Oh, hi! Thank heaven you're here at Grey Gardens!
Even though I won the Tony Award for Best Actress
in a musical, business has been very slow-in fact,
nonexistent. We're gone! Mary- Louise Wilson, who
plays my mother, warned me about doing obscure and
intellectual musicals like Grey Gardens. She wanted me
to revive Manie. We had quite a fight. I told her ...

What a lovely tune! But that's all you are going to get
of it. Just listen to this: "Grey Gardens has successfully
moved to Broadway. Christine Ebersole, a former
Broadway soubrette once known as'Broadway Better
Ebersole..."' They called me "Broadway Belter
Ebersole." It's true. That was my, whaddayacallit,
my sobriquet. Anyway, "Miss Ebersole gives the
performance of her generation in a musical that is
half great: You choose which half." Why, that's the most
disgusting, atrocious review ever written in America.

Honestly, Broadway is starting to look more like
Branson, Missouri. They can close you down for
singing a lovely introspective ballad and replace you
with Staples: The Musical!
