“Yes, Master?”

“I’ve spent some time in the past few days while you were busy putting this gala together training Gina with the whips.” Again he waited, this time she reacted.

“Really, Sir?” Her demeanor told him she was not ready to leave the manor.

“I’ve been working with her for the sole purpose of teaching one man a lesson. I hope it will not upset you, but I told her who sent the man Larry who beat her.”

“Why would it upset me, sir?”

“Well, I think it might. Larry was the man who chased you into the rectory before you came here and your ex-fiancé Norman asked him to do it.”

This time he got a reaction. She was furious as it dawned on her why he came to the manor! “He came here looking for you and found a girl wearing the name Gina. Rose, he again acted on Norman’s request.”

The look of fury in her eyes was such as he’d never seen before! She jumped off his lap, but a wave of his hand sat her down again. Where would she go, anyway? Actually, she felt she needed to race out the door and burn off the adrenaline surging through her veins.

Drew finally spoke. “We invited Norman for a play-date. We made it on the computer to look like he won a contest and he must have dialed the number the minute he opened the mail. He couldn’t wait to come here.”

“When he called, he asked for a girl matching your description exactly, and that’s what we gave him. Surprisingly, he didn’t ask for you by name. He looked very excited to be in a room full of whips. I got the impression he expected to be the one wielding them. He looked even more excited when Gina entered the room wearing a leather corset, black stockings, high heels and a Lone Ranger type mask.”

Still steaming, Rose calmed just a little while she listened.

Drew continued, “He started mocking her, telling her he expected she’d be making her living on her back much sooner. Then he told her she should have come crawling back to him – and that she’d always be his. Gina sauntered over the whip rack and took one down. He said, “I’ll take that, babe.”

Rose winced. “I always hated being called babe.”

Drew chuckled. “Then you will love this part! Gina told him, ‘yes, you will take it, and a lot more,’ just before she cracked the whip at his feet. He cursed at her and lunged forward, but she was ready for him and lashed the whip around him; she knocked the wind out of him! He looked a lot less excited to see Rob and me enter the room, lock him in cuffs and strip him.”

“With my knife,” Robert added.

At this point Rose started to giggle. Robert tightened his arms around her a bit.

Then Drew added, “I recorded the whole thing for your future enjoyment. You will be so proud of Gina when you see how she ‘taught’ him to be a good boy! She said she wanted to learn to use the whips as well as her Mistress does.”

“Thank you, Drew. And thank you, Master.” She was once again smiling. Shaking a bit, but smiling. Then she remembered how the conversation started. “Are you dismissing me, Master?” She felt she should just blurt it out before she lost her nerve.

“I’m saying you no longer need to be employed. All of your property has been put into your new name.”

“You’ve done so much for me…” her voice was tight with emotion.

“There is more – that great aunt who died in WWII – had a child. That child knew of you, her only living relative, and has left you her entire inheritance from her wealthy father. Rose, you are a rich woman in your own right.”

Rose was stunned – speechless! So much information to sort!

Robert took her hand. “This is a lot to process, dear, but you don’t have to make any decisions tonight.”

She found her voice and asked, “But, Master, do you want me to leave?”

A direct question, it deserved a direct answer. “I do not, dear,” he answered emphatically, “but I do want what is best for you. To be truthful, I hope you will stay.”

The relief on her face told him everything he needed to know. “I’ll draw a new partnership agreement, sans the service contract.”

“Thank you so much, Master!”

“Are you happy, my dear?”

“Deliriously, Master.”

It was obvious on her face, but he asked anyway, “Do you love me?”

“I do! I love you, Master, with all my heart and soul,” she answered.

He grinned at her. “You know you don’t have to call me Master right now.”

“I know.”

“Well, you will have to start planning another wedding.”

“Oh? Do I know the couple?”

“Intimately,” Robert answered, kissing her tenderly. “I love you,” he told her, for the first time and she gasped.

Drew laughed out loud. “It’s about time!”

Robert looked into Rose’s loving eyes and said simply, “Until I met you, my darling, I never anticipated saying these words; Marry me,” as he showed her the diamond ring and placed it on her finger.

Tears of joy welled in her eyes; she realized she wasn’t breathing. Robert was smiling expectantly and she replied, “Oh, yes, Master! Yes, yes, yes!”

Mariah Bailey started writing in high school, and then life happened. With children to raise and a business to run, there was very little time to indulge in writing. The kids are all grown now and there’s finally time to explore the worlds of many characters.

For the past few years, Mariah has participated in writing groups both locally and online to hone her craft. She has written numerous short stories and poetry. Challenges from others to write “outside the comfort zone” inspired exploring erotica. After entering several erotica contests and even winning a few, she had the encouragement needed to write a novel.
