“Aw, fuck Baby. I’m going to cum,” Hades
gasped as he moved his finger to her clit to torment it. It was
almost as if he pressed a secret button. She froze as her pussy
clenched his rock hard cock before she screamed out her pleasure.
She jerked in a frenzy as waves of pleasure washed over her. He was
right behind her as he roared and his body arched completely off
the bed and she just clung to him, weak and almost dizzy in the
wake of the rapture they had shared.

They lay there, their breath coming in gasps
and pants. Her heart beat so hard it threatened to beat right out
of her chest. Life was just crazy and exciting with this god she
had found. She hoped that she never came face to face with Carl
Riddle again. Not because she had any feelings for him, but because
he might cause Hades pain. Regardless of her preferences, she had a
bad feeling deep in her gut that it wouldn’t be long before they
met face to face. It was probably because of Carl’s likely
involvement in the locations they had been checking out and the
trap that had been laid at the last one.

It was time to get up, check on the guys, get
out of the hotel, and hopefully find a decent place to get some
breakfast. Steak and eggs with a pot of coffee just for her sounded
pretty nice. It was a shame few places put the carafes full of
coffee on the table where you could serve yourself any more.
Waitresses rarely kept up with her need for coffee when she was
like this. She was edgy, nervous, and needed caffeine.

They were ready to leave their room in record
time taking their bags with them. Dione and Erebus were the two she
worried about the most. If they had needed her, they would have
called so she didn’t worry too much. They opened the door before
she knocked. Zot had stayed with Dione and he said he had slept all
night only waking briefly once. She woke him now to see how he was
doing.

Dione groaned, she was sure he hurt all over
but his headache had to be terrible. “Can you speak?”

“Hell, yes, but I’d rather not.”

“I think he’s getting better if he’s well
enough to complain. Here’s some pain meds for him. Zot, get him a
drink and make sure he swallows these. It’s also an anti
inflammatory. I’m going to check on Erebus.”

She and Hades went next door, but this time
they knocked. Zot answered the door, his long hair in disarray. He
wore the shorts Doc was use to seeing on the gods and nothing else.
He was attractive, traffic stopping if he stood where women could
see. They all were when they weren’t beat all to hell like the
other three were. She could enjoy the view, but she had everything
she needed in her own big god.

He stepped aside letting them in. “How did
Erebus do overnight?” Doc asked.

“He slept well only moaning once in a while
when he moved in his sleep,” Zot said.

She moved over to the bed where Erebus still
lay. Someone had put him in the shorts the gods all wore. She
checked out the wound seeing it had already started healing. It was
faster than a regular human, but just noticeably so. It still had a
long way to go but she was happy that there was no bleeding and no
signs of infection. The relief she felt was overwhelming and they
were ready to head home.

A long trip with four rowdy gods, even when
two were wounded and you had an intimidating mate to calm them
down, was no picnic. She slept a lot of the way, but she no longer
dreamed of Carl. She felt guilty for being involved with someone
that had been so pivotal for a company like Origin even though he
probably hadn’t known what they were doing at the time. Now that
she had come clean with Hades, she hoped it wouldn’t come back to
bite her in the ass. Sierra and Way knew, they had known when it
had happened, they had held her hand while she cried her heart out.
Now she realized he had done her a favor by letting her go.

They were nearly to Olympus where they would
have some of their questions answered. Doc wanted to know who had
been killed and left in that house. Was it the god they had
searched for? How were the other teams doing and what had they
found. What had Sierra done with Lizzy and Nancy? Just a little
longer and she would know. She snuggled up against her sexy god.
She would try to smell him but the wind blew through the doors
taking all scents away. She could only feel his warmth and that
would have to be good enough. He pulled her into his arms tighter,
putting a sweet kiss on her forehead. She relaxed in his arms,
maybe she should take a quick nap before they arrived. They would
be in a meeting for hours she was sure.

So much was happening so quick she could
hardly wrap her head around it and when she had spoken to Sierra
last she had implied she had a lot to tell them too. Not all
of it was mission related, she had hinted leaving her to wonder if
it was about family or friends. The sounds of the helicopter that
had annoyed her in the past was becoming familiar. It lured her
into a shallow sleep.

