

“He
has been coming home in the wee hours of the morning and I can’t
seem to pin him down to discuss us having a baby,” Hayley
responded, her bottom lip trembling.

“Is
this all because of Michael Phillip?” Rosa asked her shrewdly.
Ever since her son had been born, Hayley had become obsessed with
having a baby of her own and Rosa suspected that was the root of the
problem.

“I
know what I know, Rosa,” the girl said impatiently, standing up
abruptly and starting to pace the length of the room. “He is
not coming home, claiming it's work but I strongly doubt it. There is
no way someone can put in so many hours at work and have this to come
home to,” she sweep her hands down her body; indicating its
allure.

Rosa
laughed in spite of the seriousness of the discussion. “You are
right,” she said with a straight face. “He’s a fool
if he’s looking somewhere else.”

“Oh
Rosa, what if he really is looking elsewhere?” she plopped back
down on the chair with a sigh; her beautiful face serious and a
little sad and it struck Rosa that with John she had never had to
wonder if John was seeing anyone, she was absolutely sure that he was
totally committed to her.

“Listen
to me Hayley,” Rosa said earnestly, leaning forward in her seat
and taking her friend’s hands in hers. “You know we have
been friends for a long time and you know I would not condone your
husband seeing someone else; but you want to make sure and you want
to sit down with him; even if you have to lock him inside the bedroom
and find out what is really going on with him before you start making
yourself crazy by thinking all sorts of things. Get the facts and
then go from there; it might just be a simple explanation.”

“Long
speech from a newly married woman,” her friend said wryly,
gripping the hands holding hers. “I guess you’re right. I
always seem to get off track with this thinking of mine.” She
sighed. “But if he is Rosa; he’s going to regret it big
time.”

“I
am sure it will work out Hayley,” Rosa told her friend softly.
“You love each other and it will work out.”

“Who
would have thought that you would be the one to have it all?”
Hayley said with a laugh and a shake of her head. “I set you up
on a blind date that you did not want to go on and now look at you.
Your man is always by your side and I have never seen a man look at a
woman the way John looks at you and for that I am afraid I envy you.
You have something wonderful and I hope you always remember that.”

Even
after her friend had left the words kept reverberating inside her
head: “You have something wonderful and I hope you always
remember that,” and she was right; her husband was something
out of a fairy tale and sometimes she had to pinch herself and wonder
if she was dreaming. She had noticed that he was always putting her
needs ahead of hers all the time and she need to show him how much
she appreciated him.

They
picked up Michael Phillip at seven thirty and her mother told them he
had been such a good baby that she barely knew he was there. He was
falling asleep by the time they got home and she barely had time to
feed him before he nodded off to sleep. She left Michael in the
nursery making sure he was asleep and told him that she was going to
take a much needed shower.

She made
the preparations carefully. She knew her husband would be spending a
little time watching his son sleep and probably go into the kitchen
to make them some tea as he usually did.

She
poured bat oil in along with some fragrant body wash that smelled
like roses on a high summer day and took a leisurely bath, then she
used her special cream all over her body and pinned up her thick hair
on top of her head before slipping on a black silk peignoir she had
bought a few days ago and made her way to the kitchen where she could
hear him tinkering about making tea. He had taken off his shoes and
the dress shirt and was wearing a white under shirt and his pants.

He
turned as she came inside the room and his eyebrows rose as he saw
what she had on. “You smell good enough to eat,” he
murmured, putting away the tea cups as she came over to him.

“Michael
Phillip asleep?” she asked him, standing in front of him.

“Out
like a light,” he murmured, her scent embracing him.

“Good,”
she murmured huskily. “I want no interruptions for what I have
planned.”

“What
do you have planned?” his breath caught inside his throat as
she reached up and slide her fingers through his hair, her body
pressing against his.

“You’ll
see,” she told him mysteriously. “Have I told you how
much I have the best husband in the entire world?”

“Not
since this week,” he told her hoarsely.

“I
have,” she took his hand and led him towards the bedroom.

“The
tea,” he said weakly following her.

“I
have something better in mind.” She told him.

She
undressed him and told him to lie on the bed while she went inside
the bathroom and fill a basin with warm soapy water and a sponge. The
light from the bedside lamp threw his naked body into stark relief
and his erection was on proud display.

“What
are you doing?” he whispered hoarsely.

“I
am free to make love totally now. I have been given the go ahead by
the doctor and I wanted to surprise you.” She told him,
shrugging out of the thin wispy material and standing before him
entirely naked. His breath caught inside his throat and he was hard
put to stay still. He could not believe his erection could get harder
but it had taken on a life of its own and he wanted to plunge it
inside her, something he had not done in what seemed like ages.

“Come
here,” he demanded hoarsely.

“Not
yet,” Rosa told him firmly. “And please behave.”

“You
are asking the impossible,” he said with a short laugh, his
hands itching to grab hold of her and place her not too gently on his
penis so that her warmth could wrap around him like a warm towel.

“Please
John,” she pleaded.

He
conceded with a sigh and pressed his head back on the pillows,
following her every move. Rosa placed the sponge inside the water and
squeezed out most of it and then she climbed into bed beside him,
using the sponge to wipe down his body, starting at his face and he
closed his eyes as she gently wiped his face then headed towards his
chest, lingering on his nipples which had become as hard as pebbles.
He shifted restlessly underneath her ministering hands but Rosa
refused to be hurried and she drifted down to his belly button and
then on to his pubic area. When she reached his shaft, he had to
clench his teeth to keep from crying out as she used the sponge to
wipe his penis slowly, up and down and then his testicles and back
again. She put aside the sponge and used her tongue to lick him
tentatively before putting him inside her mouth.
