Digestive enzyme causing breakdown of protein.
Puerperal infection
Infection of the genital tract arising in the postnatal period.
Puerperium
The six to eight week period following childbirth, during which the mother’s body returns to its physiological pre-pregnant state.
Pyrexia
Rise in body temperature above the normal.
Symphysis pubis
Joint between the pubic bones of the pelvis.
Tachycardia
Abnormal increase in the heart rate.