Chapter 9

Past Practice

Sierra looked at the tear stained faces of
the two cousins. Once confronted and convinced of their grandma’s
death, they had admitted to everything they had done and told the
little they knew. It was sad that Origin had taken advantage of the
two young women and cheated them out of the chance to share the
last days of their grandma’s life with her and each other. The
saddest thing was they had been targeted because of a relative
working for Origin. He had been in charge of getting intel on the
gods and had used his own family to do so. He was a cousin to both
Nancy and Lizzy so he knew they were good cooks and had a good
chance of being selected for employment by the gods.

Neither had wanted to go along with his
schemes so he had abducted his own grandma. At least the poor woman
hadn’t known it. She thought she was just visiting her grandson for
an extended stay. Both had a high likelihood of finding a mate
among the gods and they had been coerced, but could they ever be
trusted fully? Sierra gave them each an opportunity to stay if they
were willing to wear an armband. It had a watch and looked
perfectly innocuous, but it tracked their every move and the gods
could also listen in and even had a limited view of what was
happening at the moment if the camera was activated. The choice was
simple:
wear it or leave
. She had to admit her surprise when
they both chose to stay.

“You understand that the armband monitors and
tracks you? It limits your privacy.”

“I understand.”

“Me too.” They both agreed.

“You two may go back to whatever you were
doing. If Origin contacts you again, we need to know. If anything
comes up that causes you concern, we need to know. Do both of you
understand?” They both nodded, maybe they were too overwhelmed with
all they had found out to talk. Sierra stood and walked to the
door. She opened it and both ladies exited. The reaction to the
death of their grandma had been pure, raw pain. She supposed
someone trained to deceive might have pulled that off, but she
didn’t think so. It washed off both of them in waves so hard, it
brought tears to her eyes as well.

Lizzy had shown her a picture of her and
Nancy with her grandma in younger days. The love between them was
clear to see. Origin just kept adding to their list of crimes.
Sometimes Sierra wondered if it would ever end. She collapsed back
into her seat to decide what to do next. A knock at the door
interrupted again. This was not a good day to attempt to tame her
pile of paperwork. Some might think Zeus just gave her enough work
to feel useful, but she had at least ten hours of steady work to do
each day.

“Come in,” she said.

The door opened and Zeus peaked in.

“Since when do you bother to knock?” she
asked him.

“I knew you were in with Nancy and Lizzy and
I didn’t want anything to do with that. I wasn’t sure if you were
done yet.”

“Impeccable timing as always. They just
left.”

“Will they stay or go?”

“It surprises me, but they both want to
stay.”

“Are we making a mistake?”

“We can watch every move they make. If Origin
contacts them, we’ll know when they do. I don’t see how we can
lose.”

“I hope our trust isn’t misplaced. If they
mate a god, he will demand the bands come off.”

“If they mate a god, he’ll be all up in their
business and he’ll please them so well, they will give him their
loyalty before all others.”

Zeus growled, “Is that how I make you feel?”
Desire lit up his eyes as he stalked up to her. He pulled her into
his arms as he waited for her answer.

“Nothing but Athena comes before you.
Nothing. You are all I want in a male, all I need.”

Zeus breathed in deeply and scented the need
she had mentioned. He wanted to take her right there on her desk
even though so much was going on and he knew it wasn’t a good idea.
He dropped his mouth onto hers to kiss her with unleashed passion.
He claimed her mouth so she wouldn’t forget who she belonged to. He
was losing the fight to hold back his need when there was a knock
on the door.

He paused a moment to regain control of
himself. “Come in,” he said, his voice strong and clear.

“Hades and his team has just arrived,”
Jupiter said as he gave them a knowing look. “You said you wished
to be informed as soon as they landed.” The young gods were doing a
good job of stepping into positions left empty by those on a
mission. It hadn’t been easy, but Zeus had made them understand
that they needed to earn their place and gain respect before they
went on missions to the outside. Jupiter acted and looked nothing
like an average fifteen year old. He could be in his twenties
judging by looks and behavior.

