Sugar, alcohol, caffeine, and refined grains. Remove pork from the diet. The nitrates that are added to this meat are often a trigger.

Red meat and milk. They both contain arachidonic acid, which for some is difficult to absorb and could exacerbate inflammation.

Dairy products, eggs, wheat, corn, and citrus, as these are the most common causes of food sensitivities.

Nightshades such as tomatoes, peppers, potatoes, and paprika. They could be triggers.

Gluten, which may be a trigger, so do not eat too much wheat. Vary your diet. Go to www.gillianmckeith.info.

HERBS AND SUPPLEMENTS

Take milk thistle to improve liver function. I have seen the best results with this herb, as it helps to filter blood toxins, inhibit inflammation, and correct rapid cell growth. Also use the herb glutathione to slow down the underlying skin cell growth.

Other herbs: cleavers, dandelion, yarrow, and burdock in tea form and tincture to help detoxify. Coptis may help to prevent new outbreaks. Sarsaparilla. Goldenseal may help indirectly to lower the proliferation of skin-cell development. Ayurvedic herb coleus forskolhli may slow down fast cell growth. Oregon Grape, or
Mahonia aquifolium
, has been lauded as an antipsoriasis herb.

Take glutamine powder before meals.

Sprinkle lecithin granules on salads. Lecithin is helpful for fat metabolism and liver health.

Improving digestion overall is critical. The herb gentiana in liquid form may be useful for this.
