“I fear you may grow restless and someday regret your decision tae marry,” she replied softly.

Alasdair wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. “I love you, Edina. More than I ever dreamed was possible. I willna regret my decision. On the contrary, I will give daily thanks tae the Almighty for bringing us together.”

“Will you not miss your brothers and your home? Jayden told me Connor offered to step down as laird of Clan Fraser so you could take your rightful place.”

“This is my place, Edina, and my home. With you is where I
belong. Connor is a fine laird and I have no desire tae replace him. My brothers and their wives know they are welcome tae visit us any time they wish. Once our castle is built, we will have plenty of space. However, given the way my brothers breed, we are going tae need many chambers tae house all their bairns,” he tossed back his head and laughed.

“What about you, Alasdair? Will we need many chambers for our babes?” she asked, then lowered her gaze and began to nibble on her bottom lip.

Alasdair lifted her chin and kissed her. “I am the eldest brother. You dinna think I will let Connor and Bryce outshine me beneath the sheets, do you?” He slid his hand over her belly and smiled. “After last night, your father may get his wish and he will have a grandbabe in the spring.” He rolled Edina beneath him and smiled. “But tae be safe, I think we should try again.”