It was like a flashback in time for Zeus
since Jupiter resembled his younger self. Jupiter left to meet
Hades team and escort them back to Zeus. It hadn’t been as crazy
for him and the other young gods as he’d expected. The only thing
that really pissed him off was when some of the others called him
and the others found with him
baby gods
. He knew originally
they hadn’t intended it as an insult or even in a teasing manner,
but only as a way to categorize them. Nevertheless, once they
realized it aggravated some of his guys, a few of them had rubbed
it in. War had been declared and those few gods had the wrath of
the young gods brought down on their heads.

Some of Zeus’s gods were finding surprises in
their beds, problems with certain furniture items, and wardrobe
malfunctions. Who knew itching powder could be gotten so easily and
used with such great results? Jupiter heard a yell followed with
cussing as he walked past the room of one of the god’s that had
made their shit list. A ghost of a smile crossed his face before it
disappeared as if it had never been there.

He continued to the end of the hall where he
waited a few minutes until Hades and his team appeared. Hades’s
mate was hot, all the mates he had met were. He couldn’t wait until
someday he met his mate, but not too soon. He wanted to sample all
that the world had to offer first.

“Hello, glad to see you survived your
mission. Zeus ask that I escort you to him,” Jupiter said.

“Lead on,” Hades answered.

Zeus and Sierra waited in the meeting room
alone. Doc and Sierra rushed to each other to hug. They had tears
in their eyes. Zeus and Hades looked at each other and their eyes
met. They would never understand females and they weren’t going to
try. They would just love them, enough said.

“Bring us up to date,” Zeus said. “We’ll fill
you in next.”

“There’s nothing new to tell you. We’ve kept
you up on everything as soon as we could. As you can see, Dione got
the worst of it, Erebus second, and Aaron next. We all had some
bruises, but we were lucky. Those explosives were set to kill. Any
word yet on the bodies?”

“We had some residue, because that’s a good
description for what’s left, sent here. One was a female, not
enough left to identify, and two males, unidentifiable. We hope Doc
and Nioma can tell us if they are human or god,” Zeus said.

“My guess is they aren’t god. They didn’t
look fit enough. I can’t be a hundred percent sure, but I wonder if
Origin is having an inner struggle for control in their leadership
because of the shortage of money. We’re putting the pressure on and
they’rec cracking,” Doc suggested.

“That would explain a thing or three,” Sierra
said. “It would explain the breakdown of their organization, the
change in their goals from capture to kill, and the dead bodies
left lying around.”

“It looks like Carl Riddle is involved,” Doc
said.

“We may have gotten lucky then. One of the
teams assigned through Cher’s company has caught him when he was
seeing his mother,” Zeus informed them.

Doc was hit with conflicting emotions. She
didn’t want to see him, but they might get valuable information
from him.

“You okay?” Sierra asked looking at Doc.

“I’ll be fine, just dirty and tired. How did
things go with Lizzy and Nancy?”

“We gave them a choice after we told them
about their grandma. Leave or stay with armbands to track them
with. They both stayed, for now anyway,” Sierra said. “Carl will be
here tomorrow. Are you going to be okay?” she whispered softly.
Everyone could hear anyway, they were all gods but only a few of
them would understand what it meant.

“Water under the bridge,” she said with a
smile.
Water under the bridge,
she thought hoping it
true.

“Anything from the others that we sent
out?”

“Hercules and Eres both checked in but the
locations were off and they are trying to hunt the facilities down.
Apollo didn’t leave as quickly as we’d hoped. It seemed Way didn’t
want to go and we had to persuade her. They left a full day after
you and they are hiking in with a human guide making their progress
slow. I bet they haven’t made it there yet and won’t for a few more
days. We are getting new intel continuously and if we get a new
location on the god you were tracking, I may need you two to go
back out for him,” Zeus explained. He knew they had no desire to go
out again and once Doc was pregnant, he’d lose a good team. Maybe
Nioma would agree to go out after the abused gods they had leads
on. It had never been something she enjoyed, but she had military
training too. She had opted out of the military when her time was
up, but Doc had talked Zeus into hiring her and he hadn’t regretted
it.
