“Boo,” a voice snapped at her and she knew it wasn’t someone from the school because they all called her Betty, seriously she needed to change her damn name. But she didn’t listen and she squirmed and hit until two of the hands grabbed her good shoulder and shook her a little.

“Boo, goddammit, stop it.” She paused and looked up and saw Kink standing there, then she looked over her shoulder and saw Magnum who had blood running down his face from his nose.

She grimaced and instantly said, “Oh my God, I am sorry. So sorry,” she whispered and went limp.

Thank goodness Magnum kept a hold of her, not that it was hard, she was like a hundred pounds soaking wet. Shit. He thought,
this was not how he wanted her in his arms again
.

“What’s this all about, baby?” Kink asked softly. “I mean, I know we startled you, but this was extreme.”

Magnum set her down gently, pulling his arms from around her but holding her waist to keep her steady. The throb in her shoulder was already hurting from the therapy, and this, let’s just say, she needed her meds like stat. She groaned and held her arm.

“Come on,” Magnum said and moved her toward her car.

“No,” she said, quickly looking over Kink’s shoulder and whispering, “He is here.”

“Who?” Kink said with a growl as he turned around and looked at the parking lot. He couldn’t tell if anything or anyone was out of place. He had never been here before, but no one seemed to have even looked at them. Wow, that was a little fucked up, it was broad daylight, and they were standing with a small female and she had been fighting them off, and yet no one had even came to help. What the fuck?

“Him, he was right…” she whispered and looked around him. Shit, he was gone. “He is gone.”

Magnum swung her up into his arms and began stalking to her car. She saw their motorcycles parked next to hers, which meant the guy had to have seen them show up. The stranger hadn’t left until she had been struggling with the guys. She opened her mouth to protest, but Magnum looked down at her with a scary sexy stare that she knew meant, don’t piss him off, so she shut her mouth and just went along with it. What did she care, she needed to get out of here anyway.

Kink stood next to her baby and stared at it with a frown. Their bikes were parked right by it and when Magnum put her down, she moved to get into her car, but Magnum stopped her. “Yeah, baby, that is totally not happening.”

Boo frowned and Kink leaned his long arms over the roof of her car, and yeah he could lean on the roof since she drove a Mini Cooper. “Um, sweetheart, I hate to tell you this, but someone put your car in the dryer and it shrunk.”

Boo rolled her eyes and fought grinning at Kinks humor. “Gimme my keys.”

“No, you already had some guy giving you a warning, and you obviously were freaked out when we showed up, you thought we were going to hurt you. We are done with this; you are coming with us back to the compound until we can figure this whole thing out. Kink will drive your little clown car back, but you are on the back of my bike,” Magnum said firmly.

Boo’s eyes narrowed and she said, “Um no, I have errands to run, and then I am going to go home and take my pain meds and just veg in front of the TV. I am not going on the back of anyone’s bike.”

Kink laughed loudly and she turned to look at him. “Sorry, sweetheart,” he said. “I really thought you said no to Magnum.”

“I did,” Boo said and lifted her head up high. “I have a life, and it doesn’t include you or the club. I made a decision, that part of my life is over. From now on, I will be working toward my degree and building a life by myself.”

She said this so firmly that both men knew she meant it. For some reason she had it in her head she actually had a choice in this, and Magnum was ready to laugh out loud, but that would piss her off too much. She had no idea who she was dealing with, because the men of the Ops Warriors were what many women would call a ‘man’s man’. They were gruff, sexy, determined, rough around the edges, and when they found a woman they wanted, there was no holding them back. Magnum and Kink had claimed Boo in their mind, therefore she was theirs, and they were going to make sure she knew it, come what may.

Kink shook his head and then said, “Sweetheart, you are just not getting this. You are one of us, and we take care of our own. Bic said you were a Lady—”

“No, I am not,” Boo argued and then walked around to the driver’s side of the car, and held out her hand impatiently to Kink who was still smiling, which pissed her completely the fuck off, she wanted to leave, this was bullshit. “I have never been a Lady Rider; I was someone who helped out the girls for a short time. I had a skill they needed and that is it, nothing more. I have never been given a patch, or whatever. So gimme my keys so I can get out of here, I am hurting and need my meds, standing here arguing is just wasting my time.”

Kink looked at Magnum who was about ready to explode, this just didn’t happen to them. Granted they had never tried to convince a woman to be with them, women always wanted to be with them. This was totally not supposed to be this hard, the others hadn’t had it this hard, why couldn’t they have picked a woman who was compliant?

“I am not going to argue about this,” Magnum said and glared at Boo, who was shaking her head. “Get on the back of my bike.”

“No,” Boo said and held out her hand. “Gimme my keys!”

“Boo,” Magnum said sternly. “I am not joking, get on the back of my bike and we will decide all this when we get somewhere safe, standing out here we are too wide open.”

Boo looked around the campus and shrugged. “I don’t care, this is a campus not a club party, I am safe here. That guy didn’t come anywhere near the buildings; he was just trying to rattle me. Well he did, mission accomplished, I will make sure I am paying more attention to men who may be following me. But I live in a gated apartment building, so I know no one can get in there, the lady who manages the building is strict with visitors. Now, gimme my keys and let me get home.”

Kink sighed and looked at Magnum, who was clearly torn. The club was on lockdown, and the only reason they had allowed the two of them out this time was because of Boo. Earlier, Magnum had needed the break so they’d ridden to the lookout and they’d been rightfully bitched out about leaving the compound when they returned. However, with Bic upset about what was going on with their girl, helped curtail the ass chewing, plus they had been done with the waiting. But they had to get back, shit was going down and every single time one of them let their guard down, shit got real. They were sick of it. Creed was ready to make a statement to anyone who wanted to fuck with the Ops Warriors again. Their compound was sitting right on the gateway to Mexico, there were going to be a lot of people who tried to knock them out of the area, but Creed and the others were more than ready to deal with this head on.

