The article Flint Cottrell had written on the Clayborne ring was published in the August issue of
Legends and Fantasy
that year. The popular magazine hit the stands the same day that Amanda Jane Cottrell was born. She didn't know it then, but her proud parents planned to give her a very special ring when she grew up. It had a brilliant green stone in it that would match her eyes.
