Group of malignant disease; the bone marrow and other blood forming organs produce increased numbers of white blood cells.

Encourage the secretion of milk into the ductal system.
Necrotising enterocolitis (NEC)
Life-threatening disease affecting the bowel of the newborn during the first few weeks of life, more common in pre-term babies.
Neuroendocrine
Control of certain activities of the body by the nervous system and circulating hormones.

Obesity
Condition in which excess fat has accumulated in the body, mostly in the subcutaneous tissues.
Oxytocin
Hormone produced by the posterior pituitary gland causing contraction of the myoep- ithelial cells around the alveoli lumen which stimulates milk flow from the breasts after the birth, in response to the baby suckling at the breast.
