These three juices are packed full of vitamins that will get you bounding out the front door and into the gym. All serve one person.

pre-workout

4 medium carrots

2 beetroots

2 handfuls parsley

2cm piece ginger, peeled

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

 

 

4pm pick-me-up

1 handful spinach

5 romaine lettuce leaves

½ cucumber

4 sticks celery

1 lemon, peeled and pith removed

1 apple, peeled and cored

2cm piece ginger, peeled

½ tsp cinnamon

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

 

 

eternal energy

1 lemon, peeled and pith removed

3 Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored

2.5cm piece ginger, peeled

1 cucumber

1 tsp spirulina

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

 

 

cashew milk

This milk can be enjoyed as a dessert or after dinner, for that little sweet kick you know you need.

100g cashew nuts

1 vanilla pod

300ml water

1 tsp honey

tiny pinch salt

 

Soak the cashew nuts in enough water to cover for 4 hours.

Discard the cashew soaking water, and rinse the cashews in a sieve under running water.

Cut the vanilla pod in half lengthways and scrape out the seeds. Put the soaked cashew nuts, 300ml water, vanilla seeds, honey and salt in a blender. Blend for 3–4 minutes.

The milk will keep for a week in a container in the fridge

strong and lean smoothie

This is the perfect pre- or post-gym muscle booster. Packed with natural protein from peanut butter and raw protein powder, it’s quick and easy to make and will keep hunger at bay for hours.

1 frozen banana (peeled and frozen the night before)

250ml nut milk, rice milk, coconut milk or coconut water

1 tbsp raw protein powder

1 tbsp peanut butter or other nut butter

1 tsp vanilla powder or extract

 

Blend and enjoy. This is best drunk fresh.

 

 

cleanse

Cleanse your gorgeous body with these nutrient-packed drinks. They’re all designed to flush out toxins and reboot your day. All serve one person.

 

 

classic cleanse

1 handful parsley

3 medium carrots

1 small beetroot with leaves

200g rocket

2 sticks celery

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

 

 

fat buster

¼ watermelon, skin and seeds removed
2 limes, peeled and pith removed

 

Put both ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

 

 

coconut milk

100g desiccated coconut

150ml water, boiled and cooled in the fridge

150ml cold water

pinch salt

 

Put all the ingredients in a blender. Blend for 4 minutes, then strain through a nut milk bag or piece of muslin. Squeeze the cloth to extract excess liquid.

The milk will keep for a week in a container in the fridge

drink your five-a-day

1 handful kale

2 carrots

1 apple, peeled and cored

1 pear, peeled and cored

1 lemon, peeled and pith removed

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

7 sticks celery

1 apple, peeled and cored

½ cucumber

1 handful parsley

1 handful spinach leaves

juice of 1 lemon

juice of 1 lime

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

 

 

almond milk

Most shop-bought almond milks are packed with nasty chemicals and added sugar. Making your own . . . well, it’s super simple. Just soak, blend and sip.

100g almonds

300ml water

1 tsp cinnamon

pinch salt

 

Soak the almonds in enough water to cover for 6–12 hours.

Discard the almond soaking water, and rinse the almonds in a sieve under running water.

Put the soaked almonds, 300ml water, the cinnamon and salt in a blender. Blend for 4 minutes, then strain through a nut milk bag or piece of muslin. Squeeze the cloth to extract excess liquid.

The milk will keep for a week in a container in the fridge

date and cardamom almond milk

This gorgeous warm milk is spiced with the flavours of India – perfect as a nightcap. The cinnamon gives it a nice sweetness and helps to regulate your blood sugar levels and reduce later cravings.

300ml almond milk

1 whole cardamom pod

5 Medjool dates, stones removed

1 cinnamon stick

 

Blend the milk with the cardamom and dates for 2 minutes, then strain through a fine sieve.

Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat to a low simmer with the cinnamon stick for 5 minutes. Pour into mugs to enjoy.

 

 

stir and purr (sleep tonic)

1 green apple, peeled and cored

7 strawberries, hulled

15 cherries, stones removed

2 sticks celery

½ cucumber

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.

 

 

hangover helper

3 medium tomatoes

1 stick celery

1 lemon

2.5cm piece ginger, peeled

1 jalapeño chilli, seeds removed

½ cucumber

 

Put all the ingredients into a juicer. Drink that day.