However, they needed to make sure that everyone was safe, especially the old ladies. They weren’t messing with this, things could get messy, especially since they had no idea who they were dealing with. So far they weren’t sure, they had an idea, but they needed facts. Creed and Fork asked all the guys to keep this shit quiet.

“Boo,” Kink said softly and Magnum pressed his lips together. He was trying to keep his mouth shut for fear he would tell his woman she didn’t have a fucking choice at all, which he knew wouldn’t go over well. “You need to come in and at least talk to Bic and the other women. I think maybe there was some kind of communication problem, because they are under the assumption you are one of them, and have been one of them since the beginning.”

“Yeah, I helped them, I took the place as a nurse on the compound. But that doesn’t make me a Lady Rider,” Boo said and both of the guys looked at each other, she looked like she was hurt. She shook her head and said, “Listen, I get you all need help there, and I will give Bic’s name to a few of the other nurses I know, maybe one of them would be willing to step up and help out, but I am done. I thought about it a lot, I need to make a change in my life, and I realize the club and all that stuff is what needs to go.”

“You gotta be kidding me!” Magnum said and looked first at Kink, and then Boo.

“No, and just to be clear, hell will freeze over before I come back to the club,” Boo said quietly and then she reached up and grabbed her keys out of Kink’s hand before he knew what was going on. She went to her door and opened it and started her car. Before the guys knew it, she had driven off and they had just stood there, mostly in shock. How in the hell had this happened? How had it gotten so fucked up?

Magnum looked at Kink and ran his hand down his face and he said, “This is so fucked up.”

“Well yeah, but totally cool as well,” Kink laughed. Magnum frowned at his friend and snapped.

“How can you say that, we just got fucking bitch slapped.”

Kink laughed and then hit his friend in the shoulder. “Dude, you need to stop being so negative, she just threw down the gauntlet, man. I swear, we totally are going down in the record books.”

“What the fuck are you talking about, man?” Magnum glowered as he threw his leg over his Fatboy.

Kink followed suit and mounted his bike, straightened up and said, “Brother, didn’t you just hear? We are gonna make hell freeze over soon, shit, I am kinda thinking we need to buy some parkas as well.”

Magnum laughed and started his engine.

Chapter Three

Boo drove home in a snit, how dare they assume she would just go with them. Who did they think they were? No one asked her, shit, she was sick of it. It made her feel like when she was younger, and the stuff she endured because she didn’t speak up and say anything. She wasn’t wanted, they only used her, that was evident, especially since when she was at the hotel, none of the girls came to see her, not a one of them. This wasn’t high school or anything, but shit, she had been shot. Not like that happened every day or anything. It would have been nice for them to at least call and check on her, ask her if she wanted some chocolate or something, anything.

She needed her friends, she thought she had them, and it was a kick in the teeth when she was left to suffer on her own. That was part of the reason she made the decision to cut the club out of her life. The other part was the two men who had been guarding her. She wanted them, she had wanted them for a long time, and now she was a job to them, a burden. They were bored and therefore they were flirting with her because there was no one else around. She wouldn’t be that girl. The pathetic one who thought a relationship was something it wasn’t. So she wanted to cut them out of her life so the burn of disappoint would finally leave. Every time she saw them, it was always the same, and she couldn’t take it much more without blowing.

She was hurting, her arm felt like it was on fire again. As she climbed the stairs to her crappy apartment, she was thinking of everything she had to do while she was off in order to not fall behind in school. That was what was important. She needed to finish her degree so she could get a job and at least move out of this crappy place.

The woman who ran the building stood outside as she unlocked the gate to get into the courtyard. It may be a crappy apartment building, but like most places in San Diego, they still valued their safety. Boo looked at the older woman who was wearing a strange looking muumuu and smiled. If she were to have a best friend, she would have totally called and laughed about her attire, mostly because that was what friends did, they talked about these things. Okay, not that Boo would know, but her therapist told her a long time ago that was what real friends did.

Shit, she sounded pathetic, but she hadn’t had any time to make friends. After high school, she had gone right into nursing school. She wanted to get scholarships so she had to buckle down and get good grades. So she focused, which meant she didn’t have time to make friends. Boo hadn’t lived in the dorms, she hadn’t wanted to, mostly because she was paranoid about having a stranger for a roommate.

As she stomped up her stairs to her apartment, she wondered about Magnum and Kink. Had they gone back to the club and found another woman? One who would give them what they wanted?
Shit
, she thought and mentally slapped herself in the back of the head. She couldn’t think about that, it would lead to thinking about both of the men, and the ménages in the club that had developed. She had seen them all happen, and if truth be told, she hadn’t been freaked out by it. Love came in all shapes and sizes and everyone deserved their happy ever after.

She wanted hers too, but she had no clue how she even was gonna get it. She was shy, and she didn’t flirt with guys all that much. Heck, the one time she had thrown caution to the wind and went out to a bar with some of the girls from her class, she had looked like a spaz. She knew she had, especially when one of the girls said, ‘you look like a spaz,’ when she had tried to dance with them. See, this was why she didn’t have friends, she just didn’t fit in, at all. Boo rounded the top floor and turned, her apartment was three doors down and she looked, had her key out, and froze when she saw her door was opened a crack.

Had the smelly breathed guy come to teach her a lesson in politeness? Shit, she really didn’t want a lesson from him. Especially if it meant smelling his breath again. She crept slowly forward and looked through the crack. Aww, she could see her stuff was thrown around. Her couch was leaning awkwardly and that’s why her door didn’t shut.
